    Thankyou so much sir. I had a ge washer with the 5 second spin during testing and after watching your video I ordered an inverter board. Problem fixed. Your video made it super easy to remove the front panel of the washer and swap the board. I ended up using a woodworking trigger clamp with a reversed jaw to stretch the gasket spring enough to re-install (with zip ties like you mentioned). Great video.

    You posted this just at the right time. Currently dealing with issues with my GE front-load washer right now and this is saving me a lot of time and money. Already had a handyman come out and replace the drain filter but turns out that wasn’t the issue. With your video I’m troubleshooting the issues and accessing the error codes myself rather than paying someone else to come out just to tell me the inverter motor is fried and I need to replace the entire washer, which unfortunately seems to be the case. Thanks!

    Thanks so much for this information. Ours stopped and I got the board in today. Took about an hour to do it and I used the wire tie clamp method to do the spring. Did not have to remove the weight or tilt the wash and I did not remove the top either. As the codes pointed directly to this as the problem when the drum spun freely. Thanks!!!!!!

    Inverter board? I have to assume because the motor is DC? I wonder if there will come a time that electricity is converted to DC when in comes into the home, or maybe even on the utility pole. All our electronic devices have converters to DC and all major appliances will run more efficientely with DC motors. Look at split system A/C units for an example. And of course if solar is part of the equation staying DC all the way is also more efficient. LED light bulbs run on DC and convert within, no? AC was great for incandescent lights, but who uses them anymore? Giant battery farms are springing up in our neighborhoods and they have to invert/convert coming and going each way significant losses. I may not see it in my lifetime but I think DC is the future. Not of course for transmission, but once at a reasonable proximity. I came here thinking about buying a GE washer but your videos are scaring me away. Thanks.

    Please consider a video on window air conditioners. What are good models. The ones sold at Home Depot, Lowe's and Walmart seem to be disposables.
    I have a 98' 7800 Btu Panasonic window AC, and a Kenmore 8000 Btu that was purchased about six years ago when the stores were closing.
    The Panasonic is much heavier, quieter and blows the doors off the Kenmore.

    Ben! I have the wifi capable version of this wacher with the "tide" auto dispenser.
    I've used Tide's washing machine cleaner with oxi a couple times now, but I'm curious if it's overkill. One packet caused the entire machine to fill with suds. After the painfully long (nearly a whole day) self clean cycle, there were still cleaner detergent particles in the drum. The instructions state not to use it with clothes so I ran some empty wash cycles to purge it. I then experimented by using about half of the pack and it only caused 1/3 -1/2 of the drum to fill...but no detergent remained that time.
    Serious question: Is the totally full drum necessary for self clean?

    I really do not like GE appliances. I worked at GE Aviation and saw first hand how GE cheap out on producing parts. I also had a old 1993, I seem to recall, GE top loading washing machine which was pretty good which lasted over 20 years & used a cider block for a counter balance. I now have a LG front loader washer & dryer. I am not impressed with these. I have to set the washing machine spin cycle to medium so it does not come up with a uneven load error. When I have to start replacing all of the appliances, I will get a Samsung all in one washer/dryer since I seem to remember you gave the Samsung unit better review then the GE & LG units. Please correct me if I am wrong.

    • @Ikey04-ge9gy
      @Ikey04-ge9gy Před měsícem +1

      LG is definitely the more reliable and better performing washer dryer set of the three. The uneven load error isn’t due to spin speed, it’s due to what you put inside it. If you put singular or small loads of heavy items it will easily go off balance.

    Hey Ben, I just got the SQ TC5, I heard from someone else who has the same SQ that the computer board failed 2 times in the first 8 months of ownership, and that they wash some loads on hot, and the SQ is kept inside a laundry room. After my 2nd load on just warm with the laundry room fan on, I noticed it was a little humid in my laundry room. I'm thinking the natural humidity that the SQ gives off is destroying the computer boards quickly. Is this a problem, or is there something else I'm not understanding?

      I decided on an the Electrolux 3 Series
      Washer (ELFW7337AW) with LuxCare® Wash System.
      Dryer (ELFE733CAW) with LuxCare® Lint Shield
      Doesn’t have all the bells and whistles and that’s what I wanted. Hopefully I made the right decision.

    My washing machine (Model Number GFW850SSN0WW) won't spin more than 5-7 seconds even during the spin and accelerated spin tests. I know my damper was bad and I just changed that. Is it possible it is the inverter board or the accelerometer? How would I know if it is one or the other before ordering the right part?

    • @bensappliancesandjunk
      @bensappliancesandjunk  Před měsícem +1

      Inverter board 99% of the time with that explanation of failure. Very rarely accelerometer, and you should see inverter board codes vs. accellerometer codes.

      Its helped a lot of people so far, and the solutions offered are known to work. We've used this solution to fix multiple GEs, and I know that this is the standard series of tests to confirm / replace the inverter if its bad. I am sorry if you had issues with the video, but I was asked to do this after hundreds of people having bad units from other videos I did.
