What else should we react to???
Hey, #Korbin Singh..... #Asuran is now available on prime videos. It's ok if we will get it's review after 2 years. No problem. 😂Just informing. 😍😉
Puriya dhanashree raag is the raag of dusk...listen it in the evening...
A classical marathi musical movie. Katyar kaljat ghusli
please react on the song name, tu ladki no1 h, film named ,loha
OUR STUPID REACTIONS just add pandit before his name out of respect.
What he sang here is called khayal. Khayal literally means imagination. Basically, within the grammatical boundaries of the raag (puriya dhanashree here), you can get as creative as you want. All this is improvised singing. Of course, taala (rhythm) is the other part of the grammar that the singer must maintain. In this case it seems it is taal jhaptaal (cycle of 10 beats). This is gold. One of the many many difficult raags to sing.
Kareemnaam Tero - The khayal is without doubt, an instrument of unbridled joy, an experience that transcends into the spiritual, the metaphysical, and beyond.. sad to see the decadence in modern musicianship
@@sachinlotankar1637 if there's ever a time when I feel connected to God, it is only while listening to or singing khayal. Vilambit to be specific. I don't think I've experienced anything more spiritual than khayal.
@@kareemnaamtero8453 yup.. couldn't agree more. I guess the duration of the Khayal lends itself to the experience. Getting transported into those realms is one thing, but staying there demands an extended period to appreciate the nuances of the journey.
Khayal would literally mean 'thought'
@@rineeshparai1780 agreed, but thought is very similar to imagination, is it not? Also, i think they were trying to also bring in the creative aspect that is Central and indispensable to Hindustani classical. But yes, the use of the word "literally" could lead to this argument. :)
Bharat Ratna Pandit Bhimsen Joshi.. he got highest civilian award in India. Legendary marathi, kanada classical singer. thanks for listening to him. 🙏🙏🙏
Its kannada, and he is basically from Gadag, Karnataka..

"He was never out of tune!" Ofcourse not! He was not! He is a master!
Exactly, he isn't a Bharatratna for no reason.
There is a legend about him. Once during his learning, he hit a wrong note, and at that moment his teacher/guru threw a sharp edged utensil piece that hit him near his eye. He later used to say that, he always thinks that utensil will hit him again if he getd out of tune.
At this level, point of singing off tune is ridiculous
@@rahuldhere4093 yeah it is actually hard for him to be out of tune even if he intends to do so..his level is just too high.
He was my dad's favorite classical singer. Grew up watching him perform, tapes. 😍🥰 I used to call him bheemsen uncle as a kid..Hahahaha🤣 love him.
I used to call him "Aajoba"! The grandfather of classical musicians.
awww,.thats so sweet
@ratna hi,
Till I was 35, I was calling him Bhimsen. भिमसेन गातो आहे. आरे तुरे.....as if he is someone I talk daily. Played records continuously.
Then, as I became older, started calling Bhinsenji.😄
I am not kidding. Same with Lata.
🙏🙏🙏🙏
He used to perform as if he was possessed... We haven't heard Tansen but we are lucky to hear this old recordings of Panditji🙏
He dint care about the his bodily projection and gestures. He was so deep into the meditative state while singing.
yes.....he sang as if he was truly possessed... wizard of vocal music.
😂😂😂 Tansen...like if its possible for us..we could only hear the names of those mystics.
Yes, definitely 🙏🙏🙏❤️
Possessed is not the right word. I would say he went into a meditative state through his music.
For people who might find the singer amusing -
1. He is one of *the most respected* pandit(master) of indian classical music.
2. Why? - becoz he mastered the art from many different Gurus. This is unusual. Traditionally, a disciple is learns at the feet of 1 Guru for his entire life and the eventually becomes a Guru himself.
3. It is said that Pt. Bhimsen ji did not have a natural sense of music(for eg. some people like music but they cannot understand things like rhythm or notes). But he loved the art form. So, he left home at the age of 9. And went to numerous Gurus to learn. And then he not only mastered the art form but became one of the greatest masters of the time. So much so that even the then masters would respect him at another level.
It might seem lil uncomfortable to look at his performance for some people but his singing is what he is know for.
Also, indian classical music is a treat to ears and esp. the soul, not to the eyes.
RIP Pandit ji 🙏
Well said 👌🙏
Wonder who are these people who thought he did not have natural sense of music! His musical sense was indeed very deep. He was a musician and not a musicologist. Yet he carried out great deal of experimentation to make his art vibrant and alive.
@@Gunahegde a lot of classical musician did actually. And they refused to teach him. But this is truly a great example of sadhana, that he truly grasped the soul of the swara and made it his own. In history we read about ghagge khudabaksh of Agra gharana with a similar story. This should be a lesson to all music students. Music demands absolute devotion and even though it may not sound good in the beginning one must stick with it.
@@asamvav Yes he was rejected as a shishya by few but not necessarily because he did not possess natural flair for music.
not agree with all respect to what you wrote about the panditji ...pandit ji was treat to ears as well as for eyes...look at the man who has immersed himself in his art while performing...its his honesty to his art form and to the audience as well...how can you make audience feel if you are not feeling it to the core?
He is Pandit Bhimsen Joshi ji.

