I love the entire episode is building up to Leslie failing horribly. In a delightful subversion, she pulls through earning Ben's admiration and sparking the seeds of their future romance.

i think we can all agree that the moment that Ben fell for Leslie was this episode, when he said "That was Leslie Knope". And the moment that Leslie fell for Ben was when he asked her to go eat at the flower mural which is Leslies favorite spot.
And he brought her soup...and waffles from JJ's and we all knew he was the right one for her.
I’m so happy this was the top comment. Leslie saying “I’m Leslie monster” is possibly my favorite line from the show, watch it often, but leslie’s fortitude and ben falling for her is what makes this great. Thanks lora for such a well written comment

I think that for Leslie, it was way earlier - I believe it was during Media Blitz (where she looks at him with admiration when Ben defends himself). And that mural scene - I guess she knew that Ben is her soulmate😊

3:38 - This look, right here. This is why you can kind of see why Adam Scott was in the running to play Jim Halpert on The Office. Obviously John Krasinsky was the perfect person for the role, but you can see how Adam almost fit.
It doesn’t show here, but one of my favourite parts of this episode is; before Leslie speaks Tom is not worried and he lets her speak, knowing he has nothing to worry about

As I felt it that was the moment where they definitely decided that Leslie was in fact awesome instead of the useless buffoon she was initially. That's also when the show became great.
They got both Leslie and Michael Scott wrong in their first seasons
they were kinda going for a michael scott type character in the first season with leslie
Mike Schur said in an interview that they didn't really change the Leslie character all THAT much after the first two seasons; they simply changed the way her co-workers reacted to her. If you look back at earlier episodes, you can see how differently Tom, April, and the rest of the department treats her. In early episodes, they don't respect her or take her seriously. In fact they ridiculed her regularly, especially Tom. Yes, they did make Leslie less of a buffoon from season 3 onward, but the biggest change wasn't how she behaved, it was how other characters reacted to her.

Little known fact : the most awesome part is that the "network connectivity problem" was completely improvised by Chris Pratt, the camera crew just so happened to film him at this moment. Michael Schur, the scenarist of the show was so jealous of the joke that he almost decided to cut it off the final release.

Matt S actually the commenter was wrong, what actually happened was the producer asked Chris Pratt to improvise a line as Leslie/Amy passes by that's why the camera was on Chris. It's in the video in Seth Meyers' channel that was mentioned above.
Re-shoots of improved lines are also reasonably common, as the camera and sounds crews aren't set up to properly capture the moment.
It's not that much of an inconvenience when you're probably doing multiple takes anyway.
An example would be the ~"Where is Gamora?" "I'll do you one better, who's Gamora?" "I'll do you one better, why is Gamora?"~ In Avengers: Infinity War.
The ~"I'll do you one better, why is Gamora?"~ line was improvised, and the scene was re-shot to properly capture it.
That's a super well known fact
Yeah, Mike Schur tells that story in every Parks and Rec interview or panel he's ever done. He asked Chris Pratt to improvise an "Andy" sounding line and that's what Pratt came up with.

Leslie: " You look tired and you're sweaty all the time what's your excuse? You wanna go there Gerry?!"

@@ZarkowsWorld It wasn't like The Office, they acknowledged that it was a documentary and their characters interacted with the crew in the last season. Parks and Rec was just shot in a tv mockumentary style which is like a parody.
