I spend most of my time in Minecraft creating Adventure Maps! It’s always surprising to me how few adventure maps are being released these days

@@draglorr5578 Not many are available for download and some don’t work anymore but czcams.com/video/k6K8RTLHuWk/video.html for example should work and is one of my favorites. On that channel you can see some of the maps I’ve made but that’s only a tiny fraction of all the maps

Very good video, I made an adventure map myself and really tried to capture the old awesome feeling of "mystique" that older maps had!
I look forwards to seeing the rest of this series! Hope you and the avid community continue do make these cool projects! Also would you consider looking at Minecraft bedrock adventure maps, just to see what the bedrock community has done?

New Golden Age? That would Imply the first ended, its not a new age just because it left the public eye it was always getting better some of us just weren't there to see it.

The magnum opus (in my opinion) of adventure maps came out just 3 years ago and received a content update and port to the latest version as recent as a week ago. Across the Time 2, an rpg map by the French team of two Adventquest. I can’t describe it in a way that does it justice but basically it sets the bar higher than anything else just as the first did back in 1.8

Very Interesting Video Avid, I am a soon to be adventure map maker with some ideas, Including Superheroes, yes, like Batman and Captain America, I have multiple plans, and I am honestly ready for this second golden age! It's something I have been waiting for, and Something I myself am excited for, so I hope this will be sick! Good luck on everything, I subbed because, this is exactly what I love seeing about Minecraft Other people's creations! I love it a lot!

Hey Avid, what do you think of the text display feature, Interaction Entity and all the other command block community features coming in Minecraft 1.20? I personally think it's fantastic! And I really enjoyed the video! :D
I'm glad you liked the video! 1.20 is starting to feel like the "datapack" update. There are so many amazing features that'll help me build more complex projects. I'm 100% in on the new update!
Didnt watch the video, maybe you mentioned it but I think big part in the ,,fall" of Adventure Maps is the Bedrock Marketplace, a lot of people/teams moved there because of the chance of monetising their work which is fine but it kind of killed free maps

Honestly, I miss adventure maps. I think that my time spent playing them is the only reason i like minecraft.
Neither vanilla nor any of the overhaul mods i've tryed have been able to hold my interest from longer than a day, but adventure maps kept me engrossed till the end.
I’m the same way. Minecraft is a perfect medium for them both from the creator and player perspective. Hopefully they come back again!
I did adventure map in 2016 "The Mother of Trees, but only a few people downloaded it since then. So I ended up with minecraft. But it's been many years. Maybe i will try to create a new one. Thanks for the reminder :)
I’m so glad to hear that! I definitely encourage you to try making a map again. There are so many more tools for map makers now. Also I highly recommend you join my discord. You’d fit right in with the other mapmakers.

I was no match for these maps anyway and my map was too hard to make checkpoints

My favorite part was the one with the Temple Guardian, where you need to protect him from the monsters. Twixxi did very well there.

whats your thoughts on the new commands, /ride, those new ghost blocks, excited to see what your gonna do with them
I'm really excited about the new command! Having access to /ride would have totally changed my grappling hook implementation in the last episode. Ghost blocks seem particularly interesting for visual effect, and interactor entities have endless possibilities for player interactions. It's going to be an awesome update!

Why would you not leave links to these map downloads?
Not all the creators felt comfortable sharing their work with the public. They’re in my discord - feel free to ask them for the downloads!
Why aren't there links to a download in the description?
I left it up to the creators of the maps to upload to PMC. Many did not but they tend to give the download links if you ask them in my discord!

@@AvidMc You literally just admitted in other comments not ALL of the creators are comfortable, which means you could've left links for the ones that are fine with it, but chose not to because you want those clicks :)

It makes me so mad mojang won't add features for map makers. Try being a mapmaker on bedrock, its a tough life to live.
1.19.4 was a pretty big update for Java map makers. Display, item, and interaction entities are game changers. But I don’t think a lot of those made it to bedrock.
@@AvidMc yeah, I dont't know why they do that. One thing they should add is the ability to change mob allegiances, so like you could make skeletons for example your allies.

Hmmm... Waterflow has made some good looking adventure, but from all of these cuts that you Avid have made, I don't see any interconnected rooms, or like any attempts to reuse existing rooms that make zelda interesting. From all of these, I could only select Trizzlers map as the closest to the given topic, as it as it has shown itself as not just long corridor with different interactions. There was also Trog's map, but... it only had some interesting premise, that wasn't well executed.
You'll have to see the full maps in the stream. It's a tough balance between entertaining and thorough content!

From what I gather many mapmakers moved to bedrock so that they could make money off the bedrock marketplace.

That sounds insane. I think the only way you could do that is with some clever vanilla shaders.
