I love the sconces the way it is. I might do a shade only if the light glare is too much, especially at the angle in bed at night. Without the lamps, you now have more room on the cute side tables. No, you are not fake. Lol!
I might try shades - I have a plan to go thrifting soon and find some to try! Thanks for your kind words ☺️
I go from project to project. Sometimes I have 5 going. While something is drying, so work on something else . Going back and forth works for me,lol
I enjoy your channel. BTW, you are so pretty. I have very thick straight as a board hair, and I love your hair.❤
We ar project jumping’ kindred spirits! Thanks for your kind words. 🥰 My waves usually look so messy. I was the kid with constantly messed up hair😂
Yes ma'am! I have about a dozen projects going at a time... I'm in a wheel chair so need help sometimes with cutting wood, cleaning items, etc so I do what I can and then pass my items to my mom or step dad for the next step, then get them back to continue. I live with them and they both know that crafting is what keeps me alive, going, and with great attitude about my health issues. So, I'm always jumping back and forth! You should see the faux window I'm making for my mom now ❤ would love to share pictures when done!
Yay for having lots of projects going on at once! I admire you for working on projects and for pressing on through your challenges. Thanks so much for sharing your story and inspiring me and others with it 🥰
I really like the gold on the sconces. I wouldn’t put a shade on the lamps, I think they look really cool by just adding the other light bulbs. Everything is beautiful.
Thank you! The gold looks better than the zinc color for sure! 😊
Yes I think a smaller lamp shade for sure. Your arrangement is so beautiful with the lace table cloth.
Thank you so much! The lace tablecloth is one of my faves😊
I like the variety of jumping from project to project.
Yay! We are a bunch of project-jumpers here!! 🤣
Yes to the lampshades. I personally dislike Edison bulbs because bright lights trigger migraines for me. You are so interesting and inspiring. I’m so glad I found your channel!
I’m so glad you found my channel to Linda! Sorry to hear about the headaches. I I get a lot of headaches too but not from Bright lights. Have a great day 😊
@@ReinventedDelawareIt something to think about for use in a quest room. Ive seen low light Edison bulbs too. I was thinking that if you were to put a black background behind the oval mirror that it would make the glass shine so much better. It kinda blends into your wall. The black ( wouldn't necessarily have to be solid, maybe the same as the frame but with less of the goldfish coloring that you put on the frame. Just brushes here and there to blend it with the frame but not so much as to take the frame to a place that it didn't pop. I hope that made sense. Just two ideas I thought of . The black behind the frame would go great with your quilt frame above the bed. As for a shade.... I vote shade of some sort. Maybe one that is elongated vertically so it wouldn't hide the frame. Something to ponder for sure. You have good ideas that work well together. I would have never thought to put the frames behind the lamps. Looks good though! Have a beautiful day.
I ABSOLUTELY jump from project to project lol
Yay for all the project jumpers!😀
All were great results. Thanks for introducing us to the products you used for the makeovers. So darling the silver bowl. Wow the color green of the hostas leaves!❤ I love the wall sconces. I prefer not to walk into a room with a naked bulb. But I wouldn't do the size shade you showed. I would try different sizes if you decide to go with shades. Thank you.
I agree with this comment, Cindy! Everything turned out beautifully! I would definitely consider smaller shades for the sconces if you decide to cover the bulbs, but they DO look great as they are! I LOVE your quilt art!!💖
The more I think about it the more I want to try small shades. Stay tuned for future thrift shopping trips while I look for them!
Thanks! I'm excited to look for smaller shades! And thanks about the quilt art - that window is one of my favorite projects of all time!
I always have multiple projects going at one time. I even have a book shelf dedicated to projects in progress. Gold was absolutely the way to go with those sconces. The moment you started to add the gold you could see that was the way to go. Enjoy watching your channel.
The bookshelf idea is brilliant! I need to do something like that. I’m so glad you enjoy our videos 😊 Thanks for watching!
