Dalton has quickly become my favorite CZcamsr. Definitely underrated. I love how he shows all the bad stuff that he comes across unlike other people who make everything look like roses and cherries. Also love the fact that he involves his family in his shenanigans 😂 it almost feels as if we are right there in the garage with him.
and every one of his resurrections haven't been parked undriven for 25-30 years and start right up...lol
He’s one of us, just a working man sharing hella cool $hit (I’m watched to closely to swear & not get got) it’s stuff all we do in our own “multimillion dollar facility’s” & he’s dang good at it
The Jag did it for me.
Dalton, kevin, Derek, and of course cleeter are absolutely my top 4.
Word
You and Kevin are my only escape these days. Keep up the great work.
Check out “Curious Cars” if you enjoy a whiskey drenched, used car salesman’s evaluation (review) on a classic car. I enjoy his No b/s take on the world today, his knowledge on cars is a bonus
Yep, us anons canceled all the standard entertainment sources. This is great content!

You don’t realize how good Dalton, Kevin and Derek are until you see a channel of someone trying to duplicate what they do. You can be the best shade tree mechanic in the world, but you gotta have PERSONALITY to be successful on CZcams. Rock on Dalton; this old man in Oklahoma appreciates all the sarcasm and self-deprecation.😎👍🏼🍺
Tough call having to sell it. Having father and son matching cars would have been so cool.
She sure does have good bones and is a candidate to have the work you started continued on, giving her many more miles and smiles.
Thank you for the early upload for us.
Neil :-)
That 59 ford is honesty a really nice car, it’s definitely worth taking the time to get it a 100 percent. It’d make someone a really good cruiser, keep up the great work.
Its so nice having membership muahahahaha
It's almost as good as owning a JAAAG!!!!😎

"Kevin's, currently fisting my JAG."😂
Thanks to whoever paid for mine
INDEED IT IS!!!
33:17 The D settings are indicative of the Cruise-o-matic transmission. D1, D2, D3 are drive 1 is the lowest gears, D2 being around town gears, and D3 being highway gears (cruising speeds). There is another (green) "updated" Galaxie 500 in Kansas City listed on Marketplace for $12,000.. Gives you some idea what the car is potentially worth.
Why would anyone drive in any gear other than D3? Is it not fully automatic down to the lowest gear when you select a higher one?
@@auteurfiddler8706 in the 50's automatic transmissions were a new thing. Everyone was making something different, almost every year some brought out a "new" automatic transmission
In the 50s there weren't many highways with high top speeds so the 3rd ratio was a bit too long for around town so you could "manually" adjust ratios on the fly think the floppy paddles on modern minivans for a similar idea today or the sport mode in your Corolla econobox
@@ywe3 They had highways (ie: Route 66) but with the Manual transmission vehicles Up until the late 1970s, most transmissions had three or four forward gear ratios, although five-speed manual transmissions were occasionally used in sports cars such as the 1948 Ferrari 166 Inter and the 1953 Alfa Romeo 1900 Super Sprint. Five-speed transmissions became widespread during the 1980s, as did the use of synchromesh on all forward gears.
Until about 2005 most Automatics still had "gear selector" on the shifter. Most automatics still only had 3 gears with over-drive (4th gear). Although it was rare for people to turn off overdrive.
In D2 the transmission would start off in 2nd gear for winter driving. 1st gear was easy to spin the tires on snow. Take off in second would ease off on the spin. That's what an old timer told me. And I'm no spring chicken at 57..😊
Sometimes I think I’m the only one keeping rock auto in business. Judging by the boxes in your shop I’d say you are also doing your part. 🤣
Most of my friends are around my age and none of them even know what rock auto is. It drives me crazy
@@patheticambush How is that possible?! 🤯
I’ve been buying from them for years
That’s the only place to shop all of the parts houses around here are rip offs unless you I need it that day rock auto is the way to go
Lol I purchase about 98% of my auto parts from rock auto. Always try to tell people to go there.
