  • Introducing Episode 1 of “High Plains Drifter,” a new video series documenting my adventures throughout North America’s southwest deserts & Great Basin plateaus in search of ancient graffiti and more. Hidden in this remote desert wash in New Mexico called Crow Canyon are the rock carvings of ancestral Pueblo & Anasazi artists that depict various gods & deities using anamorphic symbolism, as well archaic events in nature, humanity, and the every day. What I find most remarkable is how these pictographic murals share anomalous similarities to repeated graphic & mythical representations found in many other pre-historic world cultures, a theory on ancient art which I will be pursing throughout this series. As America dissolves into its next iteration I’m inspired to find out for myself more about our ancient past and all that was so that we may be better informed about our future in the midst of these extreme times.

    I appreciate your take on the world because it encompass a lifetime’s worth of reading and investigating and then critically thinking and filling in some of the gaps that modern educators can’t or won’t disclose. Now more than ever we have to be able to tie all the loose ends that pertain to our human existence here in this earth and and only a healthy river of knowledge and questioning can assist us in doing so. Thank you for helping others think critically and outside of the box.

      I don't care who's doing what, I just love the earth, I'm an artist, I hate to see rickety machines in pristine nature, I guess that's just life

    Lost me at the opening... there is a need for energy, unless you walk everywhere, make your own clothing and heat your home with wood or coal, you need energy companies to make that fuel available to you... I'm sure you drove or flew or a little of both to get to the location in this vid. Then you said... "I think they've been stealing the weather..." Time to grow up.

      Your perspective is coming from some old dogma, you don't need to ruin nature in such beautiful, pristine places in order to produce energy. There are plenty of alternatives that our government has kept secret. And yes, being an American is a conflict of many hypocritical situations, but as a human being it's important to continue to contribute to your consciousness and your soul in order to evolve your relationship with life.

    • @MearOneHD
      @MearOneHD  Před 7 měsíci

      There is a mix of ages taking place here, and I addressed that I believed the main panel was not older than 500 years. But yes, there are much older petroglyphs all around this area that I photographed. I believe there are petroglyphs across the southwest starting around 500 AD going back 12,000 years, I will be bringing my documentation of these sites to light in future episodes.

      @MearOneHD The simplist form of dating is contrast. It's not perfect, but usually the sharper they are the more recent. The oldest petroglyphs have almost the same patina as the original rock face. Plus, any depicting horses are thought to be in the past 400 years. Since horses came to America when the Spaniards came.

    DON'T REVEAL LOCATIONS!!!
    Now that you've identified the location, modern graffiti artists will come in.
    And they will come with more than a Dodge Minivan.
    If you are truly a steward (as you say near the end) then please, don't reveal the locations.

      Thanks. As an old school archaeo-dude, I get my panties twisted in a knit sometimes. Keep doing the good work! 👍
      You're doing more to inspire (with the reach of your channel) than I ever did. You're inspiring ME to break out my daypack and hike some more in the terrain of my Secret Remote Mountain Location. And documenting what I find for the first nations (always them first!) and then the local university.
      Be Excellent (to each other).
