    Hey, you don’t need to make it gravity fed man. The pump will pull the water from the tank. Keep your suction line from the tank as short as possible. That’s the only important thing. Obviously use a suction/crush proof line so it doesn’t close up.

      Even with a direct drive Pump?
      I know belt, and gear drives pull. But I hear pretty consistently most direct drives wont pull water

  • @Dinomitsios
    @Dinomitsios Před rokem +1

    I’ve tried the gravity fed with my direct drive pump. It didn’t work. Probably need to upgrade at some time to a belt drive. At that point I’m also going to upgrade to a higher gpm pump.

    Softwashing is still pressure washing, just low pressure instead of high pressure. Downstream is low pressure softwashing. High pressure washing a home would not end very well for the soft siding and seals. The only environment I have ever actually high pressure power washed, was industrial janitorial work for Jeep. We cleaned paint off the paint booths with a 2k pressure washer, and for some of the heavy duty sludge/paint cleaning we had a 30k team.

    Are you pulling chemical from your truck/trailer with the xjet or are you down-streaming off the chemical injector. I’m trying to figure out how to do that. Im in the beginning of building the trailer. Thanks in advance for any advice/ response.

    • @steppspressurewashing
      @steppspressurewashing  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Hey, thanks for watching!! I'm down streaming from the injector at the trailer. The m5ds is a low pressure nozzle which allows me to pull soap. The x jet has just enough pressure to disengage the dsi to just pull water. Here's a video that I think will help you starting out. czcams.com/video/ViwMWKU-3vg/video.html

    If you are going to keep your current trailer set up you would benefit from just a 50g buffer tank. You dont have to ride around with it full if you dont want to. Dont want to go to heavy on that trailer! With the tank being taller than the PW it will gravity feed itself. Bulk head fitting on the bottom!
    As far as yard signs, keep putting them out. If you are steadily getting booked just raise prices a little to balance it out. Keep up the good work.

      Yeah, my weight limit is 2k. But the trailer itself takes 400lbs right off the top. I have thought about removing the ramp on the back to shed some weight. Are you thinking 50 gal leg tank or barrel style?

    How do you switch from soap to water for rinsing? Do you have to go back to the truck and just pull the injector out of the soap?

    • @steppspressurewashing
      @steppspressurewashing  Před měsícem +1

      Hey Jeff, I actually use the M5 X jet Nozzle along with the M5 DS nozzle as my jrod setup. So the m5ds pulls soap, and the X jet doesn't because it is a high pressure nozzle. No need to go back to the truck to rinse. I just change nozzles, and bleed the pressure line.

  • @jd-it4on
    @jd-it4on Před 9 měsíci +2

    So u r batch mixing and using downstreaming from pressure washer? So to rinse u r going to your trailer and pulling the drop stick or what ever out of your bleach mix, running the hose until just water comes out,rinse then put drop stick back in to get mix and repeat? If this is the case how often r u having to replace your hose since u r running bleach through it. I'm using the x jet for now and can't stand walking around with the second hose and a bucket of bleach, so looking for a new cost affective way with out building a electric soft wash system with proportion system. And all that stuff.

    • @steppspressurewashing
      @steppspressurewashing  Před 9 měsíci

      Yes and no. I use an M5 DS nozzle to create a low enough pressure to pull soap with the downstream injector. Then I switch to the Xjet M5 to create enough back pressure to stop pulling soap. The same effect can be produced with a standard JROD as well, but I just prefer the twist nozzles. I tried walking back to the trailer for my 1st 3 houses... 100% not doing that all day.

    how do you determine the 1% mix? You have to start with a 5, 10, or 12.5 % sh so how do you get to teh 1%? is it diluted via the press washer at a certain gpm or are you diluting in teh bucket down to 1%?

    • @steppspressurewashing
      @steppspressurewashing  Před 6 měsíci

      I dilute in my mix tank, then run it through a 7 to 1 downstream injector. If I ran 15% through the DSI it would be about 1.875% at the nozzle. So I have to mix it about 50 - 50 in the tank that feeds the DSI
