Yup, Soyeon wrote every song here, except Popstars. Minnie and Yuqi have written a number of B-Sides, and since their return from hiatus in 2022... their last three albums have had Soyeon, Yuqi, and Minnie each writing 2+ songs each album. As you alluded to in your outro, Idle has great appeal in that their personalities and feelings are apparent in their music. It feels very real when they put out songs.
CUBE Entertainment is known for their "relaxed" approach to artist creative expression. In reality, this is partly because their management is a complete shit show. IDLE would not have debuted at all or would have been badly delayed because these guys just didn't have a song ready. Soyeon stepped up and made LATATA. CUBE's hands off (or inability to hold on) approach worked out well because of her. But they have managed other artists into the ground and drove them away. IDLE could have been tanked by the Soojin incident if not, again, for Soyeon and the member's efforts on their own behalf. Because of this a lot of people have these fantasies about them not renewing contracts and leaving to found their own label under Soyeon and even bring Soojin back like a drama script. In reality they are CUBE's chief revenue source and have fantastic leverage in renegotiating their contracts. There is no reason to sacrifice the resources of an established company when the power is in your hands to demand pretty much anything.
Man I'm glad they did this dingo. Idle is one of those groups that I absolutely love but somehow forget about in between comebacks. But when I'm reminded of them, they're legit Top 3 fav groups.
