D-Day should be a national holiday; this historical event is so significant that it should never be forgotten.

The Battle of Britain was more important to us British and more fitting for a national holiday.
The Germans were already losing and in retreat well before D-Day.

Brilliant idea. Now we need schools to place this day in their calendars to show our kids what sacrifice was made.

Fighting in Normandy was the bloodiest the US and UK faced in WWII I believe. Not so much the beaches but the French countryside, the hedgerows were ideal cover.

Men of the west; what we have, what our forefathers created is worth fighting for. It deserves our love, protection and admiration.

It must have been scary being a soldier storming the beaches of Normandy.
But it must have been even more terrifying being a crab or seagull.

Never again, we need to rejoin the EU peace project, and work together again as soon as possible.
