DLC’s that are actually just the rest of the game should be on this list.
That’s not really a thing, you’re just mad you have to pay for extra content
@@williamphillips2671 haha yeah it is is, with rhythm games: Hatsune Miku Project Diva Mega Mix "oh you want the rest of the songs from Project Diva Future Tone, well get our DLC packs then and we are only putting 10 ENTIRELY NEW SONGS FOR THE SERIES in the game" EDIT: i'll also just mention that i'm a rhythm game aficionado so i deal with this A LOT

Yes definitely. Or the final few hours of a side quest becomes DLC

Micro-transactions & the whole "internet requirement" to play a single player game, yes I'm talking about you Ubisoft.
Don’t forget Suicide Squad
@@jackattack6430 diablo 4 too
You mean Ubishit. That company is so greedy they would make Scrooge mcduck blush.

Ubisoft only? Man, I can't think of any MAJOR studio not doing this shit already
Always online for single player games is the bane of my existence. Those are my go to when internet is having issues or something and now I can't even do that.
I played my favorite Saints Row the Third when the internet had issues
I remember when this was being pushed with the release of the Xbox One, thankfully people fought against it but these days people just don't care and are actually wanting all digital now. It makes me sad cause now the physical copy is just the content license. Ten or so years down the road we're not going to be able to replay games from previous generations. I really miss back in the day and even now where you can just pull out a PS2 and pop a game in and it'll play no problem.
@@RayvenTheNight yeah I still play gauntlet dark legacy on the PS2 from time to time. It'll be sad when I can't play the classics of this era
@@RayvenTheNightI'm not into digital. I prefer the physical disc. If a game is not on a physical disc then I just won't buy it unless it's one I really truly want
@@djrosette you won’t buy it unless it’s one you truly want? Isn’t that every game you buy? Regardless of it being a disc or digital
I hate it when you're in the middle of a game and you pass through a wall or rubble falls or a cutscene happens and locks you out of that previous area until later. Especially if you didn't know that was even the right way to go. Pet peeve of mine in gaming.
Yes!! If you encourage exploration in your game do not lock off areas of the game!!
@@arkwrightdubstep agreed. Or if you're going to do that, at least allow me the choice to be able to go back first.
Or if you deliberately go the wrong way only to find out that was the right way 😵💫
I feel like modern games have gotten A LOT better about these situations. Whether it be a formal warning, or a character just cluing you into the fact.
@@Peavey311 stellar blade just came out and it's super guilty of it. It just depends on the game.
Remember when you needed Xbox gold to even watch your paid Netflix subscription? Good old piggy backing.
Yep and I remember when they announced "big changes" comi g to xbox live and it was just no longer needing it for netflix
I remember losing my mind bc I needed gold for youtube
Its THE reason I became a Playstation guy for 3 console generations
@@Guidingleech thankfully my brother had a ps4 so we still had something
Free piggybacking is nice though, that can stay. Getting Paramount+ for free with Walmart+ is a nice perk.
remember, UBI$OFT reminded us that we only own a licence to a game, and they can take it away from us at any time.
"... than piracy is not stealing".
Don't play Ubisoft games. I only play it when they become free on the playstation store.
I only pirate ubisoft games to get around more stupid drm
@@zoubeirfaouzi149 Rather read EULAs prior. Ubisoft aren't the only ones who're only selling limited licenses that can be taken away at any point in time, it's gotten quite common over the past 2 decades. Just take any EA game since BF3, the Hitman reboot series (and most likeley any of IOs future games), any Activision game for over a decade as well known examples. The only thing Ubisoft did was extremely poor advertisement for their subscription service without which everyone would've bought their licenses regardless, and the only thing they achieved with it is people acting like it's anything new or solely related to them.
It always been like that . Including movies
(Just harder for them n not worth effort to take back dvd)
Another thing I've noticed recently is now some physical games are shipping without the full game on the disc. You have to connect to the internet and download a portion of the game. What comes on the disc is not playable. Jedi Survivor and Avatar did this last year.
I think Pokemon too.
Yeah they're doing that to force the digital only thing. Most game disks now are literally just the content license.
Some games can't be stored on a disc (If I get it right you are talking about CDs when saying disc?), you would probably have to use multiple ones like a while ago, the ps2 is the last console I have in mind that did that.