FUTURE FYI...melt the wax outside, not in the sink. the wax will harden in the pipes...
Agh! I should have done that😩 today I will pour more boiling water down the sink to help avoid a problem 😊
I’m a plumber, don’t give away my money maker!
@@mike1968442 Hopefully for you people will always need a plumber!!
The sconces are PHENOMENAL! I too use the gold and silver mixed together to get a champagne-ish color.
You are so right about the color - it's such a pretty color! I'm loving the scones so much in our guest room :)
Love love love the wall sconces. Definitely the gold looked better than the zinc and doesnt need a shade looks perfect the way it is. Try a different bulb if you like. Love the flower bowl too.
Thanks so much Susan!😊
I LOVE going from project to project. Sometimes I have five going at same time, but it’s all organized thinking. I will jump to another project when for example, the paint is drying on one DIY. You have inspired me to collect brass and silver! Your bedroom is perfect looking now with the sconces. I feel that the light bulbs by themselves looks more olden days so to speak. I think the candle look lights are so cute! I would leave those. That was a good choice changing to hold on the metal of your sconces. Good diys , thank you!
I’m so glad you enjoyed the projects. So many of us who do projects love to jump around. It’s organized in my mind too😆 Or at least I say it is! Have fun collecting silver and brass. And stay tuned because I have a great idea about displaying silver pieces in an upcoming video 😊
Your guest bedroom is so cozy. Love it!
Thank you!! 😊
The gold looks so much better for sure on the lamps
Definitely!
Great makeovers Cindy! I love how you combined the silver pieces for the flower arrangement. Those sconces are adorable!!
Thanks so much! 😊 Those sconces were a great find!
Love the sconces w the gold. No to lampshades. Love all the makeovers.
Thanks for your input!😊
Love the sconces. I like them without shades but if you wanted to use shades I would use smaller ones, like on a chandelier. Thanks for showing all your great ideas.
You are welcome! I might try smaller shades on the wall sconces. I’ll be Thrifting soon 😊
Loved the refurbishments, especially the wall sconces. I agree use different light bulbs. I would use smaller shades, I think the one you chose was a little too big for it.
Loved the Norman Rockwell painting and the frame remake! I bet your husband did love the painting!
Glad your flower arrangement lasted a long time! Unfortunately I didn’t have the same luck with my arrangements, especially this past spring with my lilacs!
Even though your lilacs didn’t last, I bet they smelled amazing! Zinnias are pretty but they have no scent. Thanks for watching Donna 🥰
Definitely the gold for the sconces. Beautiful 😍
I think so too! I’ll be hanging them in our bedroom in the coming weeks so stay tuned!👏🏻
The sconces are my favorite (and the bloopers)😂
I live those sconces too! Thanks for watching and I’m so glad you enjoyed the bloopers😂😂
Liked the gold sockets too. Like the sconces w/out a shade. Looks really finished w/oval frame around them-great idea. Very nice projects!
Glad you like them! Thanks so much for watching 😊
You without a doubt are over the top love makeovers of thrift items and you’re the queen of that oh my gosh I’m glad I found your channel thank you
Well that just made my day! Thank you so much!!🥰
Yes to the lampshades. I love the projects. Food job.
Thanks so much. 😊
I myself like those light bulbs. They look like candles.
I never thought of that but you are right! They looks like candles😊
No shade. Definitely Edison bulbs 💡😍❤️
Thanks - I might try small shades - we'll see! Thanks for watching ☺️
I like the candelabra light bulbs better than Edison with these more dainty sconces. Maybe try some chandelier shades as someone mentioned. Your out takes are a hoot! I like your genuine nature. Keep’em coming Cindy!
Great idea! I’m on the lookout for smaller shades 😊 Thanks for your encouraging words😊
I loved all these projects. I actually liked the light bulbs you used without shades, and the oval frames with the lights was so pretty! I only do projects for myself and as gifts, but your videos have given me so many valuable ideas and pointers. Thank you.
