I was at this show 2/2/88. Great White was opening act for Guns N Roses when they were just starting to break out. Although I wasn't there to see Great White that night, I became an instant fan after hearing this cover. I think a lot of the crowd felt the same way. Wish they could cut the crap and get the real band back together as one.
I bought this on iTunes Back in 2006 and fell in love right away. I AGREE with you 100% Jack just nailed it. How I wish I could see Led-Zeppelin Live back in the day but IF I couldn't I wish I could have made this concert so bad :( I wonder what Robert would think of it?

All of their stuff is great, but those are must haves in any serious music lovers collection. What heart and soul, in everything they do.

Never ever heard this version way back in 88 holy shit they nailed the spirit of LZ. A lot of great musicians have tried to reproduce this moment but I must say this is a very great shot.
53 now, appreciated Zep and Great White. Not this particular concert although heard GW live many a time, this particular tribute series was awesome they covered all the zep greats, and underrated at this point. chills is all I got to say on a hot California summer night.
I saw this tour and the next where they were the headliner. Very good always one of my favorite bands and yes Mark can absolutely burn the guitar down.
I remember hearing this and being blown away. Same thing 10 years later with the Great Zeppelin album. Simply amazing. Jack Russell proves that he is one of the most underrated voices in rock history. Plant is a God but I feel completely comfortable saying that Russell might actually be stronger live than Plant was with these tunes. No disrespect meant, just saying what my ears are telling me.

After listening to this cover version for 24 years I'm still in total awe of how great it is. I've been a die-hard Led Zeppelin fan since 1983 but I 100% believe Jack Russel's cover is way better then the original, way better!
I have been a fan of this band since the recovery days... I have saw them live about 20 times over the past 30 years... I was blessed to see them in their calling back in the late 80's @ the vogue in indpls with the bullet boyz opening for them. They played this, babe im gonna leave you, and when the levee breaks in their Zep set... They did these songs even better than some of their own live... I got to meet Jack and Mark that night. The band I was in at the time attended this show and we got back stage after their show. I have always thought they were so much better than the other 80's bands because they were/are so bluesy and were very good musicians... Not like the Poison, warrant, and many others in the 80's that jumped on motley crues run of things...

One of my favorite bands playing my all time favorite band! I was 18 when this was made and still love going back to all the early Great White albums. Wish so much they were still one band together. Jack has overcome his demons and can still belt out those songs. Nothing gets any better than this right here though! Love it!

Accidentally stumbled upon this video. Best performance since Led Zeppelin! Vocalist "handsome"! The timbre of the voice is very similar to the unique timbre of Robert Plant. While maintaining the entire blues texture, the tragic "spirit" of the idea is preserved. The group has managed to maintain a certain "recklessness", "hooliganism", in the good sense of the word. Without excessive, refined "purity", without "white gloves". Super! If I came across this record only in the audio version, without video, and without the name of the band, then I (probably not only me) would most likely think that this is one of the options for a Led Zeppelin live concert. Live concerts never exactly repeat the studio performance. Various new "chips" at live concerts, this is an element of a restless creative nature, and this is the whole "relish" of live concerts. I listen many times. Such a "carpenter", so many "ambitions", in a good way. If I had heard this version earlier than Led Zeppelin, then I'm not sure whose performance of them I would like more ... Both are "handsome" in performance, but ... No, of course Led Zeppelin not only performed it incomparably, but they are also the authors of this incomparable blues, which is definitely "for all time". Led Zeppelin is without a doubt the pinnacle of rock and blues music. The melodiousness of Jimi Page's guitar improvisations and the timbre and interpretation of Robert Plant created a unique "song" that cannot be confused with anything else. I have never heard this version of my favourite Led Zep song and I don't know a great deal about Great White but this guy fucking nails it! Reminds me of Robert Plant of old, shame Plant still won't go down the Zep road again! Mind you, he can't sing like this anymore, fair play he's an old man! Jack Russell and Mark Kendall were a killer combination. (Not taking anything away from the rest of the band, at all)... Check out all of the albums they did together. What a great catalog.. One of the best to own as a blues fan. LOVE these guys. I'd be ecstatic if they'd get back together and tour as the original band again. Jack Russell, like Sammy Hagar, has still got it after all these years. That's saying a lot for a lead singer at their age.

