    Gotta disagree Zemo was the best marvel villain they've had. His plot made sense, he didn't needed huge screen time and not only that but he fucking won. He divided the avengers. You guys really need to watch the movie again, zemo was totally needed.

      I liked how Zemo played out in the movie, especially because his motivation paralleled the mother in front of the elevator. Although they she chose to confront Stark, Zemo chose to destroy the Avengers. I'd still put Loki as the best Marvel Villain, but Zemo is still around, and may evolve into more of a major villain character, closer to the comic counterpart. Which in the film he shared his name, and that's about it. He's in prison, so there may be experiments. Especially with Gen. Ross seeming in command. He may begin to assemble his own task force like in the comics.

    I disagree on zemo not being needed. He was a walking personification of the avenger's failures. He's their mistakes given form, and coming back to haunt them. His plan makes sense. All of the "conveniences" are him taking time to know how the characters react to minor stimulus. I'd concede it to be "convenient" if the effects/results weren't consistent with the targeted characters.

      I think he's the strongest villain marvel have had... because his effects are so subtle and he succeeds in his desire to tear them apart.
      There's no complexity that Loki offers, he's simply a broken man who wants vengeance, but that is still compelling.

      +Moist Von Lipwig I agree. A friend of mine also mentioned about the convenience of a CCTV camera in 1991 when Winter Soldier killed Ton'y's parents but then it can be explained away that HYDRA can easily set that up for documentation purposes that its operatives have accomplished their respective missions.

People say his plan is a bit too convenient but most of his goal can still be achieve even if it didn't unfold the way it did. If he didn't succeed... than he tried his best and will likely still commit suicide. He don't plan to live past this event no matter what.

    • @jordonfoss1022
      @jordonfoss1022 Před 8 lety +4

      +David Avery Then let's discuss him. Zemo was well motivated since his family was killed by the avengers. He was a cerebral villain. Breaking Hydra's code. Hiring Crossbones as a suicide bomb. Instigating the socovia accords. Killing T'Chaka turning Black Panther and the World's wrath on Winter Soldier. Using Bucky as a catalyst to divide the avengers since he knew he wasn't strong enough to kill them. Yet he was still polite and sincere to everyone he spoke to. Not thwarting or power crazed like other MCU villains. And he survived this film which so far only Loki has been able to do. That means his story could be far from over. And in a movie that didn't "need" him, the entire franchise can now UTILIZE him. I think Zemo is far from garbage.

    I have to totally disagree with them on Zemo. He's my favorite villain after Loki. All his motivations worked and his plan wasn't convenient his plan was evolving. There were many times where his plan didn't go exactly where he wanted but he adapted to as need be. If Tony somehow didn't make it to the Hydra base then Zemo would have adapted his plan and leaked it online or send it to Tony. That's the whole point. Zemo was just demonstrating how flawed these heroes are in that they're just humans who can be broken just as much as anyone else. And he didn't even throw one punch. I thought Zemo was genius and not some typical villain but he had a depth and brilliance to him that really made this movie as amazing as it was.

    I know you said it's weird how Zemo knew Iron Man would join Cap in Siberia so that he could play the tape but you have to remember that Zemo called the hotel to bring him his lunch so that when the lady came to bring his bacon and coffee to the room, she'd find the body and his fake mask and that would let Iron Man know that Cap was telling the truth.

BUT i would have liked zemo to have more impact. i would have put zemo in the first fight instead of crossbones and have him escape from the avengers. crossbones was totally unnecessary. it should have been zemo making them look like idiots and escape and trigger bombs which wanda would try to contain but fail instead of suicide bombing stupidity by crossbones.

    • @GeekOwtLowd
      @GeekOwtLowd Před 8 lety +5

      Also. Zemo was established as a man with contingency plans. There was a whole sequence of when he was interrogating the Hydra agent. Zemo said that he would just get what he wanted in some other way. They put that sequence in deliberately so that we would understand that none of Zemo's plans were dependant on any specific outcomes. If Tony had not shown up with Cap and Bucky then Zemo would have done something else.

