Yours is one of the few reviews of the '23 updated Trophy, but can i check that, with that revision, you can turn off Lane Keep Assist and it will stay off until reset by the driver, rather than reset automatically as before?

Great vid. Just ordered the MG4 Trophy Long Range through work on a 3 year lease. Comes in March. Currently drive an Alfa Giulietta JTDM 2.0 so should be an interesting swap. My first EV and im the same as you 😂😂
Hi Callum, thanks for the message. I think you’ll enjoy the instant torque with the MG, it’s just a nice simple first EV. Done almost 1.5K miles in it so far and everything is still absolutely fine, I love driving it and I hope you do too. I’m not affiliated with MG or anything, I’m just a big standard end user with my first EV that I can afford.
Regen can't happen on a full battery. Imagine a whole bucket of water; now try and put more water in! There is nowhere for the electrons to go. Tesla merges mechanical brakes with regen, with 100% battery, gradually reducing brakes until the battery is sufficiently empty to accept the energy from regen. MG may do something similar.
Yeah, it was explained in a previous comment, but I still appreciate the comment👍, I’ve noticed once it gets to 90% and less it will operate the regen.
I’ve always been curious and want to eventually own an EV. My problem is I have little patience and never want to stop once I leave in a trip until I’m at my destination. Problem is I’m over 1000 miles away from family. So it would take a lot of stops to charge if I ever wanted to visit. I think that alone would stop me from ever going a long distance because I won’t go if I have to stop haha.
With that kind of mileage you definitely will find an EV a problem with distances, you’d need 5 rapid charges to get to your destination, but with a rapid charge only taking 30 mins to 80%. You’d best wait a few years as battery improvements are happening all the time, it’s like the 1900’s with petroleum cars at the moment, will be a few more years until it’s suitable for distances like you, where you’d only need one charge, that’s why I think cars that have a gas motor just for the battery is better for you.
Surely you wouldn’t drive 1000 miles without stopping?
How often do you do that trip , you would need to stop every 3 hours for a stretch anyway
Big saving on fuel. Just take longer, take the slower lane with more breaks……break the cycle of this mad world going at a flat out pace 24/7
