Hehe it's so interesting to see someone that has absolutey no experience with (G)I-dle see this Killing Voice. Soyeon (the one in the middle) is properly one of the most talented idols of the last decade. Not only is she probably the best female rapper in the industry in the moment, she is also a very good singer and dancer and has produced and written ALL of these songs except Popstars. 2022 was their year with two absolute smash hits with Tomboy and Nxde. What makes them so good and interesting as you already noted is the multitude of different voice tones they have and the types of content they tackle. There isnt a topic that is too hot to handle for (G)I-dle, constantly empowering women and telling uncomfortable truths.
Soyeon also came up with their group logo herself with the English letter “I” with the Korean word for “dle” laid down next to it. So it means a group of different individuals coming together. the company created the (g) to their name that the members didn't know why they added the “(G)” but it is presumed it was because they were a rookie group that wasn’t known and they wanted the group to pop up in the search engine instead of children when searched
I remember reading during their previous comeback that their group name had an effect (maybe intentional) where searching for children nxde would have the song pop up instead of other unsavory results. They were filtering the results and in the lyrics taunting and insulting those that came across it. I’m not sure if that’s actually how it would play out but it’s an interesting notion at the very least

Shuhua(the one in the yellow dress) is not best according to vocals, BUT she has amazing stage presence!! She's amazing with expression, and you can really sense her confidence. Pop/Stars is not actually G-idle song. It's a game company (league of legend, riot game) that want to promote the game by making music. So the company call singers from american and korean to sing the 'pop/stars' by a make up kpop group called K/DA. From american they have Madison Beer and Jaira Burns, from korean they have the middle girl (soyeon) and the white outfit girl (second girl name miyeon). It's such a good song, it topped billboard number 1 (lol i know that's crazy 😆). Pop/stars mv now it have 500+ million views on youtube. Pop/stars have live performance too with real human and augment reality (some kind of AI). And many people became G-idle fans because of pop/stars. Oh and the game company make album too for K/DA. I know they are considered a 4th gen group - but they have never felt that way to me. I think they fall between 3rd & 4th. I had the pleasure to see them live in Chicago... phenomenal show. great charisma and so much personality. They refuse to be classified - and their vocal colors are so incredibly diverse. The two on the right are definitely the more exuberant (Shuhua, the one you described as 'not edgy', has so much personality). and Yuqi (green top) has one of my favorite voices in music - such a rich lower register.

Actually, G(IDLE) was originally a six members girl group, but they lost one of the members (Soojin) because she was in a bullying scandal, she was kicked out before she was found innocent, the members tried to protect her but the company seemed to really don't care, they didn't even tried to deffend her properly. So they spent more than one year in hiatus (a very dark and sad year for GIDLE and neverlands) and came back as 5 members with tomboy, in which they putted A LOT OF EFFORDS and became one of the biggest hits of 2022, they rose up to one of most noticed and anticipated 4th generation girl groups. Ps: Although the members stepped up and worked all out, neverlands still miss Soojin a lot, she was a really amazing artist, hope she is doing well. It is really hard to remember how she was wronged and had her dream taken away like that

You are on point. Different fandoms have different level of protectiveness. It is especially difficult if you are trying to be honest. It will be so much easier if I jumped up and down and acted like I loved everything. However, This group was very special. I had preconception from their image but as I learned more about them, I respected them more and more. This is only team where I put in a lot of time doing English translations for their songs. And it was worth it. ^^ So much more depth than I ever imagined. And also, this fandom is not very scary. Very nice actually. BTW, I am being totally honest. LOL

Hehe it's so interesting to see someone that has absolutey no experience with (G)I-dle see this Killing Voice. Soyeon (the one in the middle) is properly one of the most talented idols of the last decade. Not only is she probably the best female rapper in the industry in the moment, she is also a very good singer and dancer and has produced and written ALL of these songs except Popstars. 2022 was their year with two absolute smash hits with Tomboy and Nxde.
What makes them so good and interesting as you already noted is the multitude of different voice tones they have and the types of content they tackle. There isnt a topic that is too hot to handle for (G)I-dle, constantly empowering women and telling uncomfortable truths.
Soyeon also came up with their group logo herself with the English letter “I” with the Korean word for “dle” laid down next to it. So it means a group of different individuals coming together. the company created the (g) to their name that the members didn't know why they added the “(G)” but it is presumed it was because they were a rookie group that wasn’t known and they wanted the group to pop up in the search engine instead of children when searched
😆 That makes so much sense though. Google showing bunch of kids would not have been good.
I remember reading during their previous comeback that their group name had an effect (maybe intentional) where searching for children nxde would have the song pop up instead of other unsavory results.
They were filtering the results and in the lyrics taunting and insulting those that came across it. I’m not sure if that’s actually how it would play out but it’s an interesting notion at the very least

Soyeon was on a makeover webshow earlier that day. Her eye makeup is from that show. She almost removed it because she didn't want to clash with the other members who agreed to appear with minimal makeup for this show.

