    How ironic is it that critics claim that Moses didn't have enough sophistication to have a written language, so couldn't have written the Pentatuch. Yet, scripture says Moses was raised through early adulthood in the household of Pharaoh where he would most definitely have been literate and learned in the chief power-brokers of the known world at that time: Egypt. God is sooo Good! He knows the end from the beginning!

    Thankyou for showing the interview with Scott.
    I was amazed at this wonderful news.
    Katy, Texas is a town that I'm familiar with. Our Church in Sacramento planted a church there in Katy, Texas after Hurricane Katrina occurred. Our pastoral staff went to Galveston to the beach that was to be visited by Katrina. They prayed that God would turn this hurricane away from Galveston. God heard their prayer and answered it by turning this hurricane away from Galveston.
    God is awesome!
    I thank Him for the revealing by evidence of the truth of scripture.

David Rhul ( a professed atheist) helped Tim develop this excellent documentary and agrees on a later Exodus and historical evidence for Moses writing the 1st 5 books of the Old Testament in pre-Hebrew. Everything said in this excellent video with Dr. Stripling supports the Mahoney documentary. Please check out the series.

I looked at the date this Curse was "released" throughout the world and counted Daniel's 21 days of fasting and prayer that concluded with an angel giving him the 70 Weeks prophecy and the 21st day lands on Passover, April 16 when Israel will be EXACTLY 27,000 days old. Then he sees the 4 horsemen of Revelation 6 and Joshua being crowned. This Curse was discovered in December 2019....27 months later it is released. The problem with all the sciences, archaeology included, (and the reading of scripture) is that there is always a propensity to want it to say what you want to hear.... often sadly, at the expense of truth. Jesus said, '....because i seek not my own will....therefore my judgements are true.'

    • @appianmedia
      @appianmedia  Před rokem +1

      While it is true that with archaeology, as with some sciences (not all), it is a matter of gathering the facts available, coming to a logical conclusion that best fits the available information, and being willing to adjust (or even disregard) that conclusion when new discoveries are made that may challenge those conclusions. You are correct, one must be honest in their search and remove any preconceived ideas or biases (as best as they are able) before drawing any conclusions. In regards to scripture, II Pet. 1:20 says “knowing this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture comes from someone’s own interpretation.” We therefore must be diligent to understand God’s one truth, rather than what we might wish to be true.

    • @appianmedia
      @appianmedia  Před 2 lety +7

      That's incorrect. There were approx. 40 different authors that wrote the Bible and the gospel of Mark was written within 30-40 years of Jesus' lifetime, meaning that Mark would have been foolish indeed to attempt to write a fictional account that would have been easily disproven as the majority of his readers would have been alive during the time of Jesus ministry. The fact that 40 different authors, writing in multiple languages, over a such a long period of time, have written a cohesive and harmonious account of God's interaction and plan for mankind is, in and of itself, one of the things that sets the Bible apart. The erroneous litmus test that you use to discount the biblical text would invalidate every other historical account older than 200 years. czcams.com/video/pjBXva-xn-c/video.html

    From an academic perspective, there are several possible issues here. 1/ it seems the people researching this stuff are coming in with very definite biases in terms of a framework of belief, this is fine, but needs to be acknowledged and the appropriate steps taken regarding accounting for bias which is what we try and do in the social sciences for example (that would include things like confirmation bias) 2/ This is unpublished work, not yet peer reviewed but being marketed as conclusive, and the press-releases done before the paper is published in a respected journal. 3/ The image associated with the word used for God is shown is a very clear black and white rendering, however, the image processing that has been done here would need to be shown to be purely algorithmic and not based on assumptions as to what letters were present for the interpretation to seem solid.

Are there many other sources written in the same or similar alphabet, that of which we have reliable cross-translation? It feels like there is the possibility of uncharted territory, considering Semitic, Hebrew and Phoenician languages all had 22 characters. Akkadian had a few hundred characters, and used symbols moreso than letters. A solid explanation for the additional 18 characters of this proto-Hebrew language would be very helpful and grease the skids for the scholarly types who need more evidence-based content with a properly written backstory.

    I was told to come here but as predicted ..I am still left wondering why someone can translate something into English from an language they don't even understand and why if it has been 'hidden' for over 2000 years why you can't show us ALL the writing... where is the 3d scan? It all sounds like mumbo jumbo..
    If the letters were made into lead then if you open it they would still be visible..
    Perhaps it is because noone is brave enough to actually open a 'cursed' object?
    I dunno... quite a few things just don't add up. and his explanations aren't helping..
    Edit even the word 'collaboration' is a little strange used only when attempting to produce something (which shouldn't be necessary as it apparently already exists noone needs to make anything together)
    Or it refers to traitorous behaviour..

      I agree there are reasons for skepticism, but here are some possible answers to your questions:
      1. They have the roots for proto-Hebrew words and probable translations. That would likely explain why the number of letters appears small for the number of words.
      2. The 3D scans aren't complete. Alternatively the scans are complete, but they don't want to publish the scans until the paper is finished which requires further analysis.
      3. Lead is not indestructible, and attempting to open the tablet would compromise its integrity; they addressed this in the initial presentation.
      4. "Collaboration" just means they have multiple scientists working on the paper/analysis. That's quite typical for any discovery of consequence.

      The scans aren't complete.. yes we know its a simplified version of existing or previous languages but that's all he could show us?
      Maybe my 'collaboration' remark was 'stretching the envelope' but otherwise, I'll need better 'possible explanations' to convince me yet..
      But cheers

      I'm in a similar position of healthy skepticism. I watched 3 hours of Scott Stripling videos on this trying to sift out facts from conjecture. He calls it proto-Hebrew or paleo-Hebrew, and mentions there are 40 characters used and 23 words. If you look closely at the characters he presents, calling them characters, although, they look more like symbols and particularly seems like a stretch to be drawn so articulately on a 2 cm x 2 cm tablet (with a lead pen). But hey, these guys are scientists so for the moment I'll give them some assumed credit along with a healthy dose of standoffishness.
      I'm where you are though in wondering how they got from point A to point C. How much other documentation is recorded in this variant of proto-Hebrew? How do we get across time and geography and language to reach an English translation? Translation isn't 'we have it or we don't', it should be always expressed with a degree of certainty (%). Considering Hebrew, Semitic, Aramaic, and Pheonician all have 22 characters it poses a pretty big bridge to get across with the extra 18 characters and with what degree of certainty we understand/decode/translate them correctly.

    Why is no one asking the most obvious question...how do you get from plaster covered stones (which is what God commanded the Israelites to write the words of the law upon) to a lead tablet (in the same passage in Dueteronomy He commanded them to use no lead tool upon the alter at least and all of it I assume)?

    • @MineStrongth
      @MineStrongth Před 2 lety +5

      I don't think it sounds like a very obvious question. Why are you asking about a plaster-covered altar and the word of the law when the discussion is about a lead tablet? The curse tablet is obviously not an altar, so what Deut says about the altar seems irrelevant. There were also curses spoken at Mt Ebal in Deut which makes finding a curse tablet there significant.
