  • Build article: craftedworkshop.com/build-diy... In this video, I'll show you how to build a DIY light box sign using inexpensive LED lights. I made my light box into a sign, but there are tons of options! You could turn it into wall art for your kid's room or game room, or even make a similar sign for your business' lobby. Enjoy!

    Love it, dude! I really like how the colored LEDs came out. Wish I would have gone with those. Enjoy the sign!

      Thanks man! Yours is way brighter though, I can barely tell mine is on my with my shop lights on.

  • @HeathKnuckles_Tasty_Timber

    Awesome build! The sign looks great!!

  • @letsmakesomethingawesometo8266

    Nice one! Last lightbox I made just used cut vinyl and you can see the bubbles, I'll have to give this a try with my cheap laser engraver.

    All signs point to a GREAT PROJECT! LOL! I really like how it came out, and walnut is the best!

    I'm doing this. I have a maker Fair on Feb 4th. That would be a cool multipurpose add on. Of course I'll do something a little different since I'm not as heavy into the wood working as you.

      Cool! It's a great little project, super simple to knock out in an afternoon.

    I am curious to what type of paint you used. I would like to do this same thing for my shop. Thank you in advance

    Cool, turned out nice! You could always hit the white paint with a bit of 320 grit sandpaper. It should soften the amount on there and diffuse it rather than block it.

    Very cool. I think the laser cut sign making video is down? I'm wondering how exactly you did that. Was it just a piece of Plexi with a black surface, which you etched off with the laser cutter? Or did you paint the plexi to give it the black layer? Thanks for any help and awesome work.

    Quick idea: You could use glass that is frosted on One side, make that Side Face the Inside of the Frame, attach the Light all around the the inner Side of the wood-planks, paint the Inside of the backpannel white to get Diffusion and indirect lighting

    • @craftedworkshop
      @craftedworkshop  Před 6 lety +1

      That would definitely work and it’d look great!

    I think the lights are the issue more than the paint. I don't think you'll get nearly as bright light from a battery pack.

    • @craftedworkshop
      @craftedworkshop  Před 7 lety

      Yea, you might be right. I'm probably going to add another light pack before doing another event.

  • @fsecofficial

    You could have just used white vinyl instead of pain and use a 12v LED strip. Nice work!

    Shoud have just plotter cut black vinyl and put it down on the white acrylic. I own a sign shop....you did it the hard/wrong way ;). You also didn't space your LED's correctly.
