My best friend asked me out today, but we always knew there was something there and we even talked about it and I didn't wanna lose him and he didn't wanna lose me, and we always said I love you to each other and stuff but I knew kinda like the trust issues he had cos one of my close friends, which was his ex, was the reason we met and she was just venting about how he hasn't replied for half a day so I said 'ask him if he's okay' and she was being so stubborn and saying no and going on about her not having any reason to so I asked him and from then we got closer and I think that is one day that's gonna always stay with me, cos I know how manipulative his ex can be but we were talking today and he was just feeling shit in general so we talked to help him feel better and he said all of a sudden 'let's just start dating already, I already know how I feel about you and as much as I don't wanna lose you I want us to be closer' but I think it's just the thought of even drifting apart that kinda scared me yk and as much as we already acted like we were dating it was different to actually dating if that makes sense but every morning and every night, he's the first thing on my mind and I know that he has issues and so do I and I know he overthinks so it's cute whenever he does but he gets kinda worried whenever I don't reply and stuff cos he's honestly the first person I've properly opened up to and I'm grateful we're close and we'll hopefully get closer but as much as the thought of losing him plays on my mind, getting closer has a much bigger outcome so if it feels right then it feels right and you should just go for it yk