      Nope, I liked him. I bought into his story and motivation. I believed Brulh as the character was dangerous and twisted. I enjoyed the reveal of his motivation and plotting. I think without him then the set up and frame of Bucky doesn't make sense and then you lose the awesome motivation for Black Panther. Not that these thing couldn't have been accomplished without Zemo but I liked using him for moving the plot forward. Yes, the ending was convienient but it didn't bother me. I loved the ending scene with Zemo and Panther. I think saying he wasn't needed in the movie overlooks how intrigal his actions were to bringing about the chase for Bucky and panthers motivation for joining the fight. Yes the avengers would have still been on opposite side but the reason for the action was bringing Bucky in and without Zemo' s framing him that wouldn't have been necessary.

    31:50 It actually wasn't convenient when you think about it. Zemo let the hotel landlady see the corpse in the bathroom because he knew that news would get to the avengers, and Stark, soon enough. So it made sense to me that Iron Man showed up in the bunker. Much of the plot might seem hackneyed unless you have multiple viewings and pay close attention :)

    • @Flaris
      @Flaris Před 8 lety +13

      +thtr1310 Yeah, I just don't get how they don't get that. It wasn't convenient, it was planned. Zemo knew he had Cap and Bucky after him from the interrogation he did with Bucky. He only did that to set the stage and trick the heroes. Once he had them on their way then he leaked information to get Stark to clue in on what was going on and so he'd get there. Sure, he didn't know when Tony would get there, but he was in a bunker....he could wait for Cap to call in Iron Man.
      After all Tony said that he could get through that wall with time, but Cap couldn't. Thus, Cap would have to ask for Tony's help to get to the villain. He'd have to go there even if he didn't figure out where Zemo was.

  • @RJ-Ramen
    @RJ-Ramen Před 8 lety +27

    Zemo is underrated. He's JUST A MAN, who took down Earth's Mightiest Heroes.
    What cant he do? Who cant he manipulate? Like he said: "an individual with skill and experience can do anything." How can you trump the experience and skill of taking down the Avengers?
    Zemo served the story. He did what no other Avengers villain could do: he broke them. He was cerebral and calculating. He wasn't grandstanding and over the top like most villians. This was a very human story and it needed a villian with human motivations.
    He wanted to split apart the Avengers to prevent them from hurting anyone else and was going to die knowing he completed his goal and this would enable him to 'be with his family'. Its one of the more interesting aspects of the character, where the villain recognises his actions are evil but views them as for the greater good.
    Its even hinted earlier in the film that a regular person who lost their son in Sokovia might follow a similar path of revenge when she shows Tony a picture of her son. I think that early MIT scene was a subtle hint of Sokovia having MULTIPLE ramifications for the team. It was another facet of the personal and emotional consequences.
    The Avengers created their own villian here. The team just happened to create a victim who was an individual blessed with immense skill, perseverance, intelligence and unfortunate anguish. There's so many victims of the Avengers recklessness and Zemo just happens to be the quintessential "vengeful" victim. When anyone is victimized, they tend to eventually have some feelings of vengeance and anger. Zemo is all of that personified.

    Zemo was a fantastic 3rd party character. Love that he wasn't a full-on antagonist, we didn't need one in this movie, we just needed Cap vs Tony and that's what we got, with some help from Zemo. Everything about this movie was handled PERECTLY.

