- I haven't spent much time in Yosemite because it is "usually" way too crowded for me. I'm so glad I decided to give it a chance mid-week during November. There were NO CROWDS!!! I couldn't believe it! I even had a trail entirely to myself. In this video I explore Yosemite Valley and camp inside the park at Upper Pine campground for 2 nights. This was my BEST experience ever in Yosemite! Come Along!

Cat...
Hi sweetheart. This is your best ever. Definitely worthy of a place on a coffee mug. I'll be ordering one for my Sunday morning coffee with you. Today is Nov 9th. Don't forget you said you were working on a date for your livestream this month. No pressure babe. 🤣 See ya, bye.
Love you. Randy. ❤
wow you're an inspiration, you produce such beautiful images and can sell them prints with just a kit lens and standard basic camera. Most professionals will use a medium format or expensive camera and quality high end lens for prints. Kudos to you and your photography! God bless and safe travels
It's even more stunning on horseback!
Perfect timing on your visit. Again, MAGICAL.
That moment when you come out of the tunnel into the valley…breath taking. Everyone should do that once in their lifetime.
Sooooo true ! Such stunning beauty of nature !
Better to go off Holiday Weeks. Will be crowded otherwise.
I absolutely agree.
This channel is definitely the No. 1 Sunday morning option.
Thank you 🙏
Love the scene where you floats above ground fog. 👍🧚♀️👍
I took my new wife here on our honeymoon the first week of November 1983. We hiked for miles seeing more deer than people. We just celebrated 38 years together. You just helped us relive that experience.
Thank you so much Cat for that lovely surprise 💕💞💓💕💞💕💓💓💕💞💕💓💕ooooooooo so beautiful and pleasant. I cried and cried. Thank you. Someday I will get there too. Thank you.💗
Tugs at my heartstrings. I can’t believe that it’s been 28 years since I was in Yosemite, but I still contribute to the Yosemite Conservancy every year.
It's been since 1982 for me. I understand those same feelings when missing a certain place. It is the joy experienced and thinking of those memories that cause the tugs. Yosemite does have a special place in my heart.
I know what you mean. Last time I visited, I was 12. I'm 72 now and planning to visit again next fall. An Oregon nomad 🌲❤🐺🐶❤🌲
Yosemite without bumper to bumper traffic and no throngs of people. A dream come true.
Great video.. 2019 I was in the United States. I visited Yosemite, Zion, Bryce Canyon, Monument Valley, Grand Canyon National Parks .. beautiful scenery .. Greetings from Denmark.
Very cool! Thank you!
@@CatherineGregoryAdventures Catherine beautiful video.. You did a GREAT job.. it's a pleasure to follow you on youtube.
Absolutely stunning Catherine... thank you for gifting us some of nature's beauty with your wonderful video's ♥️
I can't believe you had that hike to yourself. What a fantastic trip you had. I haven't been there since I was young because of all the people. As a native Californian, thank you for "returning" me to Yosemite!!!
I saw Yosemite at age 4, in 1957. It's something you never forget. We watched them send burning logs over the falls after dark. The whole place is magical.
Couldn't help but get emotional when seeing this. Yosemite is truly truly magnificent and transformative.
It’s my favorite place on the face of the earth. I remember going on Sunday trips to Yosemite when I was young. We lived in Clovis, near Fresno. I’ve been to some more beautiful places but none mean as much as Yosemite.
You have made one of the best CZcams videos. Hope more people can enjoy them
It's such a beautiful place but what makes it even better Catherine is the music you add to your videos. Enhances the experience! Thank you.
YOSEMITE and Catherine truly both California's Gold beauty's! You make this adventure heaven on earth!
So gorgeous, I thought it was fake! God's creations take my breathe away! You have a gift to show the splendor.
“With all this beauty, how could I not stop?” Yes!
Anyone who has been to Yosemite knows that it always holds a special place in your heart after you witness its beauty. I've been to a lot of places around the world, but Yosemite is just a special place. I look forward to returning there; hopefully next year. Thanks for this great refresher look Catherine.
And the Oscar goes to……Cat (and her hats) for another wonderful film……
Yosemite. The phrase "nearer my God to thee" comes to mind.
Hello Catherine, your keen eye for capturing Yosemite would make Ansel Adams proud of you.
Growing up in Southern California in the 1950s, spent many summer vacations, with family and friends, sleeping in old Army surplus canvas tents in Yosemite Valley!
My best friend Mark and I, in our Davy Crockett 'coonskin caps, blazing trails through the wilderness!
I wonder how many of your subscribers have ever heard the following shouted exchange every night in Yosemite at 9:00 p.m.:
"Hello Glacier!"
"Hello, Camp Curry!"