Pole Barn, PLEASE 🙏 keep the '59, it matches your son's classic car 🚗 AND it looks amazing 😍 🤩. You should cruise it in the yard next to your son driving HIS '59, NOW THAT WOULD BE VERY COOL 😎. Thanks for the video 📸.
Dalton, before you dump this for only five large, go over to Bring A Trailer and check out what some of these classics are going for. You are so close: dashpad, real shocks, bushings, balance tires (lots of YT vids how), alignment, paint correction, and clean up the windows. Maybe exhaust. You could easily double what you want for it and get some good content to boot. If you do those things, I think you could actually get $15K for it.
Dalton. You and JD remind me so much of me and my old man... God rest his soul. Thanks for the great content.
The 59 looks great!! I bet you could get a bubble balancer for the wheels pretty cheap. Spin balancing didn’t come out until the 70s or 80s. All those old cars were balanced on a bubble balancer. Just a thought.
Great episode as always!!
Good idea!
Spin (or dynamic) balancing came out well before the '70s, first invented in 1945. We had a Bear model 330, both static and dynamic balance, in my dad's gas station shop from the time he bought the place in '61 and it was far from new then. The Bear 330 machine was used at the Indy 500 back in the day... Bear provided the front-end alignment and balancing equipment. I knew the guy who was the Bear shop chief at Indy, was an old friend of my dad's from Bear's front-end school.
I love the colour so much. This car in general is a absolutely going to town rig....
I would buy it in a hot second but seeing as I have two other vehicles and no garage it would be a sin to leave it out in the NE Ohio winters. I recently sold a '61 Tbird convertible before leaving AZ and regret it every day. We aren't owners but merely caretakers of moments in time. Thank you for keeping these dreams alive D, JD is lucky to have you for a dad.
I love that car. The late 50’s fords are some of my favorites and that color is perfect for it.
the dash pad in this would be worth getting a pro re trimming given how nice the restt of the car is
Glad to hear you bumped into Richard and Christine from What the Rust. I love the revivals they do and his get her running patented gas feed apparatus is super clever!!
Jess would look badass cruising that car around. I have that Holt bleeder. It can get finicky. Have to barely crack it till you get a loop of solid fluid then crack a little more sometimes.
Let her drive it to see if she needs it, she does not lol. Bought her a mustang instead
Nice! Did you bring the Mustang home in the trunk of the 59? 🤣
If I didn't live with my folks and had more space I'd give you five thousand for it. I actually have a 1969 Chrysler Newport already, that's such a good deal considering how all the chrome and everything is there, you your kid and Jess do a great job with the videos as always, keep up the hustle man!
Dalton is a "Salt of the Earth" dude, you can't ask for more than that. Thanks PBG!
Given the size and color of the car, as well as my tendency to look on the bright side of life, I'd be so tempted to name it the Salmon Moose.
Pretty cool old classic. Thanks for getting the old gal rolling again. Fun n educational videos!
Raise the price! You've got a true collector's car there. Good luck.
Blows me away when you pull really nice vehicles out of that pole barn. But it's way better than what I have to work out of.
@@logicthought24my dad painted cars outside on the patio that turned out perfect, nice calm clear hot day makes all the difference
What a cool car. I wouldn't change a thing on it except fixing the dash. The color is even cool.
As a fellow Midwesterner and bib overalls aficionado I appreciate the fact that you were going formal with the top buttons done up. That is High Falutin Sir!
Definitely need to see more of this car. We need for 59 Ford videos
This old man used to have a 59 Ford when I was much younger. And I loved that car. Same engine and all. Except mine was black. Don't think you'll have any problems getting your asking price for sure. You just keep making your videos. And ill definitely keep watching
That old ferd is epic, cannot believe how well the interior has stood the test.
The D position to the right, starts the trans in 2nd gear, for low traction situations.