    Like a lot of other people in the comment section, I disagree with you guys about Zemo. He's the first MCU villain to accomplish what no other villain has: He tore the Avengers apart. I do agree that I didn't need him to be in the movie because I just wanted to see the heroes fight because of their philosophical differences, but he was effective and accomplished a lot as a villain. Other than that this movie was amazing. Here are my pros and cons.
    -Pros
    1. The action scenes (not just the airport scene, because there were sooooo many other ones) are the best I've seen in a superhero movie.
    2. The film got me emotionally invested in the characters and the issue.
    3. There was tension in the movie and some parts made me feel nervous. There were real stakes.
    4. Every single character was done justice and they all got enough screen time and development while it's very clear that this is still Cap's movie.
    5. Spiderman and Black Panther were incredible in the movie and got perfect introductions. Especially Spiderman. This is the live action Spiderman that we deserve. I can't wait for both of their solo films.
    6. As I stated before, the villain wasn't a horribly done, throwaway villain like a lot of the other MCU movies.
    7. The movie had a lot of humor but it wasn't too much and didn't oversaturate the film like what happened with Age of Ultron. Plus the jokes worked and weren't shoved in during serious moments. I was overall thoroughly entertained.
    8. They handled the same type of issue that BvS dealt with a lot better than BvS handled it. I don't normally like comparing Marvel and DC but it's hard not to, in this case, when these two movies use a similar issue with philosophical differences and conflict between superheros. Daredevil season 2 also did it better than BvS.
    -Cons
    1. Marvel had an opportunity to kill a key character and get the audience even more emotional but that didnt happen. In a way it seemed like they marketed this movie like someone was gonna eat it and I got fooled by it.
    2. As I stated before, they didn't need to have Zemo in the movie. But to counter this, he was effective as a villain overall.
    I saw this movie twice already and I plan on seeing it again. This might honestly be my favorite Marvel movie ever and is definitely now one of my favorite comic book movies ever overall. I have it either 2nd or 3rd behind the Dark Knight. This movie was just so entertaining overall and had a compelling plot. It's everything you want in an ensemble superhero film. The Russo Bros outdid themselves with this. I give it a solid 9/10.

      +Akil Brazier Here's my question;
      During the movie, Zemo wants to tear the Avengers apart, because he can't kill them. "Better men than me have tried"
      And then he KILLS THE OTHER WINTER SOLDIERS. THEY WERE THE BETTER (wo)MEN. You could at least have them TRY To kill the Avengers.
      Maybe you show Tony the video, THEN you hit them with the Winter Soldier Squad while Iron Man has to deal with the emotional baggage of dead parents.
      That didn't make much sense to me.

      Sethabee Yea I can understand that. But he did say that he didn't want more of them. It would've been cool to see a Cap, WS, and IM vs Winter Soldier Squad fight but it would've just been another hero vs villain boss fight. I'm glad that these guys ended up fighting each other rather than the other winter soldiers because it was different than any other comic book movie. But all I can think of is that he might not be able to control them once he lets them out. Idk

      +Akil Brazier I'd say Zemo's need to be in the movie would be Black Panther. They can't just have an Avengers "accident" be the death of T'Chaka. If they did that, Black Panther would never join the Avengers, even if it was an accident. And when it had to be a villain who killed his father, i'm glad it was him, rather than Crossbones, or Klaw or something.

    I'm a huge fan of you guys but I completely disagree about Zemo. I have no idea how you can think he was irrelevant when at least 2 of the most major things that happened in the movie (the bomb which caused Black Panther to join the fight and the framing of Bucky which is the majority of the conflict) were directly caused by Zemo. Add to that, he wasn't the typical villain who wanted to rule the world or destroy it but only wanted to make the Avengers pay for him losing his family, and Zemo was a great villain. He had motive, he was a sympathetic villain, and he wasn't over-the-top. Zemo was great.

  • @BaseDaKIDTheHARDCORECasual

    I think once the panel watch the film again, they'll appreciate Zemo a lot more! Even his 'convenient' moments are actually explained in the film. He gets the hotel clerk to go into his room knowing she will see the dead body in the bath tub and tell the police. It is then not unbelievable that the information would get back to Tony Stark.

Cap knowing about it just pushed tony over the edge and that last fight scene is so emotional. the story is really well done

