@@cn2673 - Risky? Yes. If he can, inspect the car or send someone to do it for him. I bought a Hail damaged car (2018 Outback Limited) for $13,000 off of Coparts. Best purchase I've ever made. I got lucky.

@@BezzOH633 It uses same technology from previous allison transmissions. This one was made at gm factories elsewhere from what I hear. Allison went over this tranny and gave it their approval, so basically its an allison transmission

One thing I like about this truck is they stuck with the column shifter. Still so cool.
Ya know all the HD diesels have a column shifter? Ford has that rinky dinky one.
I'm not a huge fan of the truck but I love Chev's that have that rear view camera integrated into the mirror. Such a sleek idea. I don't think I'd ever use the mirror itself.

A few of these have been straight piped and they sound so cool... I’d highly recommend looking up a video of a deleted and tuned L5P Duramax, it might just make your day if you like truck sounds as much as me.

Boy, fell down a rabbit hole. Check out US 12 at Wiard Rd in Ypsilanti, MI, where this video starts out. Major road diet happened recently and it's pretty cool to follow the progression on satellite imagery.
Obviously, it has the feature to cancel background noise. Much improved overall features from the last time I actually drove a Sedan. Maybe that 2008.
No it doesnt. I have a loaded ltz 2021 dmax 2500. They are just quiet super easy to drive and the interiors are extremely ergonomic. Pulling heavy trailers is effortless. Makes the dodge and ford diesels I tested seem like rejects from 1902.
that duramax sounds like a mercedes v6 diesel engine. love that sound:P

That's not a camera. Most rear view mirrors have a tab you can push away from you to change the angle of the mirror so that headlights from behind at night aren't blinding you. He pushed the tab towards him for daytime.

How you liking the 10 speed
I drive one with the 10 speed. It's great and very good for pulling heavy loads off the start. 65 mph it tachs 1300 rpm not pulling. While pulling it tachs 1600 rpm and it averages 17.3 mpg for me. I drive it daily and tow 6000 pounds a few times a week. These trucks don't sway at all while towing either. You really don't even know you are pulling anything.
what is that pounding sound in the engine?
It’s a diesel of a fairly large displacement. It’s kind of how they sound.
Why does the motor sound like it has rod knock? These 6.6 are supposed to be the quietness diesels. With headphones on a hear a knocking in the background from inside the cabin while idling and going low speeds. It's a deep monotone sound. Hope it's nothing serious but that would drive me crazy. I don't mind the usual diesel sound but not unusual noises especially if they are normal.

mine does 60-80 psi
That interior is still the same from 2014 but whatever the Ram 1500 and Ford F-150 will always be my top two when considering a truck