Also disks are slow as fuck, way faster to have your game installed on a faster internal disk and downloading is way faster than installation from a disk nowadays for most of the target audience
I think this one is pretty forgivable with the size of games, day one updates, and the fact that people don't want to go back to multi-disk installs or PS2 games where you switch disks halfway through. That said, most of the games I play are indie and never were or will be distributed physically.
Does jedi survivor even fit on a bluray?
I remember when they showcased the Kinect. A kid came in to promote it, they "scanned" their skateboard with the Kinect and they were able to use it in a game.
lol all the kinect game demos were scripted. even the girl "interacting" with the tiger cub.
Number one on this list is exactly why I treasure my original PlayStation and the games I still have for it. Sony can’t digitally alter those games or get into my PlayStation in any way. I sometimes miss the simpler days of gaming.
pretty much still have a ps2 and ps3 for this reason.
Every time I would get a new console I would give my old one away with all the games, I regret that now, I thought the golden age of gaming would continue.
Yep still have a PS3 to this day for this exact reason and online gaming was FREE back then! All you needed was a PSN account. How we have fallen! Lol. That’s why console STOPPED being backwards compatible.
The fact that Sony says it's a security thing when they are continuously the least secure major party in gaming.
yeah, it was really ironic... or should i say, shameless?
like, don't they have a mirror?
We have to secure your data to sell it better!
Glad to see "on-disc" DLC mentioned. If it is on the disc (or the original download file) then you should not need to pay to unlock it.
Content that is genuinely created post-release or are actual substantial extensions to the base game (e.g. The Frozen Wilds for Horizon Zero Dawn), then sure, charge a wee bit extra to access it, but not when it is something that is on the disc / day one download that the developers arbitrarily decided to lock away.
Earth Defense Force 5 did that as well. Had to find a fix to play the DLC early.
Not quite. Often all the DLC on disk would be added later in theory. That’s why on disc DLC often came out over a year after the game was released. And honestly on disk DLC was a blessing for those who don’t have access to high speed internet (which is A LOT more than you’d think). Not to mention once you have the on disc option (at one point) you OWN all that DLC indefinitely. Lol. Hints why they stopped doing it.
@@khrashingphantom9632 You're missing the point. It is already on the disc, so should not be locked away.
Anyone remember Destiny 1?
@@TheThird1977 Agreed. I was more so speaking to the ones that released later after all the DLC was already had been out for a while and it got compiled on a disc and resold a year or 2 later.
The Helldivers 2 region thing has also been a hassle for PSN first-adopters. I created my PSN account in 2009, when it wasn't available in my country. Today, it is available but you can't migrate and I wouldn't expect anything from the company that took 20 years to make it possible to change our PSN names.
Don't do it, some other users who did this got banned upon linking their helldivers 2 account.
how were you able to create an account if PSN wasn’t available in your country? what does that mean for your PS experience? genuinely curious due to recent PSN shenanigans
@@derpyknight1016 vpn to make psn.
Get banned when you do.
Just don't get console games outside of the service zone
And if you do not have a hard copy its time to give up too.
11:45 Fallout 4 did the “on-disc DLC” thing even worse IIRC; when they added the creation club or whatever, the creation club content was automatically downloaded as part of the game update, meaning that stuff was taking up gigs of space on your hard drive for in-game content you couldn’t access and couldn’t delete.
I know this is a lost cause, but having to pay for PSN sucks so much. I remember the old days playing Black Ops on my PS3 and having the time of my life.
It is not fair at all having to pay extra for using my own bought console and internet provider. As a sole console gamer, it makes me mad.
I never really subscribed for that very reason. I refuse to do that. This is why they do this kind of shit. As of now, I choose to focus only on single player games. Shout out to Sekiro, Hollow Knight, The Witcher 3, Subnautica, Outer Wilds and so many others for making my life great.
Fun fact, disc based dlc is where dlc originally got its name from - "disc-locked content"
Publishers love to imitate Darth Vader's "I have Altered our Deal, Pray I do not alter it Further." with EULAs. Love YOUR content, tho!
Change is a good thing...unless the companies' intentions are to bleed us dry of our money, privacy, or control.
I played an MMO like that actually... I gave them a bad email because I didn't want to communicate and heard they never checked it.
They then instituted a nickname system they said wouldn't matter outside their main site you only needed if your launcher wasn't working... Flash forward a few more years and they finally stopped letting me play due to the fact my Email didn't work until I "corrected" things on the main site I could no longer access because wtf remembers a nickname they only needed to use once like 3-5 years ago....