Thank you so much! And you are welcome for the ideas! It makes my heart full knowing there is inspiration here
My favorite thing is your quilt and window pane wall decor!
Isn’t it so pretty? I will have to do a tutorial for it! This one is old😊
The wall sconces were my favorite and I like it without shades and I actually like the bulbs in it.😊
I’m rethinking the bulbs - they are still in the sconces and I like them!😊
Thank you for sharing these cleaning techniques; it kept me watching as I love learning new-to-me techniques for my thrifted treasures. Regarding the shades for the sconces, I think pleated shades would go with the vintage style of the sconces and at the same time be in-style, but it would depend on the look you are going for. There are a lot of tutorials out there for this, as I'm sure you are aware of, so you would not have to use a dusty old pleated shade.
This is a great idea! I could make pleated shades if I find the right size wire frame for the wall sconces. I’ll be out Thrifting soon and looking for small shades 😊
I love the sconces! I think I would add some tiny shades.
The bloopers at the end made me chuckle 🤭
Great idea!! I’m on the lookout for shades now!
Definitely the gold on the sconces! 👍🏻 ..and l like the dainty little lite bulbs that are in there! 😊
I love the floral arrangement!!
Sooo pretty!!
And your picture turned out great!!
It’s really fun to watch you repurpose these finds!
Thanks so much! 😊 I appreciate your support and encouragement!
Everything’s lovely. Very inspiring. Skip the lampshade. I quite like the candle flame globe. Maybe a larger flame globe ? Maybe a blue mat around the Norman Rockwell to enhance the uniform and blue jeans ?
The blue mat is a great idea! Thanks for sharing 😊
Such cute makeovers! Love the lamps! I had a pair of white milk glass lamps when I was young, should have kept them. The silverplate plates and bowl are lovely. 🤗
Milk glass has be some so popular. I had a small milk glass lamp with a dish shaped base that I used to put my rings in at bedtime 😊
@@ReinventedDelaware
l had one too!
With a globe milk glass top and small plate base! 😊
@@Jkaye13 They were the best!
Your blue insulators and perfect ball mason jars look stunning on those chunky candlesticks 😍❤️
Thanks so much! 😊 I love the contrast of the two!
I love the sconces I think that small sheds would be better maybe some shades with a little flair to it!? Everything is beautiful and so creative loved watching 🙂
Great idea!! thanks so much for watching and I’m so glad you enjoyed the video 😊
Love all of these projects, it is hard to choose a favorite, but the sconces are so cute. You did such a great job and the gold was the right choice. Thank you for sharing all your projects.
Thanks so much! 😊 I’m loving the gold too!
Great finds and great job. Sconces are my fave. Yes, on the gold instead of silver. And, yes, in Edison bulbs. Thanks for sharing and take care😊
Thanks for watching!😊
Love this video. I really like the wall sconces, but I think smaller lampshades would be better. Otherwise, no lampshades.
Good call! I’m going thrift shopping soon to look for smaller shades 😊
@@ReinventedDelaware - how fun. I hope you’ll show an update if you find something!
I appreciate all your techniques and information on the products you utilized. You have such a creative vision. You had me laughing at the end 😊. Thanks for sharing
Thank you so much! I’m so glad to bring a little chuckle to your day😊
So lovely! I LOVE the wall sconce lights with the frames!
Aren’t they gorgeous?? They were such an awesome thrift store find!
I like the gold metal and Edison bulb idea
Me too!😊
Just today I filled a vase with zinnias and asters and put hosta leaves around the outside. Here I was thinking I was being innovative with the hosta leaves lol. 🇨🇦❤️
Your arrangement sounds beautiful! 🌸🌼🌺
You and your husband make a great team . What an inspiration you are .
Thank you so much! Your encouraging words mean so much 🥰
I love everything about the wall scones
Me too! They are so pretty - what a great find!😊
So clever with the sconces and frame. Love the thrifts.❤
Thanks so much Donna! 😊
Lamp shades. Softens the look.
