  • One of the most requested video ideas from across our social media here at Carmel Fire involves seeing our trucks / response videos.. So ride along our trucks from station 41 for a 24 hour shift (footage taken in June). We put a gopro camera on our Medic, Engine, and Ladder from station 41. Anytime they went out, we hit record! Addresses, call types, scenes, and other things have been omitted for privacy.

      CFD, did IFD help train your initial tiller-operators? IFD had two tillers until they replaced the 31 Truck with a straight stick. 7s took delivery just a few years ago on a new tiller.

    Excusez moi je parle français seulement. J'admire beaucoup la précision des pompiers qui conduisent ses énormes camions à incendie comme se camions avec remorque articulé. Ici à Sherbrooke QC Canada le plus gros camion à incendie mesure 45' de long et il est muni d'une échelle pouvant atteindre la hauteur d'un édifice de 30 étages. Cela fait près de 30 ans que les pompiers de Sherbrooke QC Canada utilise se camion même si la ville de Sherbrooke en achète des nouveaux camions à incendie a tous les 5 années. La ville de Sherbrooke QC Canada compte 125 000 citoyens environ.

      they probably run more calls than the large stations over here. In the city where I usedto live the professional fire department operated a station with 47 truck bays. Well, it got too small over the years, currently they build the new station with 55 truck bays. BUt they only run an average of 5 to 6 calls in a 24 hour shift

    Was this a busy day for you all, or do you all normally average around 11 runs per day from station 41?

    • @CarmelFireDepartment
      @CarmelFireDepartment  Před 6 lety +3

      Acutally this was an average to slower day for station 41. Keep in mind this was for all station 41 trucks. A more typical day would be the trucks combined going out 18-20 times. (Medic, Engine, Ladder, Battalion)

    • @ArmEConDoesMinecraft
      @ArmEConDoesMinecraft Před 6 lety

      Carmel Fire Department wow! That is quite a lot of calls. May I ask how many calls your other stations would typically get in a day?

    • @CarmelFireDepartment
      @CarmelFireDepartment  Před 6 lety +1

      As with any fire station, some days the trucks only move a handful of times, and other days they are hardly even at the station out on runs. If we were to break it down, combining all the trucks at the station, here are the number of times they go out on a typical day.
      Station 42, single engine: 5-7
      station 43, single engine: 4-6
      station 44, engine, medic: 8-10
      station 45, engine, medic: 14-16
      station 46, engine, medic: 12-14
      And then in addition to emergency calls, these same trucks are out doing inspections, training, public details, school safety talks, community events... etc. That is NOT factored into the "calls per day".

    Best not travel into that county without a "29" on your license plate. Immediate traffic stop.
