      Yes she is. Honestly if she's not spayed I'd consider breeding her with an appropriate service dog minded male to see if we could get more pups like her.
      Although it could be that while she's able to do these types of things on her own. She still might not have the temperment to do it in public.
      Personally I always wanted to train my dog to help out & he did help me off the ground. I'd put my hands over his shoulders & hind legs to give me just a tiny bit of a push to more easily get up with my back. But nowhere near the wait that a real service dog can take when properly trained to brace.
      But it was just enough help.

    She reminds me of my rescue, 'Hans'... He was a "Black Saddleback" on tan, a straight-backed (vs. the American GSDs with extremely sloped backs), "German Working Line" with a face and eyes like Anya's... Your GSD sure brings back good, and sometimes sad, memories.
    I sure miss that Big Boy. He's long since gone over that Rainbow Bridge, but I remember him with much fondness, and his protection abilities of me and my family (which for him, also included our three Siberian Huskies) which were impeccable... A woman was speeding along a country road and went off road and wrecked badly while attempting a turn. She likely would have died in the car if not for a stray German Shepard Dog that happened to find her, pull her out of the totaled car, then drag her to the side of the road where she was found by another motorist who called for help. Never put a scratch on them. He would escort me to my date's car vet him for me. If he didn't like my date he would bare his teeth at them and try to herd me back to the house. And after my date he would walk me from the car to the house. Needless to say my dates never got out of their cars. That was more than 50 years ago 😳 . And I always felt safe. It makes me sad when people want a beautiful German Shepherd or a Labrador or any kind of historically working animal and just don't train them or allow them to work. German Shepherds, labs, corgis, etc LOVE to WORK. It's the reason they were bred. Then their owners get mad when the dogs get bored and tear up the house or misbehave. These dogs want to be with you all day and be your helpers. They're* not just a cute face and it's not abusive to have them do work

      @mariacuevas8331 Pƙed 3 lety +70

      @@englishatheart Thanks for the spelling correction. Pitbulls were actually originally bred for bull baiting but it was then outlawed so they were set to fight each other, which is still against most animals innate nature. You're right in that not every dog from every working breed is a good fit for actual work day in and day out. But their pedigree predicts their predisposition of needing more attention. But most of the time, humans can't play and pet all day so it gets translated into training and sometimes work. There are even studies that prove dogs that do well in work (police dogs, therapy dogs, seeing-eye dogs, etc) enjoy their jobs

My nan is afraid of them too and when she was a kid her mum took her cat, put it in a sack and carried it down the end of the garden and shot it (in front of her whilst she cried). So I'm pretty sure that's what started it all. My nans heart was broken for her cat and it turned from heart break to fear of them and it rubbed off on her daughter (my mum). Still working on my nan but she will stroke them now which is a good sign!

    I wish I could get my kids to do as much as your dog!

    As a disabled person, I need this dog so badly.

    Imagine people with disabilities without the love, care and helpfulness of a service dog. It's amazing what animals can and WANT to do 🐕

    Incredible how smart she is. We really don’t deserve them 😭
