Great video buddy, the bike is so cool. Awesome ride and a fantastic trail. I like the landscape you ride in. Really beautiful. Keep up the good work and have a great weekend. Ride on🤙
You know the short comings of the Z1 air. I was running 3 tokens and there was still not much support or suppleness off the top in that config and I had the right sag, now with the coil I have great support, it sits up in the travel it has zero stiction and is so supple off the top with no bottom out. Obviously not as progressive but perfect support and grip. I fall perfectly in the weight range for the firm spring rate Marzocchi have. Mate had a Vorsprung Smashpot in a Fox 36 rhythm and raved about it too. I’m sold on the coils. 👌🏻 thanks for watching, Telly
When you said 35-40, wife, kids, mortgage, middle of the road bike, budget, it's like you're talking directly to me.... I am 37 and wanting to get a middle of the road bike and tick all of those boxes... Anyway, what are some key components you reckon I should look out for on a secodn hand dual suspension between 1500-2000 to start me off on my mtb journey. I've ridden skid kids, commuters, but want to get into mtb with my sons and nephew now. Cheers and great vids
@@nigehill yeah, its hard to talk and get the words right while riding, i look back at my signing and get it find i get the words all wrong a lot of the time
I’ve switched to the Linear spring rate now and it works better than the PR spring. I used the TF Tuned spring rate calculator on the NSDynamics web site. Pick the firmer sag range
If you fall in the range of the coil spring rates on the Marzocchi chart I’d say it’s work it. They’re two different forks but the 38 is a very plush fork, maybe look at your set up before you spend the money
@@nigehill you say something true: set up The air fork correctly. Having a kid and being 38yrs let’s me less and less be willing to tinker with the infinite combination of air pressure, volume reducers and even grip damper settings. From a coil I expect to put the right or too firm spring, leaver the damper open on the downs and that’s it
@@nigehill July is the date for the area around prospect hill there is still no date for this area of the forest latest word is that it could still be a couple of years as there is big issues with making it safe for logging trucks to get in and out
@@Scotts_Singing_Sends yeah thought that too. Was talking to two forestry bloke couple weeks ago and they had no real idea on the exact date, just told me it was meant to be last year, mid year. Hopefully not at all 😭
@@nigehill yeah i think at the moment that bit is in the to hard basket, but our talks with them where around getting ready to log and what to do after they have to its going to be a while so improve things that are there and make it official with track audits and sings but nothing much has happened with that and it was supposed to happen before Christmas

Dude such an awesome/ informative video. Well told.
Thanks too kind mate, it’s pretty basic, definitely no MTB Telly. 😂
@@nigehill na mate, it’s good. I learnt some things

Well done! What spring is in the fork? Hard, probably? How much do you weigh?
Nice one coil is so much better such a big improvement. just FYI its 'berms and drops' not 'drops and berms' lol just little things set off my OCD 😂
Haha cheers Scotty. Yeah I know, just a brain fart, like when I said it feels good over the berm as I’m going over the table 🤦♂️ my ADHD

i want to do the same thing to my GT force. How much do you weigh? and what spring rate did you use for the CR?

thanks for the review. did you experience bottom outs on the bomber cr?
No not at all. Even over drops. I had the correct spring rate which definitely helps
@@nigehill thanks for the response mate
The GT Force 29 is 185x55 Trunnion mount right?
Yup it is
Ok still like the coil fork? Think about swapping my fox 38 performance against this coil fork for less arm pump

Nice one! Any word on the upcoming logging at Kangas?
I heard it was marked for harvest last July, so could be anytime. Sad as it’s my favourite place.