Best performance since Led Zeppelin! Vocalist "handsome"! The timbre of the voice is very similar to the unique timbre of Robert Plant. While maintaining the entire blues texture, the tragic "spirit" of the idea is preserved. The group has managed to maintain a certain "recklessness", "hooliganism", in the good sense of the word. Without excessive, refined "purity", without "white gloves". Super!
If I came across this record only in the audio version, without video, and without the name of the band, then I (probably not only me) would most likely think that this is one of the options for a Led Zeppelin live concert. Live concerts never exactly repeat the studio performance. Various new "chips" at live concerts, this is an element of a restless creative nature, and this is the whole "relish" of live concerts.
I listen many times. Such a "carpenter", so many "ambitions", in a good way. If I had heard this version earlier than Led Zeppelin, then I'm not sure whose performance of them I would like more ... Both are "handsome" in performance, but ... No, of course Led Zeppelin not only performed it incomparably, but they are also the authors of this incomparable blues, which is definitely "for all time".
Led Zeppelin is without a doubt the pinnacle of rock and blues music. The melodiousness of Jimi Page's guitar improvisations and the timbre and interpretation of Robert Plant created a unique "song" that cannot be confused with anything else.
Here I'm only talking about the performance, and only of this one song.
Definitely this performance of "Great White - "Since I've Been Loving You" - The Ritz 1988" to my personal library!

Если бы мне попалась эта запись только аудио варианте, без видео, и без названия группы, то я (наверное и не только я), скорее всего, подумал бы, что это один из вариантов живого концерта Led Zeppelin. Живые концерты никогда точь-в точь не повторяют студийного исполнения. Различные новые "фишки" на живых концертах, это элемент неспокойной творческой натуры, и в этом весь "смак" живых концертов!
Слушаю много раз. Такой "плотняк", столько "амбиций", в хорошем смысле. Если бы услышал этот вариант раньше чем Led Zeppelin, то я уже не уверен в том, чье исполнение из них мне бы больше понравилось... Оба "красавчики" в исполнении, но... Нет конечно Led Zeppelin не только бесподобно ее исполнили, но они еще и авторы этого бесподобного блюза, который безусловно "на все времена".
Led Zeppelin без всяких сомнений это вершина музыки рок анд блюз. Мелодизм гитарных импровизаций Джими Пэйджа и тембр и трактовка Роберта Планта создали неповторимый "сонг", который нельзя спутать ни с чем.
Здесь я говорю только об исполнении, и только этой одной песни.

I have never heard this version of my favourite Led Zep song and I don't know a great deal about Great White but this guy fucking nails it! Reminds me of Robert Plant of old, shame Plant still won't go down the Zep road again! Mind you, he can't sing like this anymore, fair play he's an old man! It just reminds me why I became a singer/guitarist in the first place! This song makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up still, awesome!

Great Fucking White. This is nothing short of incredible. What heart and soul these guys pour into every ounce of effort in this song. Dammit man. Bet Page and Plant shit when they saw/heard this.

When it comes to bluesy rocknroll, it just don't get any better than this, folks. Period. Bein a huge Great White fan, I'm gonna piss a few people off when I say that I personally like this better than the original, but that's just my opinion. Jack Russell and Mark Kendall were a killer combination. (Not taking anything away from the rest of the band, at all)... Check out all of the albums they did together. What a great catalog.. One of the best to own as a blues fan. LOVE these guys. I'd be ecstatic if they'd get back together and tour as the original band again. Jack Russell, like Sammy Hagar, has still got it after all these years. That's saying a lot for a lead singer at their age.

if i'd known all I had to do to see Zeppelin in 1988 the year I graduated high school was go see Great White I would have. That was a phenomenal performance. 31 years later I find this video.
I dont usually go for zeppelin covers because I am a die hard zep fan and to me most of the time nobody does zeppelin like zeppelin but this one is awsome.
