I'm a woman that recently found Jesus and I happen to be switching to a TN for 2024 - this video spoke to me! I find all the little decorative things in other videos overwhelming and too visually busy.
First off congratulations in finding JESUS Sam!!! That's super awesome! I used to tell people, the best decision I've made in my whole life is to know Him, and my greatest regret I had, is to NOT know Him earlier!

I am switching from an A5 disc-bound planner into a TN starting in Sep. I love the undated monthly and weekly inserts for my planner, and I have room for additional inserts for note-taking, list-making, and reference information. I have an assortment of covers from different makers--because TNs are so popular, it is easy to find fun covers made from all different kinds of materials at very affordable prices (although leather covers are my favorite!)

I need something simple. I cant remember anything anymore. I used to do bullet journal but i gave up. Its interesting to see others set up.
Sorry to hear that Jessica... But the beauty of the TN system, is that it's totally customisable. Find a system that works for you. Can make it very simple; doesn't have to be complicated. :)

I do use a TN, I use a “Wanderings” TN for a wallet with a billet journal and it also holds my Hobo Weeks. And I subbed, I look forward to more of your videos.

Traveler's notebooks are flexible. You can customize it the way you want to.
Right on Sophia!!! One of the main reasons it's so attractive to journalers!

Edit: not in a TN yet. I hold my various books in a leather a5. My system holds 2 vertical notepads, which I appreciate because the page is staring me in the face as soon as I open it lol. I a, researching because I’m considering using a passport tn as a wallet, but now you’ve got me really considering a regular size as well!

Thanks for this. Very nice channel. I have a travelers co TN in black with multiple fills but have not used it yet. I actually have a Lochby with 5 notebooks that I use everyday that kind of took its place. I’m in sales so I use one for projects, one for meetings, one for learning, one is a campus co. 2024 planner and last a notebook for use as a scratch pad and general notes. I gotta find a way to use the TN. Maybe for sketching? God bless !!!!

Fascinatingly efficient setup, idk if ive already told you (so please forgive me if i have) but i find my notebook wallet to be sufficient for my notetaking needs so far, im happy you found what works for you & how thats growing you towards our Lord!
What do you do with the leftover paper you cut short to fit TN notebooks? Do you use them as scrap paper in the back too or throw them away? Just curious.

For the leftover papers i would still use them to write as scrap paper, before recycling them, so none go to waste!

Love seeing other guys using TNs! Do you feel that it’s a bit of a waste to cut notebooks (like the campus ones) in half or so?
I have a handmade one in B6 size, so I normally get inserts from smaller online shops. Thinking about making my own inserts someday though.
It’s amazing to have my journal, habit tracker, sketchbook, etc all in one cover- that’s what I love about TN systems.
It will really depends on what you do with the cut offs.
I used it to doodle and sometimes to write, or give away. It’s true it can be quite a waste, but unfortunately at the moment I can’t find cheap fountain pen friendly TN size notebooks.
Marking your own inserts will be great!
Do you need lined inserts or just plain ones will do?
Plain paper inserts should be easier to work with :)

If there's a Muji where you live, try their some of their b6 notebooks. They're slightly smaller than regular size TN, but they fit

I just dropped by recently, sad to say, they removed quite a chunk of their notebook line. At the moment, they are selling the B5 size notebooks, and the loose-leaf sizes. The rest of the line, are gone :(

It’s so easy to make your own from a4 paper turned horizontal/landscape is the exact height. I just fold in half and tear the edges down once the book is made using a ruler. I use Rhodia as it’s good for fountain pens. There’s a ton of tutorials for using pamphlet stitch to sew the binding. It’s very easy.

I think for an A4 to A5 conversion (if it's a blank sheet page) is more "economical" in a sense.

To samo może Filofax, ale jest jakiś taki zbyt formalny, korporacyjny 📈
I agree, lots of TN videos are more of a lady perspective :)
For longer notes, maybe you can try a bigger TN, like an A5 sized TN instead :)

How did you remove the doohickey at the top of the spine? The one on mine put a huge scratch on my antique desk.
The Tin Clasp?
You can cut the elastic, to remove the tin clasp, and redo the elastic again. But typically, you may need to change out the whole elastic, with a new one, as the old one can be a tad too short to tie properly.

What cover brand is the blue/deep teal one? Is it from the Traveler's Company or from elsewhere? I love that color and for once I like the aged look on it. It looks gorgeous, and I don't care for scratched leather etc. But it looks great on that one!

The leather is a bit thinner than that of the Traveler's Company, but its still quite good in my opinion!

How does this differ from a personal organiser? These seem to be very similar (customisable etc).
I think the core difference is the fact that you can swap out different kind of notebooks in /out of your TN.
And it can be used for different purposes. Some used it as a wallet, scrapbook, diary, sketchbook etc.
It's much more customisable and more personal and more versatile compared to a "traditional orgainzer."

Yes, that's the Camel of the Traveler's Company.
It took about 2-3 years to get to that Patina. Lots of moisturising from the oils from my hand. :)
I actually started writing because I wanted to share my faith in a more-personal way as opposed to tracts. I've had to gain a lot more understanding of my own faith in doing so too; I'm now a Hebrew Christian. The millennial reign of Christ (and all other descriptions of the new covenant in the Old Testament) did not agree with the predominate views on new covenant and New Testament interpretations.
Christ rules according to the Law of Moses, because if the Old Testament saints could have been saved by things like following the Law and animal sacrifice, they never would have needed a Savior, and Christ would be irrelevant. All who have ever been saved have been saved by grace, therefore it is NOT an offense to the cross to follow God's commandments as given through Moses.

This is a good review but I do think it is a little silly to call it guys perspective when it's just a journal lol. I don't think there's much difference between how men and women take notes or carry stuff around. Overall though good look at the notebook
LOL, true! I do think that women tend to gravitate towards more artsy stuff in their TNs: washy tape, stickers, the little bling bling doodads! :)

The way guys explain it is COMPLETELY different and I’ve found I literally understand it better.
Men and women operate very differently and thus use these differently.
Women make beautiful art projects of them that hold sentimentality and catalog important information.
Men are often more practical, logical, and calculated. They’re systems are often straight to the point and efficient-speaking to me more, as a man.
I definitely admire and enjoy both, but there is a big difference