Yes yes and yes!!
I just found your channel and love it! The information you provide is wonderful. Saves me a lot of trial and error and time. I love the frames over the lights. I would never have thought of that! No shades! 😊. I wanted to share that if you put an item that has wax in it..into the freezer for 15 minutes or so, the wax will pop right out.
That’s a great tip about the wax. Thanks for sharing! I’m so glad you find a Inspiration here 😊
Definitely go with the Edison bulbs in the sconces. It will enhance the look, imo.
Yes! I need to get some Edison’s 😊
Thanks Cindy for sharing your creative ideas. I love them all especially those silver bowls glued together. Today I’m going to paint mats for my pictures in the bedroom. You really inspire me to do things I never thought about doing!
I'm so glad to hear you are inspired! That fills my heart 😀Have fun!
I love love love the wall sconces!!
Me too! Thanks for watching 😊
great ideas and yes......I flip between projects also. it gives your mind time to work on what each project is to look like in the end. Also love the Earthbrite cleaner that you used. going to look into that as well. thank you
Thanks! You are going to love the Earth Brite cleaner for so many things!😊
Love the gold, beautiful.
Me too! Thanks for watching. 😊
Your table is exquisite!
Thank you, JoAnn! 😊
Love the video, and am definitely ordering the the Earth Brite! FYI-I live 15 minutes from the Rockwell Museum. The runaway in the picture is a local here. His wife is a retired teacher at our elementary school.
Omgoodness that is amazing about the runaway in the Norman Rockwell print! Thanks so much for sharing. I’ll pass the info onto my husband 😊 also thanks for ordering the Earth bright. You will love it!
Yes! A lamp shade!
Thank you!
@@ReinventedDelaware 🤗
I forgot to mention something else your idea of the Edison lights the soft glow would pick up the beautiful quote pieces you've made also love that idea! Craft on girlfriend 🙂
That's a great idea! Thanks for sharing 😊
love love love the wall sconces!!
Aren’t they amazing! They was such a great find 😊
Lovely pieces! One suggestion...if you choose to not use shades on your sconces, you might consider using toilet paper cardboard rolls to DIY decorative sleeves to cover the switch area, more candle like. Thanks for another enjoyable video.
Great idea! Thanks so much! I might be on the look out for small shades! 😊 Time will tell!
When cleaning silver or brass, allow the chemicals to work. If it is a stubborn tarnish, apply tarnish remover again and leave it or a while. Don’t waste elbow grease and scratch the metals. I love my silverware.
Thanks for the info! If you love to polish silver, you will love Earth Brite😊
Just came across your videos, and you're delightful 😊 ☺️. Now watching some more 😀 👌 😊
Glad you like them! Thanks so much for watching and commenting 😊
New to your channel and I am getting some great information on different items to use to upcycle some items I have. Love the videos, the bloopers at the e d are hilarious!😂
Welcome! I’m so glad you have joined us and that you enjoy the projects and inspiration! And the bloopers😂😂
Yes it’s called hobnob. Those scones look really old.yes for the shade. Yes sedum and I love zinnias. Mom always kept seed to grow zinnias. I liked everything you did but yeah, the silver bowl and the flowers was my absolute favorite. I do love using silver pieces in floral arrangements.
I’m so glad you enjoyed the projects! The silver bowl with the bright zinnias is such a pretty look! 😊
@@ReinventedDelaware it sure is.
I like the bulbs you have with the sconces, they are dainty. I think the Edison bulbs would be too industrial looking. jmho. Look for some smaller shades. Your guest bedroom is darling.
Thanks Lucy! Maybe I should rethink the bulbs I have in them! 😊
Love all of your projects. Definitely trying the earth brite cleaner for my silver plate. I am team lampshade but the sconces are beautiful either way.