"Let the fire fall!"
"Fire fall!"
As always beeeeautiful!!!! When you took a video of walking In the fog that was great!!! Sometimes your videos bring tears to my eyes the beauty& the music . Your a gift from God for alot of us !!!!!!
Stunning. Spectacular colors. Great cinematography. Beatiful host. Total package.
Thank you for showing us our beautiful area.
My fav place on earth🌎🌎
That was so stunning & majestic. Just when it seems it can't get any more beautiful, it does. Loved watching this. :)
The "tunnel" view is one ionic view I will never forget!
Thank you for capturing the majesty of nature for us all to see ! It's probably the only way I will ever get to see it ! You're the best young lady !
Absolutely beautiful cinematography. Your videos are top notch.
Maybe it was the beauty of Yosemite, perhaps the bittersweet end of another beautiful year, but that was one of your best productions ever. Thank you for sharing that decidedly intimate dance with autumn.
Dear Cat 😄🍀😘 this is one of our personal most like places in the world we have ever seen. 🙏☺️thank you for sharing your moments in Yosemite with us🍀😘 you did it in such a lovely way 👍🤩 Take care on you ☺️🍀See you next week, your Berlin Fan Couple Nicole and Hardy 🥰🤗
Thanks so much guys!
Catherine you did a really great job of capturing how magical of place Yosemite is . It’s one of the truly special places on earth .Yosemite should hire you to do their promotional videos
The scenery is so iconic and you photography so spectacular that this video is surreal. Thank you for sharing and for letting Yosemite speak for itself.
Absolutely BEAUTIFUL. Good morning Catherine .
Good morning! Thank you!
Are you talking about Yosemite or Catherine? I must say I agree with you either way! The two together is breath taking.
Amazed with all the hiking, and camping you have done, that you have not spent more time in Yosemite.
The Ultimate Ground of Being in all its Slender.
Many Thanks!
Summer of 1970, a buddy and I took the trail to the top of Vernal Falls, and then just kept on going, all the way to Lake Merced High Sierra Camp. And back. 35-miles. Thank you, Cat, such great memories. 👍
Beautiful!I can't wait to hike and see it in my own eyes. I love visiting NPs.
Catherine, Yosemite is one of the only parks in CA where you truly see the seasons changing. Absolutely beautiful scenery, the sunrise brings such beautiful hues to the trees and mountains. Thanks again for taking us along.
I know that prescribed burns can sound like a loss for photographers, but your keen eye put it to work and it felt that you were walking yourself through the October and November month shots in the ultimate Yosemite calendar - an early Christmas present for your fans.
Your soothing voice and relaxing choice of music, along with the beautiful views ..has caused a long measure of Zen
Yosemite was the first National Park I ever visited. Came back 39 years later and loved it. 😍 Hope to come back next year..
Catherine, I was in Yosemite when in college for a day while doing some work in California. I’m now 60 and my one and only wife are still working full time but we are campers when we can. We’ve made it to Yellowstone and Grand Teton and well as Isle Royale National Parks in Michigan’s upper peninsula to name a few. Residing in Kentucky makes those westward trips lengthy but as retirement begins to be discussed it may be soon when we can journey to Yosemite and behold that beauty once again. I am so thankful that past Presidents and influencers had the vision and passion to preserve our nation’s greatest treasures by creating and sustaining our National Parks! I pray that they will always remain so that our children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren if we’re so blessed, can enjoy that same inspiring scenery someday. Thanks for your beautiful scenery filled episodes. Stay safe and happy travels.
If you do indeed visit CA and Yosemite again, I HIGHLY encourage you to visit at a time where you can also take the King's Canyon National Scenic Byway into King's Canyon National Park. It is truly magnificent and will take your breath away just like Yosemite, but with a fraction of the crowds.
A beautiful reminder of the time that my husband and I went on vacation in July to that area it was so so pretty so calm almost a sacred space.... Except for adding 9 billion people.
Your videography is Nat Geo worthy!
"Cold in the lower 30s" LOL. That's cute!
Thanks Kat, Yosemite in it's utmost brilliance. Thank for capturing it and share it's magical Fall atmosphere.
Spent many, many days there climbing, soul embracing, and just being a human.
I love visiting popular places when it's in the 30's, so few people when it's cold outside ;o)
My husband and I were both there in 2000 and we traveled 12 national parks in 2 weeks and only could stay one day and Yosemite. You can't truly explore it in one day but we got to see El Capitan and all the big places and it is absolutely stunning and thank you for showing it to us in the fall. We were there in June. Absolutely beautiful breathtaking.
I like how you are a huge proponent of getting up and at um early. This visit nailed that.
