Good to be discreet and respectful. Some tourists go and take pics in underdeveloped countries as if people are zoo animals. No humility, no ethics, no self respect.
I unfortunately witnessed it myself here. It was so cringe seeing how some photographers acted
Underdeveloped?
Having traveled extensively this is far too true. I always use a 50 or 75 when in developing countries and try to learn and be respectful of the culture of the place I’m in. Lost some great photos because of it but I am in their home space so one should be respectful. I’ve seen so much cringe behavior from other photogs though.
I mean, I wouldn't say that Morocco is that underdeveloped, tourists just focus on the medinas that were built a thousand years that represent less than 10% of the city, outside the medinas are modern cities were most ppl live, althou not all cities and regions of Morocco are equal ofc
Morocco is considered 3rd World country, or a developing nation.
Faizal, this is your best video yet, in my opinion. Incredible work! The photos, footage, music, editing, the message.. everything was on point. I love this!
Fully agree! Great video :-)
Keep up the good work!
My mom’s hometown I need to show it to her you captured the essence of the city so well
thank you so much that means a lot!
Love the intro, the Jazzy Blues-ish and hectic nature of it reminded me of some Cowboy Bebop scene on Moroccan Street.
Great to see you enjoying my home country! Haven't been able to get back there since Covid, so it's been amazing being able to follow you on your journey and from the eyes of a street photographer.
a round of applause for the music choices made as well 👏👏👏
Thanks for taking the time to make this beautiful video. :)
thank you for watching Alex
Been following this channel for about 3 years now, and I personally feel like this video really stands out as one of the most beautiful, inspiring and as strong on the video side than on the photography side. Being able to have a feeling for the place through motion and at the same time contemplating some of those minimalist and yet vivid and amazing compositions and street shots… had to watch it a second time straight away 😂!
Bravo Faizal 🙌
This was great man. You're really finding your groove with these last few videos. Feels very unique.
Always cool to see your perspective on photography, especially street photography as a tourist in other countries. Super inspiring and amazing photos as usual
Loved this video. I just visited there myself for the first time last week (Marrakech for 4 days, across the sahara for 3 days, and then 4 days in fes) and did some street photography/POV video i'm still editing.
Your description of your sensory experience there is so spot on. It was very overwhelming at first and my fiance and i almost got run over probably 10 times a day. But visually, one of the coolest places I've ever visited. Such amazing colors in the Souks paired with such a stunning red/magenta hue to the building walls.
I’ve been planning to go to Morocco! Love your shots mate!! This really inspired me to push my plan sooner. ❤
Beautiful Work!
Thanks for sharing this experience with us, I really appreciate the effort you put in this and how you manage to inspire me to travel and do more street photography.
Man, some of your shots are out of this world in a sense so much coming together to make the shot.
amazing! all photos where beautiful but the second photo of the boy with the soccer ball is insane!!
I'm usually more on the black and white side of street photography but I really like the colors in this one. I especially love the shot of the man at 4:20
Great video
Faizal!!! This video is amazing. Love the edit, the music, the photos. All of it. Great job!
Favorite photography creator. Always enjoy watching your videos and makes me want to go shoot some pics.
Wow! It has been a while since I have been so inspired to visit a country. We have been travelling the world for the past 16 months and have visited some incredible places, mostly in Asia but this is making us long for a huge culture shift!
Thank you for creating such incredible and inspiring content! ✨🙏🏼✨
Great great vídeo man, love the photos as usual. Your vibe its a pleasure to the eye. Congrats
Loved the video and amazing results!
Awesome video!!! The photo at 8:31 was my favorite! I think you did a good job capturing a side of this city that not a lot of tourists would see!
Maan your calm voice, the way you film, the background music you choose, it all makes sense and the final product is an informative yet enjoyable video. Love these places too, magical, and hey it didn't seem that some photos were taken from the hip, agree with you that we need to respect different cultures. Good editing too that's a power tool. Keep grinding dude 😎👍
Excellent video! Thoroughly enjoyed
Faizal, thank you for the video. The city visuals were brilliant. And you got it right in saying we must learn to read the sensitivities of the places or countries we're photographing in. And not brazenly go in taking pics with impunity.
What an impressive piece of work. Congratulations, Faizal, this was a treat to watch!
Amazing work
I visited Morocco ten days ago for Street Photography, in the same place, wow, amazing travel and amazing video.
Excellent work as always.
Your photography is amazing. Thanks for sharing it with us!
Enjoy your vision! I always get new ideas on how to see and look for images through your videos. Thank you.
Really relatable. I visited late last year and it’s a perfect place for photography but you also learn to become more respectful of boundaries in the culture. Was my first trip outside of Europe armed with my X100V and I just couldn’t stop taking photos of shadows and light.
You do end up shooting from the hip but in truth I’d agree, the best places to photograph are away from the medina. The light hits beautifully on those buildings. Also really enjoyed taking pictures of doors lol.
So stunning 😍 omg I want to visit that country ❤
beautiful video from my beautiful country, glad u like Morocco, you need more time to explore more places in the country, hope you visit it again 😍
Beautiful work faizal,a lot to learn from you my friend
Love your style... Both as a narrator and photographer. Your editing is next level, even though I am a Lightroom user. LOL
I find that sometimes the 'from the hip' photos are the most interesting, though.
Glad you had a nice trip with your dad and did not get run over. :)
youre photography is so outstanding to me. I am obsessedd. the way you compose woth the light is exactly my taste❤️❤️❤️
I love your style of storytelling, Faizal! It really conjures up a vivid visual. The photos, the footage, the music, your commentary - all together - beautiful!
Respect is key! Great video Faisal. Really beautiful and inspiring.
Great photos, very well done!
Great video, you got some amazing images on your trip!
