The last survivor of the Christmas Truce lived a few miles from me, Alfred Anderson. He was also the oldest person in Scotland when he died. Sabaton mention him in the animated story of this. I play the pipes next to his memorial on Remembrance Sunday every year.

It does lead to people doing extraordinary things but that is no justification
The video is sad enough. But the realization that the war went on for 3 more years and cost millions of the best young men in a generation because the leaders were too cowardly to stop it is what makes me cry.
Thereâs a recording of the hubs stopping at 11am on the 11th. The guns stop and the echos rumble. Silence then one bird chirp. Wow.

The soldiers of the Christmas truce found out, that they actually had more in common with the poor bastard in the other trench, than with their own generals!
In the Christmas of 1915, the generals couldn't have that! So there was no repeat of the 1914 Christmas truce on this large scale, as the artillery kept firing ... Some DID come out of their trenches, but was mostly instantly killed by the enemy soldiers. No moment of peace in a war that'll never end ... Until 11 o'clock, 11th of November, 1918 ... War to end all wars, indeed ...

Hi guys! You're right...Sabaton is a band as no other! The care they take in making each song is superb and for me this song stands way above all of them. Soo moving! And Floor's vocals in the end completes it. The additional music at the end is made by Antti Martikainen, a independent Finnish composer who makes epic music which ranges from orchestral folk, ethnic, metal and battle influences. "Lords of Iron" is one of my favorites. Maybe you can check that out one day. In the meantime have a wonderful time with your families. Merry Christmas and take care!đ

It is an incredible story and quite amazing
from what I have heard a lot of them actually aimed to the side or above the other side after the truce.
I must of seen the Christmas Truce 100 times, with tears running down my face. this old Metal /Rock head canât stand all the commercial Christmas songs but this one will be played every year ( and thru out the year) â Lest We Forgetâ! I have no idea how many times I have watched that video, it has me in tears every time, such a powerful message, and a fantastic video, a lot of the soldiers on both sides could not fight after the truce and were replaced within 3 days, a lot on both sides were courtmarshalled, Floors vocals at the end really drive the message home as well, love it
