Cool tires and great price. Good video too. Maybe o ring chain robs a 1/8 hp or less? I'd venture to say you get a few more miles with a non o ring is the biggest difference.
Non-O-Ring chain has less drag, so you'll get slightly more range with it. About 0.5 to 1 mile more. I measured the power consumption spinning the tires at full speed with the wheels up in the air and then compared two chains. There was more power consumed with the O-ring chain, which makes sense since it is stiffer.
grew up racing go karts my entire life. I used to switch to a non oring chain for qualifying only bc it saved a thenth of a second a lap on around 1.2 mile road course. RPM limit definately would be great if you had a KO Nano controller to let it rev.

I have a MX3 and recently got the sumo wheels on sale for $400 from GritShift. (They drop shipped from E-BikeZilla.) Very nice handling and QUIET on the road.
Going from factory 19" wheels and tires with stock 44T sprocket, I found the supplied chain to be a little short for a direct swap out. It worked but I had to adjust the axle forward quite a bit which makes swapping wheels take a fair bit longer.
I think I'll get a non-o-ring chain and size it for the sumo set with a short section to add to adjust it for the off road sprocket. Or maybe just a second chain sized to be as close as possible to the axle position.
I'm not expecting the non-o-ring chain to be faster but maybe more efficient and possibly resulting in a little longer range. (There's a reason bicycles use a non-o-ring chain.) Though, realistically there are probably other factors, such as terrain, that outweigh the potential difference.

I have about 300 miles on my Sting R. Lots of single tracks. My biggest complaint with this bike by far is the front suspension. I have it turned all the way soft and these still feel like garbage. Anyway I can soften then anymore than just spinning the knobs on top?
Did you have to swap out the brake disk like ebikezilla says? If so which one did you use?
What is the seat height with the 17" moto wheels on?
Would love to see u put a back 4000 or 8000 on it then test top speed

Talaria Boys, the obligatory question is, dirt wheels/tires/chain removal to Super Moto Wheelset/tires/chain install--regarding time? I love the price for the road (Super Moto) set up but I am concerned about switching back and forth. Thanks.
Really depends on how fast you are but the front takes like 1 minute and the back maybe takes 3-4.

Yea it barely works. If I was going to keep these wheels on for a long time I would look into an adjustable kickstand.

Hey guys, great videos. What are your thoughts on the Pirelli MT60 90/90/-19 front and rear for dual sport tires?
We haven’t tried them so can’t give a great recommendation on whether they are good or not sorry.

Is it easy to swap the discs? It doesnt come with the bigger discs on the sting r, i didnt see that in the video
Easy to swap, we explained in the video that the wheels come with 200 but that we switched them to 220. It’s very easy to change them.

my mx4 is coming in the mail but i’m still confused on the bottom line whether this things are cool being on the road with traffic or should this thing technically be only used on “sidewalks and bike lanes” what’s your guy’s experience with cops etc
Definitely do not ride on the sidewalk. You’ll get in trouble for that, as for the street they are not technically street legal so you can do what every you think.
So which sprocket, chain length, and rotor size would I use for this set up?
It comes with a 40t sprocket but we tried a 48t and really liked it. It doesn’t go as fast but has more torque for wheelies. It should be a 108 length chain for a 48 tooth sprocket. We used the stock 220 rotors from our sting r.
Do you need this street wheel 'kit'? Or can you just buy the street tires and swap them?
These are 17 inch wheels, you could potentially find street tires to fit on the stock 19 inch wheels but usually smaller sizes are easier to find.
Are there larger supermoto tire options? I hate the look of them small
Not really but you can add street style tires to most wheels

Hey! Glad you like the videos! We really do just recommend getting the mx4. It gets you the most for what you pay for. There’s also huge Facebook groups to help with any questions you have.

Ya man thanks for following the channel, there really are a lot of die hard Surron fanboys out there but what we’ve realized is very few of them have tried any other bikes to be able to compare, we have ridden so many kinds now and thoroughly tested them and each time we go back to the Sting R Mx4 as our go to and best bang for the buck.

What’s the correct PSI for these tires? Just got mine today and putting them at 32 but wanna make sure it’s the correct number
You could ride anywhere from 25-40 psi honestly depending on how hard you want them to be or how heavy you are as a rider.
O-ring chains are for pavement, non O-ring chains are for dirt. O-rings helps keeps the lube in and dirt out but gets destroyed ridden in dirt.

That is actually a custom kit that we designed so they don’t sell it.

The front wheel will but the rear is a different hub spacing

No but it only barely worked
What kickstand can I use with the Supermotos??
Luna cycle sells an adjustable kickstand or warp 9 does. You would have to check if the warp 9 works with the stock kickstand mount.

How do I take my region off on my talaria I'm a talaria sting
On the display there is the up and down arrow buttons, click it down until the little number in the bottom of the screen says 1 and that will be all the way off.
Why are the super motto wheels smaller? Standard wheels are 19” but these are 17”, please explain thank you
Often times super moto are either 17,16,or even 12 inch because they are more playful and have bigger wider tires. Not really sure why other than those reasons.

It would be easier to do wheelies with the 44 tooth & with the non oring chain theres less rolling resistance,…also use a 70 rear tire same as front to save weight !!!

I already bought my non o ring chain thinking it would add 3-4 mph according to a lot of people… but you guys are saying it is hitting an RPM limit? What exactly is this rpm limit? And is there a way to remove it?
The stock Talaria controller has a motor rpm limit built in to it, basically this means the controller will only let the motor spin a certain speed, this is why when you put a bigger sprocket on the back the motor actually spins the same speed but your top speed is lower because of the gearing. Once you install an aftermarket controller your rpm limit is removed and you can go much faster with any size sprocket.
The only way to remove the rpm limit is to upgrade to an aftermarket controller.
@@Talariaboys oh ok… thanks for the reply, but when I watched your KO controller video testing different sprockets the TopSpeed with the Keio controller on the stock 44 tooth sprocket was the exact same as the stock controller so I don’t see how the aftermarket controller gets rid of the rpm limit… my talaria sting r is on the way and I’m so exited and you guys have game a lot of helpful information… keep up the great work!

Hey there why don't you guy's wear gloves i always see your videos and you guys are never wearing gloves you ever go down your going to wish you had them on. I never ride without them never. Kids watch your videos and your not sending the right message to them with riding protection.
We actually almost always wear gloves, you must not be watching all our videos. It’s very rare we don’t and when we are going on a real ride we always do.
