  • I haven't spent much time in Yosemite because it is "usually" way too crowded for me. I'm so glad I decided to give it a chance mid-week during November. There were NO CROWDS!!! I couldn't believe it! I even had a trail entirely to myself. In this video I explore Yosemite Valley and camp inside the park at Upper Pine campground for 2 nights. This was my BEST experience ever in Yosemite! Come Along!

Thanks so much everyone for the positive feedback on this week's video from Yosemite National Park! I appreciate everyone who has watched it and thank you for your comments. ❤ Many of you have asked about purchasing prints from this trip. I have just added 5 new images to my website store from Yosemite that are available now for purchase. They are not only available as prints in various mediums (canvas, metal, digital, traditional), but T-shirts, mugs, phone cases, tote bags etc. are also available for purchase. Visit my store at the follow link and scroll to the bottom of the Art Store page to view the new images. Thanks as always for your support! www.catherinegregoryadventures.com/buy-prints

wow you're an inspiration, you produce such beautiful images and can sell them prints with just a kit lens and standard basic camera. I wonder how many of your subscribers have ever heard the following shouted exchange every night in Yosemite at 9:00 p.m.:

    "Let the fire fall!"

Catherine, I was in Yosemite when in college for a day while doing some work in California. I’m now 60 and my one and only wife are still working full time but we are campers when we can. We’ve made it to Yellowstone and Grand Teton and well as Isle Royale National Parks in Michigan’s upper peninsula to name a few. Residing in Kentucky makes those westward trips lengthy but as retirement begins to be discussed it may be soon when we can journey to Yosemite and behold that beauty once again. I am so thankful that past Presidents and influencers had the vision and passion to preserve our nation’s greatest treasures by creating and sustaining our National Parks! I pray that they will always remain so that our children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren if we’re so blessed, can enjoy that same inspiring scenery someday. Thanks for your beautiful scenery filled episodes. Stay safe and happy travels.

Once again Cat, the opening shot was stunning! Back in the early 2000's, I did a week long backpacking trip with some friends in Yosemite. We shuttled to the outskirts, then hiked up 1000 ft to Sunset Lakes to make a base camp. From there we hiked to Cloud's Rest, where you are actually looking DOWN at Half Dome, which of course we hiked to later and climbed. We only had what we could carry in our packs, and it was the best week of my life.

This made me, not homesick, but life experience sick if there is such a thing. I moved to Oakhurst in 95, just 12 miles from the park. Joined Cedar Valley fire, engine Co. 18 (best deep pit bbq in the valley).
In 99 I got a job working on coffee equipment and got to service Yosemite park along with King's canyon and Sequoia parks. When working in such a place if you get tense from your work, just walk outside for a minute.
As a hobby prospector and camper by nature, I literally was in heaven. In the spring and fall we actually got paid to drive to Tuolumne area and winterize or restart the equipment.
From Kings canyon to Angel's Camp, there is nothing like the Sierra's....thanks for the memories

Fall always the best time in Yosemite!
Tip: bring a bike to get around! Great excercise location!
Morning chill in the forest makes me feel alive! Early morning warm up strolling hiking without the crowds has to be experienced! Late breakfast/lunch in the sunshine in a meadow....just wonderful!
    Catherine, oh Catherine,
where will she take us next?
    No matter the place,
We will be shown the places blessed.

I grew up (and still live) in Columbia, about forty miles NNW of Yosemite. As a boy, I would go up to a friend's house on a hill and we could see Half Dome from there. I've been back to the valley a few times in the last few years. I need to go again.... thank you for this.

Catherine, my husband and I watch ALL YOUR VIDEOS. We rarely comment because we watch you on our 77" Sony OLED TV and your photography and videography are the best on CZcams. You are amazing, and we look forward to all your videos. We absolutely loved this one in particular. In fact, we've never seen a video of Yosemite to come close to the quality of your video. It is the best ever!!! Keep up the great work and we will continue watching!!

My Yosemite adventure was in June 1968, driving and camping in a VW Bug, one week from central eastern WI to Treasure Island in San Francisco Bay. Leaving Yellowstone the brown, cinnamon, and black bear beggars were lined up alongside the road, people stopped and out of there cars to feed them. I had frost on my windows when I woke.

My God Catherine, I had no idea you were getting such great photos with such minimalist gear. Everything in my kit was two to three times more than yours. I work with Canon and have a 7D plus two L series lenses plus a Manfroto CF Tripod that cost more than your camera! Yet you put me to shame, so that says a lot about your skills and eye for framing. I knew you were talented but Wow just Wow. You are so lucky to have the ability to do what you do, but your skill is every justification for why you deserve the life. I do what I can when I can but cannot afford the vehicle or the expense to do that so i have to make do with short trips several times per year. I was just in Florida for two weeks and enjoyed every minute but now I will wait until likely Feb. to save for the next one. Bless you and best wishes and thanks for taking us along on your adventures. One thing that cost so much about my kit is that I focus on wildlife and mostly raptors so the telephoto lenses are much higher and a fast shutter and large buffer make a lot of difference in price. Eagles, falcons, hawks, osprey, etc in the wild and in motion is an amazing hobby for me. In the hunt and in attack mode are much harder than in flight or on a perch. Still you are amazing with a true artist's eye.

Hi Catherine😊😊, some time ago I had mentioned that my son is autistic and he loves nature and hikes and was absolutely amazed at what he was watching with the trees, wildlife, those mountains and cliffs, especially Elk and waterfalls...he LOVES waterfalls! We sat and watched this video and he wants to go on another road trip and I said next year. Yosemite National Park is a magical place and can't wait to have my son explore this awesome place. He's keeps asking can we go this year😊😊😊😊! The Mist Trail sounds great. Hey, maybe we'll get to meet a certain friend😄. Catherine, this was a special very special video. We really enjoyed this👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍.

Catherine Oh Dear, you've let the secret out. Fall, after the first fall rain, is the best time to visit Yosemite. I used to live 130 miles north of the park, after one visit on Memorial Day way back in the 1980s, I never visited Yosemite again unless it was late October or early November. No Crowds !!! Fall colors !!! and okay waterfalls might be very dry, but you caught a good rain this year. Nice video. I have memories that are still solid from those Fall visits. Watch out for the bears. Cheers.

The place of my heart. We go every year in May for three to four days. Would love to see the park in late Fall and sometime in Winter. Thank you for sharing the place I have come to know so well.

Catherine. you may have already watched this Video a few times over . But many Viewers would feel so at peace after watching the whole Vlog. The Beauty & Serenity of the Park is Un-Comparible. Unfortunately i happened to drive through there at Night to Merced, and really saw nothing But winding road, the tall Granite Peaks thru the Trees, whilst looking to the Night Sky Above.

I had a stroke two days before Halloween and finally returned to my home this Monday. It's Saturday morning and i have just found time to look for your videos after spending the week adjusting to being home again. I thought of you and our friend Dan often while in rehab and this video really felt like coming home this morning (usually my Sunday morning ritual). I have many to catch up on. Thank you for all that you do and the exquisite quality of the productions. God bless!