Xbox One was so dumb. "Sony may be making amazing first party games, but with us, you can shoot noobs while watching ESPN and CZcams simultaneously! And your kinnect will be watching you!"
As someone who doesn't have regular internet access at home, I can't tell you how many single player games I've had to pass up because of the always online requirements imposed on them. Thankfully I have noticed that trend start to die so that those of us stuck in the last century can actually play those, again, SINGLE PLAYER games
No. 3 doesn't happen anymore because when you buy a physical disc nowadays, 95% of the time, it's just a key to download the digital version.
Call of duty did that but most games still do utilize the disc space.
Many of them instead of having an "install disc" and a "play disc" kinda just make you download the install disc part now though.
@zerorig you just reinforced my point for me. They don't use an install disc that was completely full of game information anymore and it's now just a download.
Almost like it's just a key to download the digital copy...
Console player here, I've never payed to play online but I prefer to play by myself anyway and if I do play multiplayer I usually just do couch co-op.
I second this. I am one of these that used to occasionally play online with mates, but had to stop because I refuse to pay Sony £60 - £120 a year for that privilege. Most people argue the fact they are offering a service so deserve to be paid for that, but so are PC games, yet they don't charge you extra. At the end of the day, your broadband is all that is required to play online and I already pay that. Companies slapped a wall between the broadband and console and require you to pay to jump over that wall. I refuse to give into corporate greed.
Online play should always be free and if the charge was for just all of the extras, I would think differently, but to stop you playing with friends unless you pay for that privilege is just wrong. If everyone stopped paying for online play, companies would have no choice but to offer it free again.
And even couch co-op they're taking away!
As someone who has owned both a PC and an XB ONE S for a few years now, I was really confused at first that I needed a subscription to play Forza Horizon 3 online on XB, but didn't need a subscription to play the same game (from the same license) online on PC. I bought the XBOX as a 4K Bluray player anyway so I didn't really care.
I hate having to have online multiplayer components of games taking up memory space when I don't play the online part of games.
On console are way less cheater and hacker tbh I did only encounter them in cross-platform games where you are forced to play with PC people like R6S
Not to mention the hacker videos on cod or counter strike.... then I gladly pay money get 3 games a month for basically 13 bucks idk what all the people have...
Having to repurchase the same game just for a ps5 upgrade is a robbery…
The good news is the PS4 version plays just as well on the PS5. I have and will never pay for an upgrade.
There's absolutely no game that requires you to purchase at full price. Maybe 10 bucks. But it's a majority of free upgrades. Idk what you're on rn but stop smoking it.
Final Fantasy 15 wasnted me to pay for a upgrade. i said fuck thatr. sony sucks.
@@drewtheunspoken3988you paid for a ps5 just to not play ps5 games?
@@bennyblunto973 I play PS5 games. I've even upgraded the ones that offered free upgrades. I'm just not going to spend money to upgrade a PS4 game I bought beforehand. Or buy the PS5 version of the same game.
10 - Helldivers 2 PSN account issue - No, logging into an account wasn't the issue. The issue is that it was sold around the world, available in every country via Steam... but less than 70 countries have PSN capability. 120 countries were just being locked out. No refunds, no apologies, and before you say it, Sony's official stance on VPNs to fake where you are and make an account that way is against their ToS and they WILL ban you for it. That's why we were rightfully pissed off
I blame the gamers
Problem with all of these is that there wasnt enough push back when these were implimented
Unity is power, never give in to this kind of stuff
Yup.
But people never push against stuff, because they don't care unless it directly affects them.
Don't own games anymore for up to 2 decades depending on the publisher? Who cares, they've not yet taken it away - but if they do oh boy I'm gonna be mad because I thought I bought a game while being told in caps lock that I don't buy anything.

On console Specially once they shutdown servers, all the money tou spent was nothing
Good luck trying to expire the CDs/DVDs/Cartriges I own
And if the console burns down, there are ways around it, if you catch my emulator
@@danielalexandre89 Discs only matter if you plan to never connect your console to the internet tho. Blocking off the App ID or just releasing a patch that prevents you from starting a game makes everything unusable unless you want to play an unpatched version from the disc, which honestly isn't worth it with how broken most releases are.
