Do you fast? If so, what is your fasting protocol? Type, duration, etc.
almost 1x per week water and herbal healing tea . Did 5 day with supervisor at Uchee Pines lifestyle center.
Once a week is maintenance, keeps me off BP meds
Awesome - thanks for sharing Me Man!
I do a no meats(poultry, and sea food too) and minimal drinks of all types. Water to drink whenever. I do allow my body to "cheat" and eat whatever, but i go through a feedback loop from body to mind for about a week give or take to find out what im hungry for and not just craving. Hope that helps some people out.
I do 14 hr intermittent fasting ..would that be effective for healing inflammation?
every week i fast for 3 days straight, 27yo.
Right now I’m not eating on Monday,Wednesday and Friday and intermittent on the other days,I’ve been on the Ketogenic way of eating for 21& months lost 150 pounds,90 to go hundreds of inches, and I can walk again no arthritis pain, full of energy and I am 61 years old
Wow love this Tina - keep up the great work!!
so happy for you! I am 68 and lost 30 but gained back some. Finding it hard to get back into keto. Guess I am not fat burning.
What about black coffee it’s good
Wd
Great
I finally did a 37 hour fast and dropped 5lbs. Went from 392lbs to 387lbs and am doing intermittent fasting in between prolonged fasts. Next Sunday I'm starting a 48 fast and with God's help Im finally going to get my health back this year.
Congratulations! You can do it! Enjoy the journey & ALWAYS LISTEN to your body! #BLESSED #140GONE #NoMore22s #PlantBased
@@WestVirginiaDee Thanks! Thats awesome! I'm doing low carb to help maximize my results and will also be doing Carnivore on and off to see if that helps too.
You got this, Frank! Make your own food and know exactly what goes into it! God speed health and happiness to you!
@@terrifranklin7585 Thanks Terri! Im only eating homecooked meals, Ive cut out all processed foods including the low carb varieties. Mainly just a meat, a fat, and a vegetable and trying to just eat once or twice a day. Since this last 48 hour fast Im down a total of 16lbs in 3 weeks of eating low carb and fasting. This coming week Im doing at least a 60 hour fast.
Great job you got this!!!
Fan-freaking-tastic information. Thank you
BUT..
The biggest thanks goes to the host of this show who just allowed Dave to speak without interrupting. I'll be a repeat viewer because of your lovely interview style.
Thank you for the love Renee - I really appreciate it :)

