The Mercedes-Benz GLC is the Australia’s - and the world’s - top-selling mid-size luxury SUV. It’s also Mercedes best-selling model, having overtaken the C-Class to claim top spot a couple of years ago.
To call its second-generation successor - which will soon arrive Down Under in just one variant - a big deal is an understatement. So what’s our verdict on the all-new 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLC now that we’ve driven it?
Safe and conservative are the operative words here. The design doesn’t stray too far from its popular predecessor’s and, while there are some neat upgrades in terms of technology and powertrains, it doesn’t exactly reinvent the wheel.
But the new German medium SUV still delivers plenty of luxury and has loads of showroom appeal, and won’t have to cower in the face of stiff new competition, as Feann Torr discovered at the MkII GLC’s international launch in Spain.

Grossly overpriced. Merc Australia have jacked up prices of a good 10-15k from their predecessor