For emulators: Yeah, I however personally only consider it preservation if the game in question was actually sold and not only licensed, making a statement that you can pirate licensed games if they're made unusable is just admitting that you're happily a part of the problem in the first place.
@@Unknown_Genius I don't care what they say

They try to screw me in anyway I got a Nice PC to extract the files from the CDs
@@danielalexandre89 Yeah, you're part of the ones to blame then. Because if they don't sell you something why pay them and act like they sold you something?
#1 should be ESG & DEI.
SEGA did a similar thing to Rockstar. In preparation of the release of Sonic Origins, SEGA removed the original versions of the classic Sonic games from Steam. If you already owned them, they didn't take them away from you or anything, but those original games aren't available on Steam anymore. Origins is advertised with a "Classic Mode," but all they did was take the (admittedly very faithful) remakes, re-implementing the lives system and taking away widescreen.
I love hearing Jake say he’s not a “multiplayer gamer”. I too play single player games almost exclusively and I feel like we’re a really undervalued market. Who don’t play and or want Live Service MMOs. I will say I’ve been playing FO76 lately but I’m not playing with other people except for events, so I’m playing it like a normal Fallout for the most part.
I love Kinect..... It makes a great door stop!

@@overused6632 So you don't care about the fact that they've proven that they're willing to literally sell you a game that they'll take away from you while the game is still active for other countries? They've just developed a new tier of "you own nothing" that has plagued gaming for almost 2 decades and put it a step up, but obviously that's perfectly fine and nothing to worry about at all.
no shit, psn isnt supported in the countries so ofc they made sure to block them. thats why everyone complained in the first place. selling games to non psn covered areas. what...? did you people expect sony to just let steam continue supporting the online service? steam was just a temporary fix, not the solution.
Piracy fixes 90% of your list.
remember kids piracy is a service issue.

100%. All these drms and extra log ins and nonsense when you pay, but if you don't pay, you don't have to go through any of that
I don't agree with piracy, but I can understand why people do it. Try to hustle, then get hustled.
@jimster1111 piracy is just piracy, it's not a issue. No matter how good the service is people will always pirate.
Remember that the biggest issue with the PSN account thing is the fact that the majority of countries in the world can’t create PSN accounts, and are thus region locked out. So a game that was previously available to them was going to vanish essentially overnight for them if Sony went forward.
Which countries don’t have a PSN store? Apart from North Korea and maybe China?
@@SodaDrinker94 actually in China you can have a PSN account.
Ohhhh I wasn’t aware of number 6!! thanks for the heads up!
For players security they said, yeah right, PSN it’s the most hackeble online entity in the entire gaming industry 😂
Uh, Jake? The original GTA Trilogy is still not purchasable. Rockstar removed them again, if they ever brought them back in the first place. The only version of the games you can buy on Steam or console currently is "Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definiitive Edition". I've said this before, but y'all's research team is slippin'.
who cares nerd
The whole limited release thing is something that really grinds my gears, especially when the physical AND digital release is limited, if either option is applicable. The digital-only western release of Fire Emblem comes to mind, as well as the example provided in the video, being Super Mario 3D All-Stars. Not having the funds to buy a game that you like is, of course, unfortunate, but it hurts even more when you know that said game will soon be gone forever. FOMO is already a pain to deal with, and I've definitely been a passenger on that train before, but not having ANY way to buy a game (outside of resellers, if applicable) just sucks.
Totally agree with #2. I now only do online multiplayer on the computer. I really hate it when it expands beyond just multiplayer, such as Super Mario Maker 2 required the online multiplayer to just play other people's courses (even though it is done in single player).
7:14 "if memory serves correct" hah, I see what you did there.
For number 10, this is exactly why I can't play a series that I loved as a teen as now I have to use the company's launch program and I have read too many reviews of how often it crashes or doesn't let you play the game. Man I wish I can go back to Heroes Of Might And Magic 😒
This was an awesome and fun to watch list without any spoilers and I love anything without spoilers as a patient gamer! Big love
Only one of our group got an X1 when it still had the Kinnect. He loved the voice commands. We could shout over party chat and shut his Xbox off though
You really cant defend any of these companies.. im a sony pony and i cant even say a good thing about them apart from the exclusives... Thats it... I dont even like exclusivity.
dont forget the part where after they reverted helldiverts from needing a psn they went and took off helldivers off the steam store for every country that couldnt get a psn account so if they refunded it then they can no longer buy it
Yeah it's going to take some time before they all learn that Sony reversed the decision and allow Helldivers in those countries again. Who knows how long that will take.