That's really a very nice car. That color was a very popular at that time.
Drive 2 should start out in second then go to third unless you floor it, then it'll downshift to first. Drive 1, AKA green dot is the standard 1-2-3 shift pattern. If you want to shift those manually 1-2-3, start off in L, get it past 29 MPH (you need to be HARD into the throttle for this to successfully work), shift to D1 then pull it back down to L and for third you can shift it back up to D1.
The rear leaf spring bushings need replaced. I did them on both of my 64's, it cured both odd leaning to one side or another and going around a corner both cars no longer felt like the back end was going to come around to the front, not to mention better ride and handling.
Great description of how the Ford o matic/ cruise o matic work !!
I have a 62 Thunderbird and that is excatly how I run her!!
@@paulsimonie6937 Coming from a guy who rebuilt one and drives one regularly. I find if I do the manual L to D1 shift it'll often just skip right to third gear if I'm not hard enough on the throttle or going fast enough. I think it's something to do with the transgo shift kit I installed when I rebuilt the transmission because if I held it in L then shifted to D1 it would shift to second then third automatically at lower speeds/throttle before. I find I have to be at least 50% in the throttle for it to not skip to third. It's either that, or the combo of the 2200 RPM stall converter and camshaft vacuum signal I have.
A little info on the transmission, Low is first D with a green dot is second, and Regular D is third. Regular D being closest to Neutral and low being at the very bottom of the shift pattern
She’s a keeper. I’d keep it for a while. Have some fun and enjoy it.
Thanks to What the Rust! They are great folks and have a wealth of old car knowledge. Love Not Pink Floyd.
I absolutely love this car. They had styles that stood out back then.
My 2011 Hyundai has style! …. The same “style” as EVERY car made today 😂 they all look the same except some have a gaping fish mouth grille
Another great video! Had that classic “PBG” feel! I’d keep the car, seems like a jewel.
Drove almost an identical car for a couple years in college in the mid-90s. Great grandparents bought it new and it was off the road since the late 1960s. 332, same transmission, power steering, and select-air air conditioning - and vacuum wipers (discovered how great Rain X was) . . . The car was the same geranium color but the paint scheme was a little different - geranium on the bottom and roof and white through the middle. The thing rode like a couch and usually gave 16 to 18 mpg - would bark the tire shifting into second if you had your foot in it. Good times.
The most entertaining yet informative truly budget youtuber. Thank you Sir!
Your car is equipped with the Three-Speed "Cruise-O-Matic" transmission. D1 is used if you want low-gear starts with automatic upshifts to 2nd and direct. D2 gives 2nd-gear starts with automatic upshift into direct. Low can only be accessed in D2 by flooring the accelerator at speeds less than 15 mph.
Ford transmissions (FMX) and Borg-Warner transmissions were like this until about 1967/1968. Even some AMC's (which used Borg-Warners) had the same 2nd-gear start with the P-R-N-D2-D1-L quadrant.
Pole barn garage has become one of my favorite channels to watch daily is real it is what it is no cover-up or cut up material content it’s just real I’m a mechanic myself 35 years in this channel I most enjoy and I feel like he’s justLike me so I identify very much with you Dalton thank you for all your content
Super excited to finish the video on my way to Florida.
An interesting car. Someone will definitely want this ride. Always like the content on this channel, it never disappoints.
The old rubber hose into a soda bottle is still my favorite single person brake bleeding method.
This is one of my dream cars... I'm so happy that you saved this one
Another great video. Its been a pleasure watching your channel mature, one of my favorite channels on youtube. Keep up the great work.
Another great video! Can't wait to see what you do with the stepside interior. Id love to see you engrave "PBG" with your laser into some metal somewhere on it.

That my friend is what you call a keeper. Don't let it go.