Cat, this video you made reminds me the value of pausing my personal inner commentary and dialog because in some moments there just are no words. Thank you for taking me there with you.
Off season & early in the morning. Magic times to travel and have an incredible place like Yosemite Falls all to yourself. Beautiful !
What a wonderful trip down memory lane for me. My only visit there was in the mid 1970s, late October. I've never forgotten that initial heart stopping first view going in....left an enduring love of this place. What a treat. Thank you.
Once again Cat, the opening shot was stunning! Back in the early 2000's, I did a week long backpacking trip with some friends in Yosemite. We shuttled to the outskirts, then hiked up 1000 ft to Sunset Lakes to make a base camp. From there we hiked to Cloud's Rest, where you are actually looking DOWN at Half Dome, which of course we hiked to later and climbed. We only had what we could carry in our packs, and it was the best week of my life.
There's a Lucille Ball/Desi Arnaz movie, "The Long Long Trailer" which has the same shot. Can you imagine seeing that on a movie screen? Wow. However, *NOTHING* prepares you for seeing Tunnel View in person. It's imposing and breathtaking.
Thanks for sharing your experience I find it inspiring to know how others felt or thought about hiking in Yosemite
When I was a kid in the 70's I got a shirt from there that read "GO CLIMB A ROCK" I also got stung by a wasp while skipping rocks in the river.
Every frame is a master piece of Nature Art!
Superlative photography, composition, and music, BRAVO!!!!
My favorite hiking area in the USA. Used to park my VW camper bus in the parking lot next to the Yosemite Lodge. Thanks for sharing Cat. Your eye for the camera and ear for the music is always a treat.
Good Morning, the shot of the waterfall through the trees with the sunlight was just breath taking.
Thank you!
Your videos are just as great the second ,third and fourth time watching them. Thank you for all you do
Thank you!
The scenery out west is absolutely mind blowing!
No crowds! What a blessing that was.
This made me, not homesick, but life experience sick if there is such a thing. I moved to Oakhurst in 95, just 12 miles from the park. Joined Cedar Valley fire, engine Co. 18 (best deep pit bbq in the valley).
In 99 I got a job working on coffee equipment and got to service Yosemite park along with King's canyon and Sequoia parks. When working in such a place if you get tense from your work, just walk outside for a minute.
As a hobby prospector and camper by nature, I literally was in heaven. In the spring and fall we actually got paid to drive to Tuolumne area and winterize or restart the equipment.
From Kings canyon to Angel's Camp, there is nothing like the Sierra's....thanks for the memories
(by the way, Tony at El Cid's in Oakhurst is a wonderful person and a great cook)
Absolutely brilliant video's, stunning, best I've seen to date. Thank you Catherine. Take care,. Jack.
Yosemite has always been on my bucket list, but if I kick it before I get there I must say, this exquisite video gave me that feeling of being there and with all its autumn beauty it was even more enhanced with you...subscribed.
Thanks so much for subscribing!
It's a great majestic magesty ! Only sweet woman, your not by yourself, you have a small crew following you filming this great place. I've done it , and some serious climbing over night. To get the full appreciation of this special place. With all the beautiful waterfalls, you don't get the true feeling of being there, unless you take a dip at the falls or beaches in Southern California. I fish and provide my own free meals.
I have never watched such a beautifully produced video! Thank you so much for this.
The only sane place left in California!
Photo @14:13 is absolutely stunning! Thank you for taking us along.
In the late 70's took my family for 6 years in a row camping and fishing at Tuolumne Meadows some backpacking excursions into the back country.. very memorable liked your video
Breath taking scenery
Wow, this has to be one of your best videos. Thank you for sharing. Who needs Netflix?
Ok.....I can get my day started .. got my Catherine vid fix, had my breakfast, my coffee and thats always a good start.
Yosemite National Park is nature lover's paradise and you did a masterful job in catching its essence.
Thank you 🙏
Yosemite is the most beautiful place I've ever seen
Yosemite is a beautiful place I got to go to many times during my childhood.
So beautiful I think words sometimes can't describe how beautiful it is thank you for sharing.
I just found you on CZcams when I was searching for anything Yosemite. You did a great job with this video. You brought out the beauty of God's creation. Thank you.
NUTS!!! I should be there too!!!
Fall always the best time in Yosemite!
Tip: bring a bike to get around! Great excercise location!
Morning chill in the forest makes me feel alive! Early morning warm up strolling hiking without the crowds has to be experienced! Late breakfast/lunch in the sunshine in a meadow....just wonderful!
Catherine, oh Catherine,
where will she take us next?
No matter the place,
We will be shown the places blessed.
There are no words for beauty like that...Wow
You bring majic to our Sunday mornings. Thank you for yet another piece of art. And again, as always, please take care.
