I have never seen it, but I have talked to a couple of cavers from that area that say there is enough room to stand up inside of the geode. I wonder if there is any possibility for some very little crystals alike to these of Pulpí to be sold. In the roman empire they use selenite gypsum rock (lapis specularis) as glass for the windows, etc... of the houses and buildings. Evidently it can't substitute glass but it's an interesting material and I'd like to know if there's any place in the world where I can find this material, where it is being sold in small quantities. It would be interesting to use a little of this material in very small quantities along with the other traditional materials usually used.

    • @RavinRay
      @RavinRay Před 2 lety +1

      A cave is formed from the hollowing out of pre-existing rock via weathering and erosion, with crystals like stalaCtites (from the Ceiling) and stalaGmites (from the Ground) growing later. A geode starts from a hollow, usually rounded space that is formed from, say gas bubbles in igneous or sedimentary rocks as they harden; these vesicles or air pockets are then filled with crystals deposited on the inner wall growing inwards by mineral saturated water seeping into the hollow from cracks and fissures. Hope I explained it clearly for you.