DUDE 😎, POLE BARN, THE '59 IS SO SWEET 🎂! I LOVE THE LONG LEGENDS OF HOT RODDING! The "Thunder Bolt" and the early 60's Galaxie, so very sweet vehicles and very fast......LEGENDS! Anyway, thanks for the video 📸.
So, we bought this wreck. Should we have watched this video before the purchase? Yes, but sadly, we did not. Lesson learned.
All kidding aside, Dalton and his son were awesome hosts when we bought the Galaxie. We hung out for quite a while and got the nickel shop tour. The car has gone to a great home! Thanks guys! #GetOutNDrive
59 spring shock combo was built for a smooth ride. I did notice you can ride 6 adults.
Nice Ford for a Ford lover to have. You know who you are out there.
Boy, I truly wish I had the money to give you for that car. It's worth every penny you're asking for it. You did a wonderful job, putting it back on the road. The only bad part about your videos. Are they coming to an end? And I have to wait until you do another one. Looking forward to it. Thank you so much for sharing.
Another excellent and highly entertaining video by our host, Dalton. This car is a true survivor with great potential, and at his price point, well worthy of a new $$$ dashpad and some straight exhaust manifolds. The color is super cool, and the interior is amazing. I remember these cars when they were fairly new and all over the place and they haven't lost any of their 'coolness'. Good luck with the sale and keep up the excellent work. You guys are having a lot of fun.
DALTON 6HRS IN AND YOURE ALREADY ALMOST AT 30K VIEWS. Hell yeah man, this is awesome watching PBG grow!
Great episode. I love this channel. Keep the Ford. You can take both to a show that would be excellent
Pretty slick old car. You have done your self proud.
Maaaan if money weren't so tight right now id be on the road coming down to offer cash for that beauty, i love old vehicles and up north they're all rotted out where i live. Love the content, keep up the amazing work dalton!
Man Dalton new master and gas tank and pump and shocks you went all in on this one keep up the good work 😁👍
Dalton you are the man! 😂 Your sense of humor is awesome
Keep up with the great shows. Having your son and your girlfriend is making it better for us to watch as a family.
I'm not generally too interested in late '50s cars but I've always liked the '59 Fords and MAN is that a nice example! If I had the space and extra money I would buy her in a heartbeat! Thanks for sharing!!
What a great rig. Would make someone a great rig.
In Canada, the Ford was also called Meteor, which was a cross between a Ford and a Mercury.
Such a super cool car. Do what you need to do. Just keep putting out great videos. I like it
I see in the comments some guessing about the shift markings. I am from that era. You should have R for reverse. L for low. in that position it will start in low or go to second win down shifting above 25 mph. when the speed drops below 25 it will drop back into low. Drive 1 will start in second and go to high. They did that so you could start in second in snow and ice for better traction. Drive 2 starts in low and goes to second and on to third. If you push the accelerator to the floor it should kick down to second for passing. That is adjustable with the carburetor linkage. should work in D1 or D2. That is the way I remember it. Hope that helps. Most of those 59 s rusted away so you have a very collectable car there. You get the front bushing and links balance etc. she will cruse all day at 80 plus MPH.
All I have to say my friend is $4500 for that car is a heck of a deal. Your buddy would be crazy to pass it up.
You guys should definitely keep it. That car showed us a beautiful moment
I really like that car, nice work getting it back on the road. I love four-doors so it's nice to finally see them getting attention.
Keep up the great work!
Parts out to be easy rofl. Interesting project dude….
Great choice with the white walls.
Excellent channel, really look forward to your new videos. Keep up the good work 👍🏻
$4500 what a steal!!
Almost a dollar a pound!
Thank you for fixing that disturbing dash 😂
Man I would love to have that car. I would paint it a different color but it's still a good looking rig.
Great video and glad to see this car again. It really is in incredible condition and definitely worth a lot of TLC. Keep up the good work
Sucks to see it go, but you're right. It needs to go to someone that will have the time to be able to preserve it properly. It's nice to see someone know when they aren't the right person and is willing to let it go rather than let it rot in a field while claiming to be "saving" the car.