Thank you very much!
I grew up (and still live) in Columbia, about forty miles NNW of Yosemite. As a boy, I would go up to a friend's house on a hill and we could see Half Dome from there. I've been back to the valley a few times in the last few years. I need to go again.... thank you for this.
Catherine, my husband and I watch ALL YOUR VIDEOS. We rarely comment because we watch you on our 77" Sony OLED TV and your photography and videography are the best on CZcams. You are amazing, and we look forward to all your videos. We absolutely loved this one in particular. In fact, we've never seen a video of Yosemite to come close to the quality of your video. It is the best ever!!! Keep up the great work and we will continue watching!!
Thank you both so much Linda! I don't get to watch on a big screen. I'm happy to hear this. Thank you.
Nice to experience Yosemite with no or minimal crowds. Its rare to see the park without crazed auto tourist. 🏞️.
My Yosemite adventure was in June 1968, driving and camping in a VW Bug, one week from central eastern WI to Treasure Island in San Francisco Bay. Leaving Yellowstone the brown, cinnamon, and black bear beggars were lined up alongside the road, people stopped and out of there cars to feed them. I had frost on my windows when I woke.
My God Catherine, I had no idea you were getting such great photos with such minimalist gear. Everything in my kit was two to three times more than yours. I work with Canon and have a 7D plus two L series lenses plus a Manfroto CF Tripod that cost more than your camera! Yet you put me to shame, so that says a lot about your skills and eye for framing. I knew you were talented but Wow just Wow. You are so lucky to have the ability to do what you do, but your skill is every justification for why you deserve the life. I do what I can when I can but cannot afford the vehicle or the expense to do that so i have to make do with short trips several times per year. I was just in Florida for two weeks and enjoyed every minute but now I will wait until likely Feb. to save for the next one. Bless you and best wishes and thanks for taking us along on your adventures. One thing that cost so much about my kit is that I focus on wildlife and mostly raptors so the telephoto lenses are much higher and a fast shutter and large buffer make a lot of difference in price. Eagles, falcons, hawks, osprey, etc in the wild and in motion is an amazing hobby for me. In the hunt and in attack mode are much harder than in flight or on a perch. Still you are amazing with a true artist's eye.
Catherine is just so amiable. God bless y'all.
New coffee stuff new hiking new nice life
Hi Catherine😊😊, some time ago I had mentioned that my son is autistic and he loves nature and hikes and was absolutely amazed at what he was watching with the trees, wildlife, those mountains and cliffs, especially Elk and waterfalls...he LOVES waterfalls! We sat and watched this video and he wants to go on another road trip and I said next year. Yosemite National Park is a magical place and can't wait to have my son explore this awesome place. He's keeps asking can we go this year😊😊😊😊! The Mist Trail sounds great. Hey, maybe we'll get to meet a certain friend😄. Catherine, this was a special very special video. We really enjoyed this👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍.
Catherine Oh Dear, you've let the secret out. Fall, after the first fall rain, is the best time to visit Yosemite. I used to live 130 miles north of the park, after one visit on Memorial Day way back in the 1980s, I never visited Yosemite again unless it was late October or early November. No Crowds !!! Fall colors !!! and okay waterfalls might be very dry, but you caught a good rain this year. Nice video. I have memories that are still solid from those Fall visits. Watch out for the bears. Cheers.
Staggeringly beautiful. I never thought of traveling to see Yosemite in November. But that autumn color! ❤ 🍁 😮
What a beautiful area of Cali! So enjoy your show. Hubby found you a while back and we are both so enjoying your show. I love seeing an independent woman doing her thing! So proud of you for all your accomplishments!
Thank you so much!
Wow. Just stunning. It was like you had all of Yosemite just to yourself. Lovely.
The place of my heart. We go every year in May for three to four days. Would love to see the park in late Fall and sometime in Winter. Thank you for sharing the place I have come to know so well.
Catherine. you may have already watched this Video a few times over . But many Viewers would feel so at peace after watching the whole Vlog. The Beauty & Serenity of the Park is Un-Comparible. Unfortunately i happened to drive through there at Night to Merced, and really saw nothing But winding road, the tall Granite Peaks thru the Trees, whilst looking to the Night Sky Above.
I had a stroke two days before Halloween and finally returned to my home this Monday. It's Saturday morning and i have just found time to look for your videos after spending the week adjusting to being home again. I thought of you and our friend Dan often while in rehab and this video really felt like coming home this morning (usually my Sunday morning ritual). I have many to catch up on. Thank you for all that you do and the exquisite quality of the productions. God bless!
Absolutely breathtaking. Thank you for inviting us along on this serene and magnificent adventure.