How do I buy your pre biotic fibre and the mct oil you mentioned and what is your book called how do I order it is the bullet proof coffee Just coffee butter and MCT oil
Yes!!! Finally
Interviewer did a great job letting the guest talk, and asking relevant , well timed, questions.
Thank you!!
I fasted for a total of at least 72 hours per week for six months. I was a size 14 in the beginning, now I’m a size 6. Apparently I did something right.
Great work Tina - thanks for sharing!
Were the 72 hours consecutive?
@@81redddd lol. No. She spread a 72 hour fast thru a two year period. Duh.
You can go to far....!!!!
3 days a week @ 24 hours fast
As a post menopausal woman trying to lose weight through Intermittent Fasting, working out doing HIIT, cardio, etc.....I have learned so much from his research on women. I was over training, hair thinning, hair loss, cold all of the time, not losing weight or inches. All I did was stop working out intensely, started doing yoga, stopped fasting 20/4 most days of the week, and my body started changing, and still is. I have not weighed myself because it messes with my mind horribly. Havent measured myself because it's all numbers. I feel better, my clothes are fitting better, my hair is no longer falling out. It's been mind blowing. I listened to another interview about a month ago and I am finally seeing results. What he days works. I dont use bulletproof coffee but I sometimes add butter to my coffee. It helps on my 24hr fasts. I do a 24hr fast once a week. I cant do any longer or my sleep gets really messed up.
Thanks for sharing Yvette! Happy you listened to your body and are now seeing results :) All the best!!
How you mean you stopped fastinf 20h/4 is that not good?
@@J2LO No I was not saying it is not good. It was not good for me is what I was saying. It works for some people...
So happy for you. Thanks for sharing. I haven't figured myself out yet. It is encouraging and insightful to hear people openly discussing their process and mastering their wellness.
Yvette Bennett.. I am post menopausal and been fasting 20/4, or 23/1… then also doing 48 hr with a 72 hr a week or two at a time.. My results have been 0 weight lose and even gaining a lb or 2 of fat.. I follow a Carnivore 98 to 99 % of time..! No inches lost and no lbs lost.. done this for two months following 2 very successful months of Ribeyes only with a 12 lb of fat loss and 7.5 “ lost and maintained even to date. I don’t bother w/ a lb or 2 in fluctuation if my diet, sleep and moderate exercise is consistent.
I think I need to reduce strict fasting and eat 2 meals 3 days a week and IT 2 days and do one 24 hr fast a week. Sed how this. helps body balance and start releasing fat… Presently my body is holding on tightly to fat … Your note as well as this great informative interview with both guest and interviewer was so helpful!! Thank you all… 😁👍
The host (and his guest) is amazing! The ability to let his guest explain and educate nearly uninterrupted is something to behold! Just subscribed!
Thanks for the love and welcome to the channel :)
This guest is a great storyteller with a great rhythm and cadence that doesn’t need a lot of prompting to cover the main points.
Totally agree with you✨
I agree! I was thinking the same thing!
Hunger is almost never ever experienced, but cravings are real. Fasting without suffering is real. I have experienced this over the past five years.🤠
One 'trick' that helped me when I first tried fasting was doing a mental reframing. When I saw food somewhere, instead of feeling, "That looks good I want to eat it," I reframed it into something like, "That pizza (or whatever) is just another object like a pencil, or car tire, or chair, etc." That reframing allowed me to not have to use willpower to resist. Nobody has to use willpower to resist eating a car tire.
Dave is an incredible, natural speaker, you can tell his heart is truly in this.
And you just know that his biohacking has made him more concise and clear minded.. and clear hearted!
Love that he has created more content for women. There’s a lot of smart men in this space that don’t seem to address women’s needs. Ty Dave
I follow the Keto Kamp CZcams channel. He is amazing and Dr . Mindy Pelz CZcams channel , Mindy Actually specializes in women and fasting she's literally the best . These two people have helped me tremendously. Best wishes for you 🙏🏼💕

No matter what you think of this man, there is always room for a new book on fasting. David has helped to change my life forever! I practice Intermittent fasting every day and I have shed over 70 lbs of fat and I have about 40 lbs left. I do drink a keto/butter/fat coffee every day for the past five years!🤠
P.S. I started a CZcams channel to be a friend to everyone that I can!🤠
Do you use Kerry gold butter?
People in Himalayas living in extreme weather and high altitudes in Ladakh and Tibet have been drinking butter in salt tea for centuries .
I water fasted 31 days and felt great. I only stopped when I started feeling dizzy. The next month I ended up eating soups, seafood, and meats, and unknowingly high purine rich veggies. Oh boy did I get a gout attack in my knee. I removed all those foods and am better now. I really had to rethink everything. This is a very valuable resource. Going to be adding his amazing suggestions! Wish I saw this first! I will be adding the bulletproof prebiotic coffee to my daily plan! Love this 😍😍😍
Thanks for sharing and all the best on your health journey!
That is the most powerful feeling I’ve ever had! To not need food. It’s OK. Love it
I agree.. Tried OMAD couple of weeks ago then decided to skip a meal and go another 24 hrs. Kept pushing it and did 96 hrs in the end, still can't believe I managed it, it's the first time I have EVER felt in control of what I put in my mouth!!! I'm back on OMAD now but looking forward to the next extended fast . I lost a some too incidentally but this is overshadowed by the sense of finally having control.
I heard someone say eat to live not live to eat. The best thing Ive ever heard. Ive found that unless Im stress eating I actually require less food. As I get older Im not hungry all the time which is great because I dont have the metabolism of a teenaged athelete anymore lol.
Thank you Dave I am 66 African American never was a coffee drinker tea was my love. Bullet proof coffee helped me to fast 16hrs no craving, felt unbelievable with energy. I never was obsessed with food, I went from 172 lbs to 125lbs. That was my weight in my 20s. I told her about Bullet proof and how the grassfed butter suppressed your appetite. This young lady loss 90lbs 110 she currently weigh i am so in control of my desire to eat because of Bullet coffee. Thanks N.J fan.
So happy to hear! Wishing you continued success on your health journey!
I really appreciate your honest experiences with Keto and fasting. Love your books. I’m On fasting right now (32 hrs +). I started keto, learning fasting 1/1/21. and love bulletproof coffee. I am a 71 y.o. Female. Lost 14# and still learning. Couldn’t do it without people like you.

