Hi everyone. In this video I share my top 10 favourite colouring books that I purchased in 2021 and the pages I’ve completed in them.

As soon as I saw the title of this video I knew what your top pick would be, lol. I didn't get a lot of colouring done this year but I am really enjoying my Rita Berman and Lulu Mayo books. I have Mythographic books as well as Circle of Life but just haven't worked up the courage to colour in them yet, lol. I love all your completed pages and congratulations on getting so many done in Circle of Life.

Your choices are TOP, I love all the books you picked. I’ve been trying to add more embellishments to my pages, but for some reason they do not look as good as yours. Maybe it’s because I usually gravitate to neutral colors. I specially like the pages in the WOW book and the one with the quote! I think your no. 1 is the Circle of Life, which you made me buy, it remains uncolored. I plan to follow the koi page you did with Inktense.
I actually don’t have a “favorite” book right now and all my books which are not that many have been bought this year. Maybe the Anastasia Elly Koldareva PDF book is my favorite, and the 2nd is called the Porcelain Nymph which is a tale written by Isabel Allende and illustrated by Ana de Lima, it’s in Spanish but I’ve seen the English version in Book Depository.
Hi Yazmin. You’ve got some great book choices there as your possible favourites. I’m sure your embellishments look beautiful but like you say it may not look similar to mine as you prefer more neutral colours! Hope you had a lovely festive season and I hope you have a wonderful new year! ❤️😊

So glad I found you and this video. I can't wait to go through the rest of your videos. We have a lot in common as far as taste. I am an ink and watercolor artist but I need to find a few adult coloring books for those nights I have no energy or motivation to draw or paint, just to keep my artistic skills sharp and still feel like I'm creating something. I love your shading, your choices of colors, etc. I really loved all the books you've shown here, so I know I'll find a lot more on your channel. I NEED to know what you use for that silver color in the first book. Is that a silver posca paint pen? I'll look in some of your other videos and see if I can't figure it out but if you see this I'd love to know! Thank you for sharing and introducing me to new world of adult coloring books!
Edit: is that metallic watercolor paint? It's beautiful and opaque. Which one is it? And does it not ruin or watp the pages of the books? They must have decent paper them. I'm even MORE excited.
Hi there, thanks so much for watching and welcome to the channel. I have a couple of silver paints that are gorgeous watercolours from Etsy, they are the true silver from the Art Spirits on Etsy and Liquid chrome from Reneeissance colours, on Etsy too. The paint does not warp the page as I don’t use too much water. 😊

The map page you showed in Rita's new book, what did you use to colour the land areas with? It's softly colour shifting from one area to another.
Your use of metallic paints and pens is superb now. It's really your thing. Such lovely pictures. Happy Christmas K. (I know you said you don't celebrate it, but still, you can still enjoy the time. Do you do anything to mark the day at all? A traditional meal of your own devising?)
Hi Sue thanks so much for watching. I used a variety of pencils on that Rita Berman map page but can’t exactly remember which pencils for that particular part. I think I definitely used the Derwent pencil blender or Zest it to get a smoother finish though! I enjoy this time of year and we do use the holidays to visit family, etc… I hope you have a fantastic Christmas and new year and get to do a lot of colouring 😊❤️

I knew what your number one favourite would be. It is the same as mine. I enjoyed colouring in it through out the year. I must get back to it. My copy is also looking quite used and battered about on the outside too. Lol.

Did you say you are a scientist?? When you color the white backgrounds, do you do those first(paint, pencils, markers, pastels,etc) so it doesn't run into the other objects? I am still AMAZED at your gorgeous coloring!!😁 Was sick for while so missed quite a few of your videos. Men I g from surgery now. Want to get back to coloring. Merry Christmas from across the pond!

beautiful pages! I usually leave backgrounds white..I would love to experiment with pastels but no clue where to start..
Thanks so much. Just go for it, start by using a 2 or 3 colours of pastels like a dark, medium and light blue and just use a cotton pad / cotton wool ball to rub on to the page. It’s so easy to rub out if it goes on areas you don’t want it to go on.
Maybe the book artists would love to collaborate with you to use your coloring and their drawings for other products, like bags or posters or cups or...? So lovely!

I would give a gel pen set or some fine liners. Chromatek glitter gel pens or Staedtler fine liners are good quality.

What color pencils, Markers, gel pens etc. That you use in your coloring books absolutely stunning 😍

Lots of different pencils brands, Arteza, Arrtx, Polychromos and many mediums including watercolour pencils, mica magic powders, pan pastels, etc…
I also use Pentel metallic gel pens, Sakura glaze pens and Uni-ball metallic pens

Thank you! I enjoy using Coliro paints and various metallic watercolours from The Art Spirits and Reneeissance colours on Etsy. I also use gelly roll glaze and Pentel dual metallic hybrid gel pens.

You have some really pretty coloring books. I have a few of the same ones, such as Circle of Life. My ten year old grandson fell in love with it when he discovered it. Now I have to share it. I really like, no love! your colored images in The circle of life book, it's a gorgeous book, I have it too, one of my favourites. What medium are you using for that metallic glossy colors, is it paint? And which type of paint is it, I'm looking for a good quality metallic paint like that.
Thanks so much for watching. I use a variety of paints - Magicfly iridescent acrylic paints are very good as are Coliro paints, for backgrounds.
@@ColouringwithK Thanks! I did find 2 types of the magicfly metallic paints in bottles, one of 'em is textile paint. The coliro I find a bit expensive, but I also don't know how much paint is in a cake(that's what they call it right?) in other words, how long it will last. I did put them both on my wishlist anyway. I recently used 2 metallic paints I bought at AliExpress, which are also pretty good, but I like to have paints that don't take too much water and cover in 1 or 2 go's
@@astrids1203 The magicfly iridescent acrylic in bottles is what I’ve got and it’s good for paper that’s not good with water, if you don’t use the paint watered down.

What markers or pencils do you use
A variety - Derwent lightfast, Arrtx, Arteza, Prisma’s, Holbeins and Faber Castell Polychromos are some of my favourite pencils. I don’t use markers often but I like water based ones such as Staedtler triplus.