"OO00oo, I wonder where he will rank DEI on the list??........................oh"
Character packs should be on this list. DBZ games and Demon Slayer come to mind for me.
PSN suddenly requiring a subscription is what completely killed my interest in consoles. I already rarely played online on my PS3, but with the one or two games I did, I could just go online without any additional costs.
You can have a psn account for free, you don't even need to put in credit card information, but you won't be able to play multiplayer games. You can also have a PlayStation 4 or 5 and not connect it to the Internet at all if you just want to play single player games.
Well PSN got hacked and realized having shit server security was not the move. So now they pay Microsoft for servers and of course customers have to eat cost of running the PS infrastructure
@@johnstark9164 That was his point, online/multiplayer was free on PS3, but PS4 onward it required a subscription. You're essentially paying your internet bill twice. This is what caused me to sell off my Playstation stuff and move to PC. There's no excuse for it.
"start with the most recent thing" referring to Helldivers II....
I guess that's one way you can tell that this video was put together before the _Assassin's Creed: Shadows_ trailer dropped... 🤣

And Clearly it's done for nothing other than ESG. Too focused on that crap instead of actually making a good game in the last decade
@@Based_Comment We'll see how many people have the opinion "get over it, it's just a game" when the pendulum finishes its swing *away* from DEI. Major tech and manufacturing corporations are already seeing *thousands* of DEI positions being eliminated as the movement's popularity begins to wane. Normies are getting sick of it being shoved down their throats and are becoming normies-no-more but full on opponents.
ESG is just a modern day version of the Spanish Inquisition bent on rooting out morality rather than immorality.
@@Based_Comment ESG is nothing more than a modern day version of the Spanish Inquisition. It's a movement formed to reward those that adhere to this new religion's orthodoxy, and suppress those that openly oppose moral bankruptcy.
Sneaking in microtransactions after release really bothers me because those microtransactions are designed to be predatory. There are specific types of predatory monetization I avoid because they work too well on me. Since they've started sneaking that crap in after launch, it means I can't buy a game on day 1. I have to wait a few months for all the dirty tricks to come to light first...and by then, the hype has died down, so may as well wait for a good sale.
Always online is another one I hate. My main reason for hating it is because that means once they decide it's no longer profitable enough to keep that authentication server up and running, I lose access to the game I paid for. It also sucks when there's an internet outage and I can't play my game due to the always online requirement.
The last one applies to pretty much any digital product or product with an online connection: manufacturers denying you the proper ownership rights for a product you purchased. They literally reserve the rights to change the terms at any time, and if you don't like it, then you can't use the product and don't get a refund. That shouldn't even be legal. Consumers can't make an educated decision when the terms they "agreed" do can be changed on a whim.
I would argue that the $10 upgrade one is better than the alternative. Previously you'd have to straight up buy the whole game twice. I specifically remember buying Madden 16 on my 360 back in college and then having to buy it for another 60 bucks when I got an Xbone
Also reminder that Sony may have supposedly back tracked for Helldivers 2 but they also silently pulled it from Steam for all those countries that could not access the game because of requiring a PSN. I think I heard that those that bought it already can still play the game but there will not be any new players in those countries as its not listed anymore there.
people complained then found out. now sony will make sure only its multiplayer games are not released in the regions people rioted about it being sold to when psn wasnt supported there. even if multiplayer is an afterthought like ghost of tsushima. the irony of it is they probably plan still implementing the psn requirement (like xbox with its multiplatform videogames like minecraft, sea of theives and i assume grounded) but just letting people calm the fuck down now.
@@cooltjh4 yeah, they didnt learn any lesson, they just realized they need to be more sneaky about it

HJust a heads up, Helldivers 2 got delisted on steam in countries AT sony requests which cant make PSNs, this has NOT been reversed at this time. That almost 200 places around the world that sony just gave the finger to
The war is still going on brothers. Don't change your reviews yet!!!
Valve is offering refunds thankfully
There's nothing funnier to me than people buying a game that clearly says they're going to need a PSN account eventually and then complaining and boycotting the game or whatever the fuck they did because they needed a PSN account eventually, and the complaint was transparency.
They were told they wouldnt need a psn account . Sony added that feature after people started to cancel their subs after the SB censorship .
