  • In this video I show you how to change out a shower head in less than ten minutes. We are using a new 12" square rain style shower head with a long shower arm to create an overhead shower that looks and feels amazing!
This project can be completed in as little as 5-10 minutes for a major upgrade to your shower. The same process can be applied to install a non-rain style shower head if you are simply need to replace the head itself and not the entire shower arm, or if you need to change both and are sticking with the same style.
I am absolutely loving the feel of this style of shower, and it keeps more of the water from projecting towards the entrance of my curbless shower stall, which is another nice benefit for those of you who don't have your shower area completely enclosed.

How do you generally attach the wall cover to the wall, and what do you expect others will have done to attach the wall covers in larger apartment complexes? Would you expect it to present an obstacle for simple DIY improvements in apartments?

i replaced my shower head with kacklo rain shower 6 inch and had them remove the restrictor, the shower i have is a new construction. the one i had in there was new and the pressure was amazing, so so very strong but i wanted a rain shower, upon putting the rain shower, there is hardly any pressure, the rain shower droops at very short distance. not sure what else i can do, i can put back the original shower head and keep using that with no issues.

Hey Robert! Thanks! Do you have to turn off the water from the main? I appreciate the detailed video!

If you want to be safe, you can turn off the water from the main. I did not in this video, but a quick accidental knock and turn of the valve, while your shower arm is removed, could cause water rushing out behind your tile.

You have two shower heads in the description: one normal and one high pressure. It looks like in the video you went with the normal one.
I’m curious why you chose that one over the high pressure? And how has your experience been? Any regrets compared to if you had done the high pressure?

I'm about to tackle this project but worried my shower arm is too low. Can you tell me the height of your shower arm?

My shower head is about six and a half feet from the floor. Your height could dictate how high you need it to be personally.
