They all look the same to me. Sepia toned interiors - bit of a cocktail cliche .I don't belong in those bars, they're a bit pretentious. I'm not really into cocktails anyway. I'd rather have a cheap beer on the street than an expensive cocktail. Aren't cocktails really for women?

Yes bamboo bar is our no. 1 go to place in Bangkok, even we prefer to stay, at a hotel more to our taste, we always spent an evening here at the jazz bar.
Its history includes a never ending long list of celebrities, even every time we go here, the lobby is full of guests in tuxedo and long evening dresses, attending events such as international political Galla, the bar is smart casual, with a mix of guest from Texan billionaires to local Thai elite.
Be aware, it is not possible to book a table, not even if you actually stay, at the mandarin oriental hotel! We checked.
Arrive minimum 30-45 min before the life music starts, as soon as the music starts, so does the line outside and it sure doesn’t look, as if standing in 30 degrees and high humidity, is anything anybody want to start off your evening.
Best bar in Bangkok for sure!
Oh and let yourself get BLOWN away, by the HUGE flower displays, in the hotel lobby.

Interesting that the Bamboo Bar still exists. I lived in Bangkok from 66 to 69. In 67 I played Saxophone at the Bamboo Bar.

Bar industry in Bangkok now is very active. They keep rotating managers, bartenders and importing new boozes. Lots of new signature drink menus keep coming out of these bars, please keep coming back like once a year 😄😄

I'm planning a visit to Bangkok and this really is the kind of guide I'm looking for.
The shots of the places and vibe and shots of the drinks are amazing.
I have two weeks to go before my third trip to Bangkok and I can hardly wait. The friends I know in the city don't really go for cocktails so it's going to be an epic solo bar crawl, or two, or three. I was at SRYJBP for about two hours last trip and I was the only guest the entire time. It was definitely not because of the quality of the cocktails. Does anyone have recommendations for Ho Chi Minh City? I have a few Japanese style whisky bars on my list, but more options are always better. Thanks for the quality content. I look forward to more.

Hi! What do you think is the best cocktail bar for real thai cocktails? I would like to try some cocktails who give me the real thai vibes, with like some rum or Thai whisky or Thai spirits.

They're honestly all so good, I wouldn't put it in the video if I didn't recommend, but I think the one that surprised me the most was Sugar Ray and Find the Locker Room, those are definitely more my style of bar. But they're all awesome!

Why are some of Asia's 50 Best Bars listed outside the top 50? I'm sure there's a reason, but it does look silly to be #81 on Asia's 50 Best Bars.
Haha, yeah. They used to do only top 50 but now there’s so many good bars that they started doing an extended 51-100 list. Those bars don’t get the fancy statue or invited to the yearly awards event, but still get the recognition that they deserve
I live in Ari, I am not sure Ari is authentic as it is trying very hard to replicate international styles and there certainly are tourists 😅 But, it is a great spot nonetheless.
Probably no tourists cause I went when Covid restrictions were still pretty intense 😅

I actually don't think this is such a well made video. It's all style over substance. Why go on and on about the amazing chairs in a bar and not even show them? You want them to be a surprise? Lots of viewers will never get there.

Why could you not write the price next to the cocktails. One needs to know price.
Because prices aren't static, exchange rates are different every day. These videos are meant to be searchable for years to come. This video was posted almost 2 years ago, the prices and exchange rates are probably very different from when I filmed it. If I told you a price, it might be a lie and I'd rather not do that. Also, across the board cocktails are very similar priced so posting the same price over and over again feels pointless. And furthermore, I think prices are geared more for reviews and this isn't a review. It's a showcase of talent and to me, the price of a cocktail is irrelevant to the talent on showcase.
@@valianes Jake my friend price in Thai baht would really help. Prices don't escalate every month. Anyway at bangkoks normal skybars the rate with taxes is close to 500 baht. What price are these close to.