Hell divers always said it would require a psn account on steam. It literally said it from jump. It wasn't all of a sudden. It was in the requirements from the get go.

It never seizes to amaze me how easy it is for yall to completely ignore big news when making these videos. Obviously, DEI and consultants who prioritize DEI are a big issue right now and gamers are sick of it. Didn't make the list despite being one of the most relevant examples right now
DEI😂. You lot are so weird and lame. You see a character that isn’t like you and you scream that’s forced diversity.
Online connection requirement for an offline single player game will never make sense to me. Micro transactions and DLC clearly cut from games also rank high on the list. The Helldivers 2 requirement is just sad, people will complain about anything these days.
Dynasty Warriors had this thing with needing to load the regular disc and then switch it out to XL every time you turn off the console. You just can't load XL from the start and it was sold separately.
Thank for remembering such a lovely franchise
Having to play the forced horror mission in Cyberpunk was also pretty bad xD
Sony isn't going to back down with the PSN requirements on PC, they just didn't want to hurt their short-term revenue on Helldivers. Given that Sony has a major data breach every two to three years, no one should be handing their information over to Sony.
I work in a military ship which we do not allow internet and no internet out in sea. Games are the only thing that's keeping me sane out in the middle of the ocean for months or years. Mandatory internet for single-player games is dumb.
Many problems in gaming stem from requiring a constant internet connection, and it's not a matter of us potentially losing internet access. If that was it, that'd be fine. The problem is that we can't trust that the servers on the developer's side of things will be working and available. Most games that require an internet connection are basically unplayable on launch day because they didn't bother to get enough server capacity, and after a while the servers will shut down, rendering the game unplayable unless the dev bothers to disable the internet connection requirement.

Where is falcon?? always excited for gameranx!
I agree with single player games making online a requirement is odd but it is really awesome to beat your friends to records on certain challenges in that single player game.
my 2 things:
1- when they don't finish the game story just to sell it in DLCs. like Doom Eternal and Diablo 4.
2- escort missions.
The clickbait thumbnail though lol. It was abby from tlou2 btw because I know they'll change it.
Change what exactly? I haven't played tlou2, and I don't care about spoilers so I have actually watched the ending and other parts to understand why it has had such a negative reaction, but now I'm curious about this. Cheers.
Yeah, I thought this video would be things like "being forced down the obviously stupid path when the better path is RIGHT THERE"
@jeffreyaldrich1865 I meant change the title or thumbnail, since the title is "10 UNFAIR things forced onto gamers" and the thumbnail is abby, obviously referencing the controversies of the game. I didn't care for tlou the first time around, so I'm unbothered by all of that, but I knew there was no way they would actually bring up such a divisive topic in their video. They just used it as click bait lol
@@mikezenox Thanks for the explanation. I had thought something about the developers possibly changing something in that game due to the controversies.

Ghost of Tsushima was a Playstation exclusive. It shouldn't really be a surprise that it needs PSN
I mean yeah but taking away a whole game just because of the online mode is crazy
Why port it to a PC then? We PC-players don't have PSN, and don't want it. It's a PC game now. All you should need is a PC.
@@0OnSoul0 Well if for some reason people want to play Legends, they're gonna need a PSN. It takes two seconds to make one anyways. We've had to do this with Microsoft for years.
@@enigmaburrito1390 Stop parroting Twitter bots. If it's not a big deal why is it required? Most haven't got a Microsoft account either so it's not like that's a good comparison.
@@FreePigeon I've had to make a Microsoft account for Minecraft. I didn't complain about it
I know Sony's is special because you go against ToS in certain countries, but playing any game from EA, Ubi or MS on Steam that needs an account for their own launcher or service is something I've always hated.
I feel like any of the new, updated versions, should have an option to keep playing the old version, especially with how often this practice has gone completely wrong.
Forced DEI is horrible, especially when companies forsake the story or gameplay to shoehorn it in
Early gang
It's crazy how a motion sensor camera people get freaked out about but yet they have their face glued to their smartphone 24/7 with 3 camera phones pointed at them and GPS tracking that is always on that you can't disable.
I thought they were gonna mention the horrendous sex scene in The Last of Us 2. Still traumatized man
I'm here early 😂
DEI involvement
What you don’t like diverse characters? You don’t want women or minorities in games? You want every character to be a bald white guy or a porn star? Sus
When ghost hunters get more use out if your peripheral than gamers then you know people hated it.