This fasting stuff is awesome! Been doing it for 2 months now and I ain't never goin back. Fasting along with cold water treatment, breathing and exercise is the magic bullet
Love this!!
I want to try fasting but I get so hungry and queasy with no food. Maybe it just takes time.
@@pattic6077 The hunger thing is easy to overcome. I eat a massive lunch every day and usually don't even start thinking about food until around 9pm. And then I just tell myself I'm going to sleep soon anyway.
But the interesting thing you learn is that it's really not hunger you are feeling, it's craving and them two things are different. Hunger sets in when your body is deficient and it has no more energy to burn. Craving is just that and it becomes pretty easy to ignore.
I still get cravings, my mouth will water and my stomach will growl sometimes but I know the difference between hunger and craving. After about a week I got really used to it. 3 months in and it isn't hard at all anymore
@@thecatguy4301 thank you so much for replying. Do you make bulletproof coffee to help you fast or just drink it black etc?
@@pattic6077 I get enough of what I need when I eat my meals so for the coffee I just drink it black. I probably would do the bullet proof coffee if I made it at home but I go to a coffee shop every morning
I started healthy keto almost three months ago. Lost 10lbs the first month and nothing since! I bought his book while I was listening to this interview. I’ve been desperate to figure out what is wrong. So much of what he mentioned has been true for me. I’m going to switch up my mornings to C8MCT coffee as a start and go from there. His deep dive into gut health resonates too. So important.
Thanks for watching and all the best on your health journey! :)
Hypoglybitchy! 🤣🤣🤣
I finally came to terms with my hunger. It's ok to feel hunger and not let it control me. Acknowledge it and let it pass. It was a huge deal for me because of food deprivation as a child. It's so nice to not be constantly obsessed with food.
Happy to hear you're on the right track Sheri :)
I been doing 24hr fast I'm ready to prolong fast now super excited for this!!!
You're amazing Dave.. you're right supposedly the elderly have enough energy to help others for the wisdom they have. My grandma in Morocco jst died, 93, was still able to make ppl laugh and enjoy talking to her till 2 daya before her death.

I used to find him quite unapproachable, a bit fanatic and arrogant in some other interviews, but I have to agree that he's totally sympatethic in this one. Perhaps I've misjudged him.

