    Great quality, extra batteries, and beautiful design, the Syma F3 helicopter is one of my favorites. It's not as fast as the V911 by WL Toys but it makes up for it with it's tough and sexy exterior.

      +Sebasstian86 Maybe you should have started with coaxial syma s107 then 800g then move on to fixed pitch IMO. thts how I did. Gret heli tho and while you at it get the V911 great too.

    It's heat shrink tubing on the tail motor. I got the idea from the F3 and now, I, add a little to all my micro helicopters to protect the tail motor. I find this helicopter to be slower than the v911. It's fine indoors, but, if there is too much wind outside, then, it's not very fun.
    I use the remote that came with the Syma X1 UFO. It will bind to the F3 with no problems and looks identical. The difference is that you can turn with the left stick. Having the X1 controller will make this helicopter control like a normal mode 2 helicopter.
    Syma makes a another helicopter called the F4, that, can be found online for approximately $25. I find it much faster and more fun after some minor mods. Just remember that the F4 is only 3 channels not 4. Some of the parts like the flybar are interchangeable between the F3 and f4.

    Hey devolutiondav, I couldn't respond to your comment. I've had luck with syma and wltoys controllers working on different helicopters and quadcopters but I haven't tested the X5C-1 controller with the F3 yet. I want to say yes but I'm not 100% sure. I will be getting the X5C-1 next week and will test it out and let you know.

    This answered all my questions! I wanted to know how to trim, cons pros, flying, and you did the best job of doing that (i was on my dads youtube acount yesterday trying to get help) i did go with the v911 pro...idk if i will regret or not? The syma f3 does look alot better and seems to handle better, i wanted speed and i know the v911 pro flies good just not as stable, but im excited and one more question? If i do just get the syma F3 alone which is cheaper without controller and stuff, can i change frequency to fly the syma when i get my v911 controller? Man thats alot of typing...ok so again thx for the outstanding reveiw!

    Great review, looks like I made a good choice for stepping up from 3ch double horse hellis. I have a syma X5C-1 the tx look identical except for the aircraft icon on the lcd. Do you know if they are interchangeable? So I dont have to have two remotes with batteries sitting in them? Cute cats too btw.

    @chrise.400 Před 9 lety

    Maybe I should have asked you before pulling the trigger but I have already purchased the F3...
    I doubt very much if I will buying another heli in this size range, as the F3 is more of a stepping stone on to the larger more capable heli's, but - if I do stay in this size range the V911-Pro will be on my short list.

    Good review Erik, thanks. So given you have both the V-911 Pro and the Syma F3, and have had ample time to fly and enjoy both - if you had to pick only one - which would it be all things considered (reliability, build quality, flight characteristics, fun factor etc.)?

    • @ErikSummer
      @ErikSummer  Před 9 lety

      Thanks. Everything considered I'd go with the V911. The Syma F3 has a better build quality and i personally think it looks nicer but I really like the way the V911 handles. (faster and more responsive).

    @agujadriver7209 Před 9 lety

    i got it and to me that is the best single rotor i ever fly, better than the famous v911 or v911 pro, Syma f1 its very easy to fly and the cronstruction is for along time

    should i buy this heli or the v911 pro? i had a syma s107 but after mastering flying it, it got boring. i dont want a helicopter that i will get bored of again

    • @ErikSummer
      @ErikSummer  Před 7 lety

      Get the V911. It's a giant step up from the Syma S107. The F3 is discontinued, but it was very similar to the V911.

    • @ErikSummer
      @ErikSummer  Před 9 lety

      motormusic1 It will help yes! These small 4 channel helicopters recover much faster and don't break as easily as the larger helicopters so they're great to learn on! I would go with the V911 amzn.to/1HQljvc It's better then the Syma F3

    • @WayneStark626
      @WayneStark626 Před 8 lety

      +Erik Summer I think thy are both good in their own way. the v911 is more agile and faster but the F3 is way more stable and composed IMO. I have both and love them dearly. I think its good to have both.

      +flenny Here's the F3: amzn.to/1R8ZE0N I bought it for $40 and a month later they raised the price to around $70 and I just don't think it's worth it since the V911 is very similar and a lot cheaper.

    Hey im looking to get one, on the v911 you can change modes and swap sticks, can you do the same on the F3,

    • @ErikSummer
      @ErikSummer  Před 9 lety

      You mean make the throttle on the right stick? The controller is pretty basic and the only functions that you can adjust is the trim and the two performance modes. I'll try taking a closer look and maybe look at the inside to see if I can find some switch to do so. I'll let you know if I come up with anything.

    • @UKJaiO
      @UKJaiO Před 9 lety

    • @ErikSummer
      @ErikSummer  Před 7 lety

      You're right, these little $40 toy helicopters won't be very precise but for the price the V911 flies great. It's the best rc helicopter to learn on if you plan on moving up to more expensive helis.

    Hi Erik
    Quick question - will Syma F3 bind with stock V911 transmitter?
    Many thanks and also you vids! They have helped me a lot in my newbie 'midlife crisis' hobby! ;-)
    Cheers

    • @ErikSummer
      @ErikSummer  Před 9 lety

    • @ErikSummer
      @ErikSummer  Před 9 lety

      Hi Yarns. I tested the Syma F3 on the V911 control and it's binds great. I also did it the other way around. I did a test flight and the trim was way off but after some adjusting they both flew great with the different controllers.

    Erik, i have a question. How can i change from mode 2 into mode 1? Thanks

    • @ErikSummer
      @ErikSummer  Před 9 lety

      There's a button on top of the controller. You'll hear a beep and on the controller LCD you'll see either "mode 1/mode 2" or "high/low"

    • @davidruiz4
      @davidruiz4 Před 9 lety

      Erik i mean change the mode of the sticks, no high and low the other two modes

    • @andrewsilvers3846
      @andrewsilvers3846 Před 9 lety

      Hi David, to switch stick modes: push and hold the right stick turning trim to the right then turn transmitter on…That is how it works on my F3. I couldn't figure out how to switch modes until I looked at this: www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1953363

    Hey man is it hobby grade

    • @ErikSummer
      @ErikSummer  Před 9 lety

      Hey good question. I wouldn't say its hobby grade because it lacks brushless motors and has a very basic remote BUT matching performance to money spent, the F3 and the V911 are at the top. For someone who wants to learn on a cheaper helicopter that flies like a hobby grade helicopter without spending 100's then I would highly recommend the Syma F3.

    • @rustezzz5785
      @rustezzz5785 Před 9 lety

      Yes man just by looking at your video the way it fly's it's so stable the quality is nice . love the way it fly's outside the color skim is beautiful

    • @RedstonePyroMan
      @RedstonePyroMan Před 8 lety

      I would say it's not hobby grade because the batteries and the radio are proprietary. a hobby grade heli should work with universal brands like SPEKTRUM and HITEC