No, the issue with the Helldivers PSN thing was because PSN is only available in 30% of countries
xbox do the same since years and its not a problem but when sony does it , it is .? lmao..... you need for EVERY SINGLE XBOX GAME on PC a Xbox Account ..... so what is the diference here ..... Moorons,,,
The difference is, ppl that have no option to create a PSN account, already paid money for the game and had been playing it for a while.
Then came the requirement.
Had they launched with the requirement in place, it wouldn't have been this big of a problem.
To be a bit more clear for someone like me who is not too well-versed in this topic, there are countries where you cannot create a PSN account.
The problem arises when 1) this plan for PSN requirements was not stated when the game was initially released; 2) this game is sold also in countries where PSN account creation is not possible.
The addition of this requirement is also a bit late, as most people would have enough playtime past the refund requirement for Steam.
There's like an anti Playstation rhetoric going around. I really don't know, man. I might be bots trying to change how people view Sony and Playstation.
1) Xbox requires it from the start
2) People are able to create MS accounts anywhere in the world. PSN is not available in 177 countries and PS sold the game in those countries knowing this
First?
I think the Kinect was hugely underrated strictly for the “Xbox off” “Xbox turn on” function. Everything else was optional
DLC on the disc, first game I think of is Mass Effect 3 with that Prothean DLC that was already in the game but you had to go through a paywall to access it. It never made sense because he ends up being a very memorable squad member. At least they included everything in the Legendary Edition.
#1 Diversity Inclusion and Equity
Please acknowledge the forced wokeness
Not a chance, they're terrified on this channel to address it.
@@billyrattlesticks6949 because, if anything makes gaming terrible nowadays, it’s that
I agree!! 💯 It's bullshit they push that shit enough on movies and in the schools but what can we do
The main problem seems not to be the PSN account per se - I think many players would make an extra account for that if really needed (as they did with Ubisoft or EA)... but SONY wants to have the Steam and PSN accounts linked. The account linking was the thing that many disliked... that, and the fear that a forced PSN Plus subscription might follow up someday.
For helldivers, it’s still unable to be bought in all the countries where you can’t have psn. So even though they said they’ll take it back to get the reviews back to positive, they may institute the policy again.
Starfield forcing players to pick pronouns.
Lmao get over yourself how did that hurt your experience at all? StarField deserves hate but this is one of the dumbest criticisms I've ever heard
Absolutely.
Honestly it was weird to me too, like it doesn’t change anything important so like why?
Geez God forbid games give you choices.
Paying for a license to play a game is, fundamentally, the most unfair bad practice from corporations.
i remember some peeps claimed that the kinect could detect ghosts too... haha that was wild
My experience with a different kind of disc DLC was the Halo 2 Multiplayer Map Pack. 13 year old me thought it was the full game when I saw it at the store so my mom bought that and I had to ask her to get the full game the next weekend.
One question though in regards to Number 8 (and perhaps #1 to some extent) : It's true that value proposition varies from person to person and if the upgrade isn't worth the price, why buy it? Doesn't that mean one has a choice in this regard and isn't forced to buy something they deem not worth the upgrade?
I STILL see brand new copies of Mario 3D All Stars on the shelves on my local game store.
#1 also hits hard on TV shows... I've had to track down old DVDs of stuff like Seinfeld and Buffy because the only versions you can screen are cropped and recolored in ways that literally ruin the footage.
Number 7 - Overprices Proprietary storage stuff. It's Microsoft now, but remember all memory cards for saves in several past generations (PS1, PS2. Gamecube, Dreamcast,...) and especially Sony's shenanigans with proprietary storage - both with PSP and PSVita. It was a huge factor in Vita's failure.
Memory stick Pro duo was used in Sony camera, yet Properary memory was most likely a huge reason Vita was discontinued
The Overwatch replacement was/is still really hard. I miss my old Mercy and Pharah, and just to rub it in, they took my 9k+ hours and chopped it down to 2500.
It was so depressing, now if I play, I feel like a cheap, knock off soda brand.
And yes, 9k hours is too much.
Love ya Jake! ❤
It wasn't just a transparency thing for Hell Divers; in some countries it's illegal to create a PSN account! Valve has straight up delisted it in the relevant countries
Having a new launcher for every game is like having a new app for every restaurant or grocery store. Everyone’s doing it and I’m tired of being looked at as a dollar sign
