Mark Kendall and Jack Russell. Deadly blues combination. This band is one of the best, if not the best, at blending vocals, guitar, and piano into a heartfelt blues with more soul than anyone out there. To real musicians, and lovers of REAL music, it doesn't get any better than this. And you can see it in people as well. Find someone on the street with a Justin Bieber tshirt on, and one with a Great White tshirt, and have a separate conversation with each. You'll notice the difference in intellect immediately. Today's music has no soul. The 80s had the best music all the way around. Even the "pop" on radio, had a happy and good vibe to it. I love the "hair bands", but I still smile when I hear Huey Lewis or Duran Duran come on. It was good times back then.

R.I.P Jack Russell, one of the greatest voices of generation. "Love is a Lie" should have become an all time Rock music classic in 1993, instead we've got suites in the offices promoting anyone who was able to do a half assed parody of Seattle bands.

Genius Rock N Roll!! This band had it all. Incredible musicianship, brilliant lyrics. Poetry set to the soundtrack of every emotion. Russell/Kendall were magic.
Kendall is on of the best at tasty bluesy fills and solos. Such a great player! Always have loved his playing. Can't see how he's not mentioned more in guitar talk.
Greatest 80s band of all time as far as I'm concerned. The rock blues Fusion is awesome and Mark Kendall is a totally underrated and unappreciated guitarist as far as being ranked with the all-time greats that is. His licks are so tasteful and as Robin Trower is living proof of it's not how many notes you hit to the bar it's what you say with the notes you do hit.
Seen Great White in a bar room in Manchester,N.H. I bet there wasn't 20 people there. What a performance.The next night would be the "Station" Fire In Rhode Island. I put Jack Russel with Robert Plant and David Coverdale. AWSOME vocalist.

Clearly one of the best live acts to ever come out of the 80's but fell victim to 80's excess, and never recieved the recognition they deserved...Not even close.

This band has written some of the most soulful music ever..glad these guys found each other way back when and wrote about their experiences...better live than on the albums and Russell had the smoothest vocal sound ever.

Way underated band
I love this band so much. Sometimes, once in a blue moon, a few musicians get together and click !! They make the best music. Then they fight and fight and then break up! This is ONE band i wish would reunite!! They are just badass!!
Russell never received the recognition for his voice he should have.... One of the best ...His redo of "Babe, I'm Going To Leave You" from Zeppelin is awesome....

If I remember correctly, this song came out, when grunge was already taking over. This is why the album, and quite frankly the band is underrated. There are however other factors why Great White is underrated.

My all-time favorite rock song from the era. Big Great White fan anyway but this song is a gem. Yet so few know of it because it released in the haze of grunge. Epic songwriting and execution.

I'm glad I grew up with bands like this. REAL musicians there isn't musicianship like this anymore. Songs like this you can play in a dark room and you can become Jack Russell or Mark Kendall for 3 minutes or so if you want to. I miss the days of this music. How the guitar is kinda reminds me of Crystal Eyes by LA Guns

it is true that Mark Kendell don't get great credit for his talent, playing a mean guitar! he should be in the guitar hall of fame as well. he deserves it.
He may not be a shredder to today's standards, but his epic guitar tone and tastes blues riffs are what makes him such a soulful player. Too bad things went the way they did for this band. I really miss the arena rock days!

Totally agree. He's no super technician, but he played FOR the songs. Great tone, great feel, and no wasted notes, which at the end of the day made his solos enjoyable to listen to.

Psycho City, Sail Away, and Let It Rock were all Great White albums released after grunge music took hold of the music scene, yet those albums were fantastic, despite not receiving the attention they deserved.