  • @CrimsonUniverse22
    @CrimsonUniverse22 Před 8 lety +20

    Dude, I freaking LOVED Zemo. He had a motive, he was seriously driven, and it took him a YEAR of prepping and studying to pull off what he did. I completely disagree when people say you take him out, everything would've still happened in the movie. Zemo blowing up the UN opened Pandora's box. Without Zemo's working, the only conflict is Cap and Stark arguing about the accords. Zemo framing Bucky made him a target, which made Cap seek and find him, which led to Bucky revealing the super secret Winter Soldier army, which leads Cap and Stark to that place in Siberia, which leads to Stark finding out about his parents. All this, because of Zemo. No one would've figured anything out unless they themselves took time to probe declassified files in their free time. Zemo brought Bucky out of hiding which set everything into motion.
    John Campea thinks they could've used another plot device? What? What could they have done that would get Bucky out of hiding by putting all eyes in the WORLD on him?? An explosion caused by an accident? That's stupid and really forced. Framing Bucky is the perfect setup that would make sense and relatable (a victim of the Avenger's good intentions getting revenge on the Avengers), and that ONLY comes from someone MAKING it happen.
    When Everett Ross was mocking him and telling him his plan failed and Zemo said, "Did it?" implying he actually won this. He didn't kill any Avengers, he split them apart. Now half of them are fugitives. No villain came close to doing that. His motivations were clear. He lost everyone, his dad, wife and son. He snapped, big time. He planned on not making it out alive (suicide), so he went all out. He planned this thoroughly. He's more cunning and driven than ANY MCU villain other than Loki.

Rhodey is fucked up, Widow is likely on the run too, because I'm pretty sure her helping Cap and Bucky escape will come out. T'Challa is back at home, Parker has homework to do (lol), Rogers and his side are all hiding now. Who is left? I mean, if you think about it, Stark and Vision is a pretty powerful combo in and of itself. But they themselves are fractured.
      Zemo was largely responsible for all of this. Yeah, the accords set the stage for differing of opinions, but Zemo's actions took the conflict to greater heights.

      +Tury Gerardo Yeah. It was unique because the villain got what he wanted... even if he didn't do jackshit. I thought it would be 5 Winter soldiers vs Cap / Bucky / Ironman, just a mindless ending fight scene of good vs evil. What we got was the villain turn on his heels and made the two sides (mind you, this was when Steve and Tony recently became besties again) against each other in a whole raging level. It wasn't just fighting another mindless villains to strengthen their "friendship", high fiving after punching another Winter Soldier, but the villain chose to corrode their strained relationship even more, putting the stakes way higher than unleashing brain dead super soldiers against the Friendship club.
      It was a stroke of genius that sadly many doesn't notice. The fight at the end has more weight and meaning than just another Disney ending of friendship forever and ever.

The philosophical differences between Steve & Tony have been started in past movies. So when he makes up its more of a temporary "my bad" moment but he still doesn't believe in his cause. Especially since he's known about the truth of his parents the whole time and still defended him. Tony felt betrayed by Steve who he thought was his close friend. So that reveal just broke what was an already broken relationship.... But hey to each his own... go ahead and enjoy Wonder Woman reading her emails, cause that's great movie making.

He knew once that was released to the public that Tony would side with Cap and come to help him, who was headed for the base. that's how he knew all of them would end up there. imo Zemo was a subdued but great villain and did the character from the comic books justice with how he outsmarted the Avengers at every turn.

    Completely disagree with y'all about the villain. I feel like Zemo is one of the best MCU villains. Not only was his acting and motivation on par, story wise he didn't even need to have Iron Man, Cap, and Bucky show up to see the footage. He just needed to get access to the footage and deliver it to Stark to do what he needed to break the Avengers. And as far as sneaking in the base goes, he's an infiltrator! He wouldn't be good at his job if couldn't pull a fast one on a government facility! And story was also clearly needed to give Black Panther an arc. Black Panther was driven by revenge, so was Zemo, for the same reason too, and when he understood Zemo's issue he practically looked at him and said, "I don't want to be like you". One of the reasons he didn't kill him right on the spot. Lastly even though this Zemo didn't have the Purple Mask, he was still had the same motivation as the comics version "the heores ruined my family, so I will now ruin them".