Thank you! You will love the Earth Brite cleaner😊
Omg do I ever jump between projects 😂my husband often asks whatever happened to that frame you were working on....now I started the chairs, then chairs get left behind for new finds 🤦🏼♀️you are not alone lol 😂
We are project, jumping kindred, spirits! 😆 that keeps it all interesting doesn’t it? Thanks for watching!
Love it all ❤❤❤ thanks for sharing your beautiful makeovers.
You are so welcome! Thank you for watching and commenting. It means so much to me 😊
Cindy i love your videos. i personally would put shades on the Sconces. That is probably because i don’t like exposed bulbs.
I’m going thrift shopping in the next couple Eid weeks to look for some small shades 😊 thanks for your kind words!
I like change too
Love your bloopers 😂😂😂😂😂
Thanks Darlene!😂😂😂
Love the wall sconces great video
Glad you like them! Thanks so much for your encouraging words 😊
I’m definitely a jumper
Yay for jumping 😆
Thrifting is like treasure hunting on the sea!
Yes it is! I love to go thrifting with my hubby 🥰
thrift a pair of small glass pretty shades !xx grumpy grandma xx
Glass shades would be amazing! 😊
Depending on the project is when I jump around different projects. So they dry in between or they cure whatever the case may be. Yes I do work on several projects at a time. Just like you.
We think alike 😊 Thanks for watching!
Love the lights but agree with Edison bulbs
😊😊 Edison’s would look great!
Small shades on sconces; maybe use gold on shade.
Great idea ! Thank you😊
I like everything like it is.
Thank you 😊
you're too cute. Thanks for the hosta leaves as bouquet greens idea :)
You are so welcome! I use a hosta leaves in flower arrangements all the time 😊 thanks for watching and commenting!
LOL I love the boopers😂
So glad you enjoyed them😂
Great tip bout 004 wool
The steel wool is amazing😊
I love watching you! Ultra talented a!
So sweet of you to say! Thank you 🥰
Wow, you are so talented and creative. I love the light with the shade! Maybe a smaller shade though... it looked a little big up to the oval frame but maybe that way the angle of the camera.. Either way it is beautiful.
Definitely the shade I showed was too big! I’ll be out thrifting soon so I can look for smaller shades to try!😊
Yes, add the shade!!
I’m on the hunt for a couple of small ones!
I put a silicone bulb in my wall sconce that is just like yours. Amazon has the silicone bulbs
I've not heard of those! I will go take a look at them - thanks for the tip 😀
I just looked at silicone bulbs on Amazon - I love them! I didn't realize that's what they were called. Thanks for the reminder about them!
Love the sconces. The description on the back of the print is not for the print of the cop. That painting is called The Runaway. The description is for The Weigh In. I’m a huge Rockwell fan.
Thank you for the history Crystal!😊
Yes to the lampshades. I like the sconces with the gold, not the silver.
I agree about the gold - so much better than the silver in this case! 😊
Beautiful
Thank you😊
I have a bit of attention deficit so I end up working on multiple projects at the same time
Hahaha! Maybe that’s my problem too!
No lamp shade. I like the Edison bulb.
Thanks for your input!
Beautiful ❤😊
Thank you! 😊 I’m glad you enjoyed the makeovers !
No to lampshades as you would be covering up all your beautiful work. Very clever. Love from the UK 🇬🇧.
Thank you so much Tracey! That’s exciting that you are watching from the UK😊😊
Hobnail glass And for the Picture I would have snapped a picture of the story explanation and printed it out to add to the back.
Omgoodness why didn’t I think of that! I’m going to take it apart and do that! Thanks😊
Looks good
Thank you 😊
No lamp shade use edition bulb. I would get rid of those tables. Everything looks great
Thanks about the shade. And I’m definitely changing out the tables! That whole room needs an overhaul!😂
I also jump between projects.
Jumping back and forth keeps it interesting 😊
I like the shades for the glass sconces but I think they need to be a bit smaller in size for the sconce now that you've framed them.
I agree! I’ll be looking for some while out on thrift shopping trips 😊