You pointed out Soyeon's makeup. She actually was on a show earlier that day and had her makeup done as a part of the show. Soyeon, the one in the middle, wrote the lyrics to every song you heard except Pop/Stars which was originally a song by Riot (League of Legends) which had put together a group called KDA which only Soyeon and Miyeon originally were a part of.
The my bag song is written by soyeon for her members. Each line of each member is her pov on how she sees them. So those lines sang by the members is actually soyeon describing thrm. That is why my bag is the song soyeon dedicated for her members for the fans and new fsns to know their individual colors

Shuhua(the one in the yellow dress) is not best according to vocals, BUT she has amazing stage presence!! She's amazing with expression, and you can really sense her confidence. The girls are really different, but that's honestly what i LOVEEE about gidle, and I agree that Soyeon is very charismatic!!!!
thank you! really enjoyed your commentary. idle music, the production, arrangements, and concepts are diverse as their voices are. it's funny, when they were trainees, Soyeon refused vocal training courses for the members and insisted to allow everyone to shine with their own vocal colors instead of fitting the kpop "meta" vocal style. i love her so much for that.

Pop/Stars is not actually G-idle song. It's a game company (league of legend, riot game) that want to promote the game by making music. So the company call singers from american and korean to sing the 'pop/stars' by a make up kpop group called K/DA. From american they have Madison Beer and Jaira Burns, from korean they have the middle girl (soyeon) and the white outfit girl (second girl name miyeon). It's such a good song, it topped billboard number 1 (lol i know that's crazy 😆). Pop/stars mv now it have 500+ million views on youtube. Pop/stars have live performance too with real human and augment reality (some kind of AI). And many people became G-idle fans because of pop/stars. Oh and the game company make album too for K/DA. I know they are considered a 4th gen group - but they have never felt that way to me. I think they fall between 3rd & 4th. I had the pleasure to see them live in Chicago... phenomenal show. great charisma and so much personality. They refuse to be classified - and their vocal colors are so incredibly diverse. The two on the right are definitely the more exuberant (Shuhua, the one you described as 'not edgy', has so much personality). and Yuqi (green top) has one of my favorite voices in music - such a rich lower register.

The girl with the eye makeup in the center is Soyeon and yes she is the leader and producer of the group. Since I am also kind of new to this group, all I know is the left most member with black pants is Thai, the right most is Taiwanese as I remember and the one in green top next to the right corner idol is Chinese.
I like them for one of the same reasons I like Seventeen, because I think they are the only girl Kpop group who are self producing, I might be wrong, there might be some other group I might yet have to know.

Actually, G(IDLE) was originally a six members girl group, but they lost one of the members (Soojin) because she was in a bullying scandal, she was kicked out before she was found innocent, the members tried to protect her but the company seemed to really don't care, they didn't even tried to deffend her properly. So they spent more than one year in hiatus (a very dark and sad year for GIDLE and neverlands) and came back as 5 members with tomboy, in which they putted A LOT OF EFFORDS and became one of the biggest hits of 2022, they rose up to one of most noticed and anticipated 4th generation girl groups.
Ps: Although the members stepped up and worked all out, neverlands still miss Soojin a lot, she was a really amazing artist, hope she is doing well. It is really hard to remember how she was wronged and had her dream taken away like that

You are on point. Different fandoms have different level of protectiveness. It is especially difficult if you are trying to be honest. It will be so much easier if I jumped up and down and acted like I loved everything. However, This group was very special. I had preconception from their image but as I learned more about them, I respected them more and more. This is only team where I put in a lot of time doing English translations for their songs. And it was worth it. ^^ So much more depth than I ever imagined. And also, this fandom is not very scary. Very nice actually. BTW, I am being totally honest. LOL