  • @waydigga1982
    @waydigga1982 Před 8 lety +13

    When you think of a villain in a story, you want someone who has legit motivations. In a super hero movie, you want someone who is formidable. Zemo isnt superhuman, therefore he's not formidable. He's highly intelligent and calculating. He set events in motion that drove the Avengers apart. I feel like the Accords alone wasnt enough to split the team. There still wouldve been a difference in opinion, but what wouldve happened without Zemo is, whoever was against the accords simply wouldve walked away peacefully from the team. Bucky's "involvement" in the bombing got in the way of a civil difference if opinion. Cap wanted to save Bucky from execution only. And in doing so, he aligned himself opposite the establishment (on top of his stance on freedom). Zemo made that happen and he had valid reasons for driving a wedge in the team. In this movie, Zemo was an ideal villain bc there wasnt room for "global threat" type villain. A conniving, manipulating villain is perfect bc he drives the story fwd without getting in the way of the main story.

    Zemo is the new "Loki" of MCU villains. He was brilliant, manipulative, and resourceful. He was the reason the airport and end fight scenes happened. He was the reason Bucky was a fugitive. Without that Cap has no reason to physically fight over a philosophical difference. The most he would have done was go rouge & search for Bucky. There was no situation outside of Zemo in the film that would have warranted Avenger involvement, therefore there wouldn't have been a film. Cap wouldn't have told Tony about his parents and they would have reached some kind of compromise with the govegovernment.

      +jason evelio I agree 100% I think they saved Zemo's character to set up the Masters Of Evil. Ok his first plan of having the Avenger's defeat themselves didn't work, no problem he'll form a team of super villains like the anti-Avengers to get the job done.

      +jason evelio Imagine if somewhere on that prison where Caps team was held they were also holding Abomination and other unnamed villains that the Avengers fought between Avengers 1&2. Maybe Zemo gets put there as well. Maybe Zemo never intended to kill himself. Maybe it was his plan to get sent there and release someone who could go toe to toe with the Hulk (who is conveniently missing). Think about it. If his plan works he has only gotten rid of HALF of the Avengers. I personally think he has gotten a hold of the super soldier serum. Either leftovers from killing Stark or through the blood of one of those winter soldiers b4 killing them.

    I think Zemo was necessary, didn't need to be the character Zemo. Could have been John Doe, but necessary. His plan was to destroy an "Empire". The empire was the Avengers and he knew the only way to do that was for them to destroy themselves. He then realized that Bucky could be the catalyst. I think the accord was just conveniently helped him. He got the mission report from Bucky and realized that the Russian base could have what he needed drive them apart. So he used the threat of the other Winter Solider's to do that. If anything the accords messed up he plan because under reg circumstances the entire team would have showed up to that base. Where he would have used to the video to drive them to battle.

First the plan is to obtain the soviet red book, then to have some minutes with Bucky, then to bring everyone to Siberia by calling the hotel and make them discovered the body of the real psychologist (Who is Anthony Russo btw haha), maybe a little convenient but I buy it, I prefer to see it as if he is a great manipulator.

    • @martfp88
      @martfp88 Před 8 lety

      Bruce Reich I feel we are talking about almost the same thing. My point is that he obviously didn't know every single thing in a convenient way since the beginning, he obviously didn't know about Siberia until he talked with Bucky, arguably maybe he didn't even known about the footage either, until obtaining the book. He is obsessed to find out the details of the mission in 1991 probably because he knows that Bucky killed Starks parents there but he needs more information to finish his plans, otherwise he wouldn't ask about the mission report, he would just ask about the location of the base in Siberia. He had a plan all along, but the way he wanted to execute it was adapted with the information he was obtaining along the way. That, for me, is what an excellent and more real strategist does.

      +Martin Elizalde Lecuona im glad someone caught on this too. you are spot on about his plans evolving constantly, because there was a scene after Zemo activated Winter Soldier with the "words", he was at the airport listening to the recorded message from his wife, then he saw the news reporting that Winter Soldier went missing with Steve Rogers. His reaction was different, he knew his plans was "diverted" but he had enough to still go on with his plans because he knew Winter Soldier would end up leading them to Siberia, which explains why Winter Soldier was trying to pilot the Helicopter on the roof. I dont think a lot of people caught on that and thats why its worth re-watching Civil War more than once XD

    Zemo knew Tony Stark would show up in the end because he set up everything in a way that Dr. "Fake Bucky"'s body would be found in his hotel room (he even calls room service to make sure of that) right before he arrived at the base. So, he knew Tony would find out that Bucky wasn't to blame for the bombing and that he has been played, which would mean he and Cap would probably join forces to go after Zemo himself, culminating in them fighting each other because of the tape reveal.