@@PerfectCarCare plastic surgery or not the skin is in great condituon.
Collagen in bulletproof coffee
There’s some makeup work there …
Amazjng video so far and I'm only 30 minutes in!
Big takeaways from first ⅓ of video:
1. Eat an early dinner, don't snack after that.
2. Have coffee or bulletproof coffee in the morning to activate ketones
3. Wait until lunch for your first meal and you've already achieved a 16 hour fast.
4. Coffee details: straight black coffee is acceptable as it will activate ketones while giving energy; coffee with 1 tsp butter or MCT oil is better. Adding insoluble fiber like acacia fiber to that mixture is optimal as it will feed the good bacteria in the gut and also help you feel full.
Blend the coffee with butter / oil; doing this processes the water molecules in such a way that they can be utilized by the body immediately vs. having to convert them.
If the coffee you're having is making you angry or jittery or hungry, chances are it is a moldy batch as clean coffee doesn't give these side effects. There are no regulations in the US for acceptable mold levels in coffee beans. Switch coffee brands.
5. Women should fast 3-4 times per week and have breakfast other days to avoid negative impacts to their menstrual cycle.*
6. Cellular flexibility is the goal; occasional breakfasts are good so the mitochondria don't lose the ability to run off carbs. This will avoid plateaus as the body likes variety.
7. Having the fat first thing in morning trains the cells that they are safe to start burning fat all the time.
*edit: this is where I messed up fasting personally, as I was all or nothing, hit a wall and started having negative side effects. I had written-off fasting as not for me - until now!
Incredible summary - good luck fasting again :)

I was 196 lbs when I decided to make changes to my diet. I’m 5’10’’ and I did not look terribly, however I started having some diabetes symptoms. I immediately cut out sugars and gradually reduced intake of breads and other carbohydrates. At some point I removed them with one exception, I eat small spoon of rice with my dinner. It took about 6 months for my weight to go down to 162 lbs. I stalled. I was already eating 2 meals per day, lunch and dinner but I was not strict to timing. This is when I decided to do OMAD. My weight started going down again, but not as rapid as before. Took another 3-4 months for my weight to settle around 158 lbs. Currently I do OMAD for two days, next I will eat lunch, following day I will do OMAD or eat again. On weekends I will eat breakfast and skip lunch. I noticed that I need more meat in my diet. Interesting that this makes my weight to go down. Some days I have mostly animal products, other days I have some carbs too. Occasionally I will have ice cream or croissant.
Thanks for sharing your journey - best to you!

I did 82 hours water fasting, but I only drink water with salt after sunset until midnight or so. Lost 8 lbs, but most of it water. But earlier, I was fasting 16+ hours dry fasting skipping breakfast until 16+ hours reached.
I'm still skipping breakfast and sometimes I fast for 24 hrs to 36 hrs. No fat to lose anymore other than little skin on my stomach over my abs. Cold shower and push ups twice daily before cold shower.
No more sodas and donuts, but I get to enjoy some sweet tea in the 8 hrs window and once in awhile, I eat cake. Easy to burn when you fast. Metabolism burns my calories. I'm 51 with no eye bags. My face was round and now muscular with thick neck bc of push ups

I had never had breakfast before until commercial came with tagline breakfast is the most important meal. So, I ate 3-5 times per day. What happened to me was I feel tired, and sleepy all the time. As the result, I could not concentrate and feel lazy.
After starting intermitent fasting by eating a meal a day (almost 2 months), things chage differently, my blood pressure become normal. And importantly, I feel rejuvenated, energized, healthier and happier and also became productive, never feel sleepy and lazy during day since then.

Fasting makes me feel better, but weight loss is still a struggle, even on Keto and with exercising. I drink bulletproof coffee every mid-morning, and then eat from 12pm-5pm. I have a calorie deficit too. I'm doing all the right things, but weight loss is very slow. I'm losing about a half a pound a week. I truly feel that my body is just too smart and predictable, and knows how to circumvent all my efforts!
Great man
Thanks so much for this episode! I started my keto journey back in November 2019 and implemented bulletproof fasting (BPC for breakfast while 16/8 fasting) and keto. By June 2020, I lost 46lbs without incorporating any exercise. Unfortunately, things started to change in my life and I went off of strict keto and did more of a relaxed low carb diet, still incorporating some keto principles. Since June 2020, I have gained back around 20lbs and have tried to get back on keto and start exercising but no luck has come with weight loss. After trying back keto so many times, I am now wondering if keto just doesn't work for me anymore. Any thought on where to go from here?