Omg makes me miss Marrakech so much 😢 great shots man! 🙌
Wow! What a great time of photography!
The music was well chosen as well.
some of your best work so far. some great shots. love the jazz tunes at the beginning!
marrakech is a double edged sword. overload of great motives, but you always get the feeling someone is about to slap the camera out of your hand.
Nice one Faisal, you have an excellent eye for capturing daily life, I enjoy seeing your perspective on this world of ours. 👍
Well done, Faizal!!!
the portrait of the two young boys against the wall is breathtaking. great work!
M8 this video is your masterpiece for real ❤️ thank you for sharing 📸
I hear Morocco is an especially challenging place for street photography. You got some real keepers. Kudos!
Marrakech is one of those places that makes you love photography even more, and once you visit it, you will return for sure. This video is a gem, thank you!
Excellent videography story and montage 👌 cheers from France 🇫🇷 !!
Great video. Great pictures
Excellent. Extremely high-quality storytelling with visual support. Some photos reminiscent of HCB or W. Eugene Smith, then that shot in the window of the minivan, just superb. I like to think this is how I shoot as well on my best days, and yes, respectful, ethical. Each of your videos is like a beautiful haiku, a miniature window opening on to a bustling, kaleidoscopic world. Masterful.
Faizal, I just want to say that I always love your content from the beginning! I wish that Sai Gon (Vietnam) will be on your travel list as well. I'm so excited to see my home country through your lens ❤
love your style
love your photo
and i also love how you represented my country
Incredible video!
So good brother! Well done
Those are stunning shoots !
fujifilm raw files + capture one is so powerful! switched from lightroom last month and its so amazing.
Wow Morocco! Love this video.
Love the audio! Reminiscent of my own travel there. Amazing photos!
One of your most interesting videos to me. I've been in Morocco many times over a 55 year period from 1967 when there were no tourists at all. It's a photographer’s paradise. Nice to see your shots of Marrakech off the tourist areas. There are lots of wonderful photo opportunities everywhere in Morocco. Explore all of it if you get the chance.
The hectic b-roll in this video is really cool, as well as, the Kamasi sounding experimental jazz. Nice to see a different style from what’s usually on youtube.
You're the definition of talent !
the double walk-by fade out was just 🤌
Hey Faizal. I follow you on Instagram, so have been excited about this video recently. I was in Marrakech about a week after you (the weather took a bit of a turn!), and can resonate with many of the points you've made in this video. We stayed on the outskirts of the Medina, on the north side, at Riad Ayadina. I was met with quite a lot of sensitivity over photographing wherever we went, even when not photographing people. You've managed to get some really great photos there though, particularly capturing light/shadows. Well done and thanks for the video!
This is a great video for me!
Really nice video, and.. great music too! 👍
There’s nothing else I can say. All photos (works) are amazing!
I think this particular video from you is a bit more special. Thanks faizal you made my i mean our day! 🙏🔥🔥
Nice video. Dope pics!
Hello Faizal, long time follower, first time commenter: your best video! I can get some Fan Ho in HK vibes here, very inspiring! And I think the video work and editing is top notch
lovely images faizal
thanks so much !
Nice video! You're actually one of the reasons I decided to get back into creating content after COVID, and start taking pictures more seriously. I even changed my Sony for a Fuji xD Thanks!
Good work
Bravo Faizal 🎈
Love the side mirror shot
Beatfiful work :)
Amazing video, really stunning images. The shot at 4:20 is so nice! Just a quick question about using a zoom lens instead of a prime: do you feel like your approach to street photography changes when using a zoom instead of a prime lens? I ususally feel like zooms give me way too many options when shooting and as a result kind of overwhelm me.
Great video Faisal - you have discovered what I already know about street photography in Marrakech. Don't you just enjoy the ubiquitous mopeds, petrol fumes and sensory overload. Getting round the locals general reluctance to be photographed is also a challenge. Many of your shots are of backs or using longer focal lengths. However they are excellent in composition and use of light. Its a brilliant place and watching this has given me a very bad itch to go back there. btw did you visit the photography museum? - its very impressive.
Definitely good one❤
You got inspired by that color photography book to go to Moroccoo. Great choice cuz overdone cities like NYC and the UK gets old. Some really great stuff in this video.
wonderful
that was a good 1 bro, getting images from the real is slammin
Just beautiful :)
Lovely images! This video and the editing in it really makes me feel like I'm there, I was stressing when those scooters passed so close lol. What lenses did you take with you?
Beautiful video! Did u grade it with dehancer? And was it shot in the "normal" 4k mode on the xt5, not the fine? really filmic fast readout with not a lot visible rolling shutter artefacts!
That shot @2:42 is incredible. Fantastic capture.
Awesome Faizal. I'm going to Marrakesh next month. bringing my ricoh. can't wait. I'll be respectful.
love your videos ! come to casablanca !!
luv it
many of the photos really reminded me of Harry Gruyaert. Really well done!
Wonderful video, would love to visit north Africa one day
Like the vibe of the less controlled imagery and environment. These images feel good.
Amazing video come to rabat !!!
Liking the calm narrative tone. Felt like I was walking those streets with you. Please what's the song that starts at 10:00?
i am researching on street photography and i came across your channel. Very inspiring!
I saw your Capture One editing. DO you have a Capture one editing tutorials or lectures? I would like to sign in!
Amazing, and first popup to the comment section guideline ever, that is great. Awesome shots, love it. Great channel.
Awesome video!!! You definitely showed character of the city and you narration is on point. So I assume from the description of this video that you shoot video part in Marrakech on Fuji and gave up Sony? Cause quality, color it’s definitely there - I see no compromises with crop sensor.
Left the Sony at home for this trip. All video apart from GoPro is the XT5!
It's criminal that this only has 32k views