    As a DC and Marvel fan I've got no idea which movie these guys watched when they talk about Zemo. Zemo was a great fucking villain. One of the best the MCU has got.
    He was a Bond villain in this movie. Better than the most recent Bond villains we've goten in recent Bond movies. Those villains had even more over the top, crazy convoluted plans filled with holes than Zemo's plans.
    Zemo was totally interesting. Leader of a death squad: explains his skills.
    He had a tragic backstory: explains his motivations.
    He set everything in motion to set the Avengers up against each other. Without him the Civil War wouldn't have happened. He baited the Avengers to Siberia and he put them against each other.
    And about the diguise. This is the movie universe that made Black Widow into an entire different woman that infiltrated that meeting with Pierce.
    And about the book. Zemo need it to get to Bucky. Using him to understand what happened during that night Howard Stark died. He attacked the UN to frame Bucky and cause more hardship for The Avengers. He wanted to rip them apart from within. He was filled with rage and feelings of revenge. So he took his time to plan this out and to make them suffer.
    This is an over the top superhero movie. So expect the villain to be over the top too. Zemo even was calm in a way, calculating. I thought he was great.
    Better motivations and development than Ronan, Yellow Jacket, Malekith etc. They had no build up at all. We've learned quite a bit about Zemo.

    I don't think anyone has caught this parallel, but there are similarities for when Cap says "I can do this all day" in the First Avenger alley fight and near the end of Civil War. In both instances, Steve is about to lose the fight, but he is showing bravery in his defeat. When hope appears to be lost, Bucky comes in and is able to save him. In the First Avenger, it is by beating up the bully after he knocks down Steve and in Civil War, he grabs Ironman's leg which allows Steve to change the tide of the fight. I just thought I'd throw this out there because it tied the whole Cap trilogy together in my head.

    Some people just want to complain about Marvel villains, but Zemo was probably one of their best. People might have expected him to be the big bad threat looming in the background, but instead he was just a motivated and resourceful man with a vendetta. When Spider-man is describing a dangerous man who believes, it applies to everyone in this movie: Zemo, Panther, Tony, and Steve. In the end Zemo also basically won.
    Zemo's plan was centered around getting all the details surrounding the death of Howard Stark, that was his line of questioning. I believe the ending was not Zemo's exact plan but just worked out better for him. He specifically wanted to lure Tony to the base so that he could discover all the evidence of Bucky's involvement in Howard's death. Driving Tony to seek revenge on Bucky was the overall plan because no matter who hurt who, the Avengers would end up split.

    The action delivered.
    The plot was incredible.
    The humour is used well and not excessive (unlike AoU)
    The performances were the best they have been in any MCU movie thus far (especially RDJ).
    The score was fantastic.
    The visual effects were fantastic.
    The cinematography was amazing (especially in the Airport fight)
    The introduction of new characters was done masterfully.
    10/10 for me but I need to watch it again.

    It was hard watching Stark see his parent get killed while Bucky, Steve, and Zemo were eyeing him. It was a time bomb waiting to go off, like Han walking out to meet Kylo. You knew it was happening and you're just shaking your head, saying "no no no stop it please no STOP IT NOOOOO" as if you KNOW what's going to happen next but you HAVE to watch it unfold. It's painful but it's really good

    John usually is the one who can put these small pieces in movies into place, but he forgot this thing.
    Zemo called Roomservice to his hotellroom when he was in Russia in order for his "Bucky"-mask and the body of real psychologist to be discovered, so that he knew Tony would figure out that Bucky was framed and that he would follow them there.
    So it actually made perfect sense.

    I liked Zemo, I liked him a lot. He was a villain who did not come in the way of what the audience wanted to see, the Civil War.