At the age of 11, Pt. Bhimsen Joshi, ran away from his home in Dharwad to Bijapur by train in search of a guru. He has been awarded the highest civilian award, The Bharat Ratna. A great classical vocalist and music legend. Respect.
In India, music is treated one of the many road to reach Moksha and peace of mind.
That's bcz they used to sing for god, not for people....
Yea
@@bsangeetha8889 not only for god....through this sadhana ,it's will lead to a state which will transform your art to some thing which is just like an offering by themselves to the supreme self...
@@Solosational No one see there are many ways to get liberation, nd singing for God was one of the main thing to do... Even dancing... All classical dances have songs of God.... Bcz they depict the pastimes of Lord or dedicate it to God...

In the ocean of reaction channels on CZcams you guys are those who are only fishing for pearls! I am really proud of you guys and love you guys coz there are millions of channels on CZcams who are reacting to Indian content but you guys are the only ones who pick their stuff carefully, understand it and appreciate it too. I agree to Rick that this kind of music is totally out of this world and to understand it you must have ears for it. I think that you guys have those ears. That's why I think instead of "our stupid reactions" OSR has another full form...... It's "our sensible reactions". 😛
There is another puniya raag that panditji has sung. That is in his later days when he was kinda old and that version is also mind boggling. He was, is and will be a legend in indian classical music.
Thank you for this. 🙏🙏🙏
Correct!
Second you. There's is the best reaction channel.
Excellent opinion. Also, I fully agree with your suggestion for changing the name of the channel to ' Our Sensible reactions' Well said.
Agreed
I think it's a little difficult for people without any form of classical music background either by listening to it or by learning to understand the depths of this music and react to it one fine day. To a layman, it's easier to get entertained by the speed of ustad zakhir hussain, but only someone who understands this will be blown away even more by what Pt Bhimsen Joshi just did. Not saying one is better than the other but just reacting to this requires a different appreciation.
He is someone whome no one can judge but he himself. . .
Yup , u r right bro .....🙏
God of Indian classical music 🙏🏽🙏🏽
Feels like Himalayas themselves are singing!

When he started singing i closed my eyes and he takes me to some other dimension , there i wasn't feeling too happy or too sad , it felt like my sadness is leaving my body and positive vibes , energy coming in like waves.
Now m feeling more relaxed, concentrated, and positively happy ,calm and motivated.🙏🙏🙏
Then you should listen his other songs also...very divine...
Dayumm!!!! Pandit ji s one of the greatest Hindustani classical musicians of all time. I study music under his gharana, called the kirana gharana. He's next only to God as far as his virtuosity over music is concerned.

Rick u really know the literal meaning of an art form and you have receptive senses for music.
You must watch Nusrat fateh ali sing. He was the God of Qawwali, a different form of hindustani music specially adapted for sufi songs. He has sung for some Indian movies as well but he was one of the greatest singer of Pakistan. He has given new dimensions to laykaari or taan in hindustani classical music.
EXACTLY MY THOUGHTS! RICK KNOWS THINGS ☺
@@brijeshverma2000 respectfully disagree. He was a really great qawwal singer yes, but not a classical singer in the category that is the subject of this video.
That whisper is due to low quality of that time microphone, even from that distance he is singing in 5th octave in chest voice with that loud.He known exact frequencies of semitones and microtones in between, and on the pitch with impromptu improvation at 300+ BPM .They are 10 level next what is perfect pitch and classical opera in western.
It has nothing to do with the quality of the microphone. It’s called voice modulation.
I had tears when I listened to the voice towards the end. I don't know why. It's surreal.

I had the pleasure of seeing him performing live in Kolkata...legend...
I too had that pleasure, at the Dover Lane all-night concert. He started “Jo bhaje Hari ko sadaa” just as the sun was coming up. Gave me goosebumps.
Of course I had heard him a few times earlier in Delhi and once in Cleveland.
Imagine you are living very near to him. One of my father's friend and bungalow near his in Pune at Prabhat Road area. My family used to visit him at weekends and we heard him singing and doing his Riaz on many occasions. My father told me many times he invited him at his house.

Hey Rick,
Loved your analogy of this song to universe's frequency.
There is actually a belief in hinduism that the sound of universe is OM, which gave birth to entire universe.
And this song actually gives the feeling of the chant of OM as we practice.
Both are equally soothing and relieving.
Nice job figuring it out!!

@ricksegall that was by far the best description of the metaphysical nature of Indian classical music that I've ever heard. Fun fact, I grew up in Pune, India and Bhimsen Joshi's grandson was my classmate. I've had the good fortune to see Bhimsen Joshi live at the Sawai Gandharva festival (I think it was his last time performing there). It was an other-worldly experience.
"He was never out of tune!" Very well put, Rick, considering you are ET to this music i.e. the music is really alien to you. 😂
@arlrmr I didn't get you. Was he out of tune or not?
@@yashasvisharma4442 I just stumbled into your question after a year! Sorry that my joke is not clear. I am Indian. So, of course he is in tune to me. But to us, Bhimsen Joshi is much, much, much more than "in tune." That is why, I thought it was amusing that the "foreigner" could only note *"the most elementary and obvious"* point about our music! All the spiritual content and emotional nuance is "alien" to him. I found that amusing. But he was sincere which is all we can ask.
