Whats the odds this video popped up while scrolling. I was just at Tn trail jam 2024 loretta lynns ranch
And on the last day, both of my back brake calipers locked up on the trail. Had to take both calipers off and pinch the lines with vise grips. Good job on the video. Thanks

Same caliper seized on my 2016 JKU. I ended up replacing all the caliper's with the larger JLU brakes which have been fine since. Just did my ball joints as well and did the metal cloak heavy duty drag link and tie rod while I was at it. Only have 32K on the Jeep.

I will definitely have to look into JLU brakes ! Might have to try that out on my next JKU build . Metal cloak is one of my favorite aftermarket companies you can’t go wrong with any of there products

92 k miles 2016 jku, never replaced my calipers. Did place powerstop brakes on it 1.5 years ago with cross drilled vented rotors. Love those. Bought brand new, only issue was the clockspring, and that has an extended 15 year warranty on it from the factory

That’s awesome you haven’t had to mess with the calipers! You definitely can’t go wrong with powerstop brakes they are hands down one of the best out there . I don’t remember if I’ve ever had to replace the clock spring on any of the wranglers

I have replaced all 4. Someone had done a pad slap on it before me. Frozen caliper cause over heating of rotors and warped them.

The good old pad slap . Frozen calipers can wipe out a good set of brakes quick