    Zemo's plan did make sense. Zemo ordered breakfast while not at the hotel so that the server would find the psychologist's dead body and the prosthetic face used to mimic Bucky's, knowing that Tony would be alerted to his scheming as a result and try and find Cap, who he then believed knew the truth about what was going on. Even if Tony didn't show up at the Hydra base, it can be assumed Zemo would've then sent the video of Bucky killing Tony's parents to a place where Tony would see it anyway. Zemo did get lucky sometimes with regards to his plan but this was the best one he could come up with, it's not like he was carrying it out for fun and so, could realise this easily couldn't work and give up, he was determined to avenge his family and was willing to try anything to get revenge. I thought Zemo was a great villain due to how refreshing he was, he's just a normal guy with a very human, sympathetic motive, and he succeeded at hurting the Avengers more than any other villain by using intelligence, not brute force.
    BTW Schnepp, the Avengers had to kill every single Ultron robot to kill him.

    • @Kamanda010
      @Kamanda010 Před 8 lety +3

      His motivation made sense to me. He was the only villain to take on the avengers and win without throwing a single punch. He successfully broke up the avengers.

      Dude your explanation was so perfect. There's a lot of people who I think missed the point of Zemo. He's my favorite villain behind Loki in the MCU. I loved the line at the end.
      Martin Freeman: Your whole scene, it failed!
      Zemo: Did it?
      Then the cut to all the Avengers broken apart. Vision alone in the Avengers tower. Rhodes can't walk anymore. Black Widow is on the run. Cap rescues the imprisoned Avengers and are fugitives now. Bucky has to be frozen. The Avengers are broken at the end and only something like Thanos is going to be able to bring them together.

    I really liked Zemo and thought he was one of the better MCU villains... He had a purpose and a goal, and was able to outsmart everyone. I also love the fact how Zemo killed the other winter soldiers instead of using them to fight Cap/Tony/Bucky.
    He was also the first villain to actually win. I think? Unless there was a previous villain who won. And also did it without having to actually fight any of them.

      +Beastinrocks I too liked the fact that he killed the other Winter Soldiers. I'd like to think his motivations for doing it were because he didnt want anymore "monsters" running loose killing innocent people. Also Balck Panther and him sharing something in common was very awesome, it showed the contrast between reckless revenge and moral choices. Zemo is gonna be very underrated, which sucks I thought he was great. The best part is that for once, the villain stayed alive so we will see more of him. If only Lex Luthor would be half of what Zemo was, BvsS would have been that much better

      I totally agree! He brought a nice contrast to the movie imo, and I do not think the movie could have been as good without him ( I've heard a lot of people say they should have left him out.) I really did enjoy zemo,and thought it was nice to have a really intelligent villain. (unlike lex in Bvs) Oh yes, and I could really see where he was coming from motivation wise! The Russo's really have outdone themselves with the storytelling!

    We often see complaints about Marvel having bad villains, but maybe that's because the real villain is Tony Stark. If you look at the entire series of movies, Stark is the underlining bad guy all along.

      Rogelio Rocha I agree, sad to see him go so quick but it was a good death that gave us a scene close to the comics. Black Widow sorta filled the Spider-Man role of switching sides near the end.

    this movie had me so emotionally invested from the beginning to the end. Especially with the final fight scene where i really didn't know what would happen. I felt as though iron man could have definitely killed winter soldier or have captain america die. i had no idea what was gonna happen and it definitely added another level of intensity to the movie. I also loved how you knew everyone motives and why they were on that certain team. amazing movie

    Kristian, you want to know why it was so easy for Zemo to know Iron Man would be there? because he set everything up so Iron Man would realize his mistake and ultimately try to help Cap and Buck. He left obvious evidence Buck was framed and he knew ultimately they were a team to begin with.

  • @Superion74

    I think Civil War is not just the best MCU movie, but the best superhero movie. And I believe the Captain America trilogy has officially replaced the TDK trilogy as the greatest superhero trilogy in history. This movie has it all: humor, emotions, and action. It is serious, and heart-breaking at times, and yet they knew how to add some levity so the audience won't be numb to all the mayhem and carnage. It's the movie that we will be watching and discussing for years to come.