Yeah unfortunately we have to know when to let things go, I struggle with it
Yeah buddy, Richard and Christina are pretty cool, been subbed to them for quite awhile now! I believe that was a old Toohey’s auto parts they checked out and filmed, here in Ky.! Knowed that store well back in the 70’s.
Love that Ford, really great stuff
That is a cool ride. If I didn't have my 61 Caddy project car I'd definitely be interested in that one. My daughter's would love driving that car because of the color. I'll be checking to see if your friend buys it ,I just might have to talk my wife into letting me get another project car now that I have set here and thought about . Thanks for the videos I look forward to Friday's just to see what you and my man JD are up to.
This is why I do most of my vidyas on Motorcycles - they don't have dashpads! BTW, what a great find that old car is! You should keep it, I doubt you'd find another one as original and clean.
Parts parts parts. It's like Christmas for a car guy! Love your content!
I had a 58 Ford Fairlane 500 with 352 police interceptor. You know the old motor came with solid lift cam. Good old cars. Get rid of the exhaust leak Think it’s a keeper but wouldn’t
mind to own it myself.
Preach brother. The most critical people are the ones who accomplish the least.
I love finding sellers who have bought out an old auto parts store, one of the REAL ones and you find the BEST OE parts. Such a shame to see the old brick and mortar stores go away, but this is what happens I guess. At least someone who bought it up took the time to inventory every item and organize it all. Nice find on the OE fuel pump.
This car is awesome.
Sth completely different.
Plus that coral color rocks badass
Beautiful land yacht looked fantastic on the concrete ocean ☠️
The Great Mechanic questions not the color. The Great Mechanic only wants to see it rolling. ❤❤❤❤
That’s my evening sorted!! I only regular watch two automotive CZcams channels, yours and Junkyard digs. Both are educational and real world experiences with older cars. They also serve as partial inspiration for my own content. However, being over in England….the cars are a little less exciting!
That's a beautiful car. I dig it. It wouldn't hurt my feelings if you wanted to try your hand at putting a nice wrap on it. That could be interesting.
9:20 This is why I like your channel is because you’re real and you say it the way it is
Thanks for a cool video it’s a keeper can’t wait till the next one 🇺🇸🇺🇸👍
Grab yourself a bubble balancer at harbor freight or a swap meet, I've balanced a couple hundred tires on one and they get the job done. I like that car.
My dad had blue 59 galaxie fairlane 500. Always wanted me one but when arthritis takes over and you can't work anymore things change. As far as selling ? If I ever got my hands on one never let it go !! I still got my 81 F 100 6 cyl still runs good ,
Those white walls really look good on that car that's what it would have had on it in the 50s
I'm a ford guy. My great grandfather was a Ford guy and my grandfather and my father and uncle so long story short I love this car.
That is a cool old car! Well done easing her back onto the road.
my little sister is looking for a 59 ford. I've got a 57 Fairlaine, she was never into the 50's Fords until I bought my 57, now I regret it! 😂 not really, its nice having someone else to talk about old cars with other than my dad. I'm loving these videos!
That is a beautiful car!
Dealing with solo brake bleeding/fluid flushing and tracking down vacuum system leaks, I finally broke down and bought a metal Mityvac vacuum pump and a AUTOOL smoke machine. The time and headache savings to bleed brakes, swap out brake fluid, and quickly see the vacuum leaks in a system made these two items well worth the costs.
Cool to see you fixing it the way it came. I have to say I'd be very tempted to restomod the brake master and wipers
The vacuum wipers on these cars actually work pretty good when they work. They're variable so you can kinda make them intermittent
Little old school trick dad taught me 40 years ago, wrap some striped stranded wire around them bulbs so they sit in tight instead of crimping on them old brittle sockets, one wrap with couple twists & lay the tail facing out, 60% of the time it works every time
