In my opinion, sending Clock information from RC-202, not to it, is better, since you can change sounds without messing the speed while selecting different patches.

Doesn't the 202 have a rhythm button or something that will actually trigger the sequencer play button..so you wouldn't have to loop the sequencer at all just push play and save loo space

Good point on the FX routing. FX post looper would be a semi fix

the 202 has effects built into it, pre-and post. and I agree that it's better used as a clock source

This was my #1 most important question : can you sync bpm's with other devices using Midi (?)
I've literally been searching and scouring, even posting this question with no one talking about connecting the 202 to Midi.
Thanks for making this informative video 👍
Helps towards my decision to acquire one for my live setup!

Not sure if this is the same fix, but I sorted the whole rc202 start stop situation being controlled by my microkorg by pressing (on the rc202); setup>filter(midi)>value button 3 times>turn OnO to OFF. Job done, rc202 still gets clock data but doesn't get any control data from my microkorg

On my rc505 I make a blank loop by pressing Loop Stop and Loop pad, after setting that loop to a number of measures. Then when you record to that loop the aftertouch/fx tails blend in with the end/start of the loop (set it to Overdub).

    • @YukiTheSynthDragon
      @YukiTheSynthDragon  Před 4 lety +1

I have done this as well, sometimes I do not like the overlap in fx tails but sometimes it works really well. Works super well with pads though.

Could you explain what you mean. I just got a 505. How do you do the above ? I noticed that with my korg micrKorg which doesn't have a sustain pedal the sound just stops. Thanks so much

others recommend using the 202 as master with MIDI. Wouldn't that fix your patch tempo change issue? I just send mine to keystep then that clocks both other MIDI synths and CV. I've only just starting out atm though hence why I'm here.

Try to sync the RC202 with my Digitakt, but it doesnt work at all. Done all the required settings, but if I check the tempo on the 202 there aint no midi, just the regular tempo that has been there before. Doesnt sync at all. Can you tell me what is wrong??

  • @AtomIntention

I’m wanting to buy a looper that will sync with my synths and drum machine
I’m just confused a bit as to how the perfect synced start and stop works
I use to have an fx pedal with a built in looper and drum loops and when you hit the button it started a countdown to the next measure and then you just select the amount of measures
Now I’m ready to buy a good looper and I was hoping I could find a way better version of what I use to have but I can’t find anything that has a perfect start stop, but I’ve noticed that a lot of loopers do have midi out and in and it talks about syncing in the description, but no one ever says exactly how the perfect start stop works

Just got an rc202 for my synth and was wondering if you ever get a lot of noise on patches that have not much going on like a bass patch with a mostly closed filter. Just wondering as this unit i got is brand new and am worried it’s faulty

@@YukiTheSynthDragon Thanks again for the suggestion...i use the MIDI in on the JDXI for a Roland A-49 so im not stuck with little keys....a main advantage to that i dont see many mention also, is that way u can operate 2 separate patches at once, both with their own cutoff an frequency tweaks...would be a good selling point....like u can be playing channel 1 on the full size keyboard while the jdxi itself can be set to play its 2nd,3rd or 4th channel...guessing the JDXA is the same.

  • @WildernessMusic_GentleSerene

Just doesn't make sense to me to run an analog or digital synth through all the digital audio conversions when a MIDI looper can do exactly the same thing and preserve the sound for the recording.
