TK- when will you be selling at any of the expos that hit Missouri or Oklahoma? I'm in OK but I'd like to buy from you directly as a THANKS since you and several others in YT have helped in my education of arachnids. Just went to the one yer promoting in this video but it was micro hrre in OK compared to the ones that hit Dallas when I lived there.
Got my first jumper (regius) yesterday at the NY Metro Reptile Expo and just got my second today! I love them so much, I’d throw myself into traffic for my girls
I love that you showed P. whitmani! I've got two in captivity here - one is a mature male, and the other is immature, and I'm hoping it maybe turns out female after a molt. Got them both from my property here, as it turns out they live wild right here in my yard. Love these little guys. And congrats on the successful pairing.
Have you ever considered keeping orbweavers? I'm so in love with those guys, but alas they're not that popular. I'd love to see what an enclosure of yours would look like
@@huepainter Lucky! We're supposed to have a bajillion species right where I live, too (Brazil's the land of the spiders, after all), but sadly I haven't come across many so far
@@huepainterOrb Weaver Females only live 1 year. After they are Gravid only once, they die after laying eggs. It’s why Charlotte dies in the book and film.
These lil babies are sooooo damn cute! I'm so grateful to life (aka the CZcams algorithm) to have place you on my path! I used to be a big haracnopbobic girl and now I'm less and less. I'm still not into big spiders tho... But I ordered a Phidipus Audax and it's supposed to arrive tomorrow or Wednesday 🤞😁🖤🤍🩶 Can't wait! The enclosure is ready!!! And I have a Tarantula crib fro it when it gets bigger!
I am also watching a couple more channels about spiders. One I just found is Bioactive B. I haven't watched her much, but seems to be very kind with the jumping spiders so far. I mentioned you in one of her videos to let her know about your channel. Hopefully she will come and see your channel and learn more. I have seen almost all your videos and still learning, and enjoying how you feed, rehouse, house and, take special care of the spiders and animals you have. Thank you is sometimes not enough for all you share, but Thank you...I hope to see you soon in your next video...❤😊🕸🕷🕸😊❤
It depends. Sexual cannibalism in Spiders is somewhat common, but not as common as you think. Generally, Male Strong Eyed Hunters live for about 12-14 months, sometimes 24 months. If they’re not eaten by their baby mama, they’ll usually just pass away on their own. Male Spiders have Very Short lifespans. Once they reach maturity, that’s a wrap for them.(No pun intended).
I am terrified of spiders but I am looking at getting my first Jumping spider soon. I find them to be so cute and they are one of the few spiders that do not freak me out. Hopefully I can defeat my fear of spiders. I love your videos and it is great to see someone that loves spiders so much and it gives me hope that I can love them all as much as you do one day.
I will say that I've always had arachnophobia but since I've been watching your channel I am seeing beautiful spiders and tarantulas and it has me looking at them in a new light and I think I'm going to try and find a very docile breed to start with in the sling so if you could possibly suggest one that you think would be best for a starter that would be great and again I love your channel I love all your animals especially your spiders in your gecko😊❤😊❤😊
Hey, I’m a new subscriber to your channel! I love your videos, and have learnt so much about tarantulas over the last few weeks. I didn’t realise there were so many species! I wondered why spider keepers refer to the scientific name, more often than the common name?
Ain't no blood stains on my pants dressed in black just like a nun This is payback you called me fake Bending bars inside my cage Creeping crawling night and day till I'm walking talking rage
Oh man I’m very sorry. I feel your pain. I lost my male audax a few months ago. This morning I opened the container for my rhinoceros beetles and my male X. jamaicensis unexpectedly crossed the rainbow bridge this morning. I cried like a baby. They aren’t “just bugs” as most people say. They’re so much more❤️
Yo, good afternoon Ma'am! I am just trying to find some information, and nobody has responded. We are officially entering Fall here in Iowa. That means all my plants come in as well. Aphids are a bugger, and due to having a rabbit, I don't use pesticides. I guess here is my point. 😊 I always have jumpers coming into the house. I figure it's possible to let them live throughout the winter in my plants, and or my succulent and cacti empire. I just learned about how they drink water. I was amazed! I assumed their source of water came from the bugs they eat. My conundrum is this. If they come inside on their own, then I understand nature takes its course; BUT I I bring something into my home, then it's my responsibility to care for it, even if it's a spider. Can a Jumper live happily in my window seals provided that I give them water? I know they have to eat, but what do they do in winter to stay alive? Indoor plants don't really have seasons, but in the windows, it's like a nature cycle/weather cycle. Cool in the night, warm in the day. ect. I have a cute little castle for one to live in if need, but also my plants, from my Banana Tree to my Cacti, they are empires for the little jumpers. That's where I will stop. I don't want to start going in circles. lol Any input would be much appreciated! Thank You Much In Advance 🤗 EDIT: Yooo, I just found a channel called Bug Attraction. This guy filled in the missing pieces within my thought process. He mentioned you in his video. It is a year old, but he stated you had some a-hole trying to bully you about having your jumpers in inclosures. There always has to be that one troll/bigget.
Thank you @tarantulakat for my message I love your new merch has loads of people asking where I got it.the hoodie is my favourite thing it’s so warm ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I've been keeping tarantulas for years and found you through my favorite tarantula seller, FangHub Tarantulas. Amy is amazing! But I have a friend interested in jumping spiders and has been asking me about setups, care, etc. My sister has been starting to fall in love with them but isn't fond of my bigger T's... I think it's time to get my first jumper. Do you sell these slings? I want to purchase from someone knowledgeable and trustworthy, and you fit that so very well and more. ❤️ Another Kat and her tarantulas sending good vibes your way with this upcoming holiday season!
hi kat! my buddy gave me a red tree spider whose missing at least 3 legs and has some weird spots on his legs and carapace that look like reddish blisters? i’m not sure if they’re abscesses but if you have any ideas or anything at all please help me help this little guy
You absolutely can! There are so many cheap easy DIY enclosures. Even old food containers work. Just poke ventilation holes and look outside to catch your own!
@@SClark-lq6cm be patient and look around. When you see at least two others of the same species then you have less worry because you know the others will have a chance outside. Remember that some females can have up to a dozen egg sacs with 10 to 50 viable spiderlings in each sac.
What kind of enclosure would you recommend for a 1/2 in. Carabena. versicolor sling? I have him in a home made arboreal enclosure at the moment. I made it according to Tom Marans pink toe sling enclosures. It’s 2 cups, one with a lid on it for substrate, and the other one is the lid. I want something I can see through better, because the current enclosure is very blurry. It’s such a beautiful little sling! It deserves a clear enclosure! I purchased it from Crystal Palace Exotics. I think you have a tarantula sling from the same breeder? I’m so nervous about rehousing this little one, because I know how finicky they are. Wasn’t Bon Bon a C. versicolor? It molted for the first time in my care last week, and it took a chopped up meal worm for me afterwards! So i think we are healthy and happy at the moment. Just want to keep it that way. I just purchased my first tarantula 2 years ago, and I now have 4 plus about 20 jumping spiders! This pink toe is my first arboreal.
