- 75 Years ago today, Ted Roosevelt, the eldest son of President Theodore Roosevelt died in Normandy. He's buried with his youngest brother, Quentin, who was killed during World War I. They named their jeep rough rider what a tribute to their father
I named my son after Quentin Roosevelt and have picture of him between the two grave markers.
He was supposed to land on Utah Beach but was dropped off erroneously. He famously stated, " we'll start the war from here". He also was given the Medal of Honor. Your coverage lacks a lot.
It was the US Army Air Service during ww1

How many politicians would put their own children on the front line today?? All far too busy with nepotism and government contracts.
During WW1 the Germans tried to propagandize the death of Quentin by saying that the US is so desperate to win even the sons of presidents are being forced to fight. Instead what happened was it caused outrage that the German politicians were keeping their own sons out of the war instead of sending them to fight like the rest of the worlds politicians
