This might be the first sign that Jakks is open to doing idw figures. Stonks would triple if they made tangle and whisper figures
Jakks is sitting on MONEY with the IDW characters, Whisper, Tangle, Lanolin, Surge, Kit, Jewel, Belle, Mimic, Clutch, even variants like Dr. Tinker, Metal Virus variants of existing characters, they could even give us the Phantom Rider which would be super cool (tho Wave & Storm should come before him imo)
The chances of us getting a Belle figure just shot up through the roof
I know it's just a figure but after reading through the metal virus, a part of my mind is telling me "don't touch him." I think I may pick this one up!

I was more so hoping for the original characters from IDW. Cool I guess
They’ll likely be added later on, Metal Virus Sonic is arguably the smartest pick they could have made since it’s a character everyone recognises, but in a state not everyone knows of, since a large portion of the fandom still hasn’t read the IDW comics. This figure will help get kids more interested in the comics in a more natural way rather than just shoving new characters in their faces.
I hope we get ZomBot shadow afterwards
More IDW would be great. I missed the Archie run, but got back into Sonic once my 4 year old started watching Sonic X. Getting a full set of Diamond Cutters, Belle, Kit and Surge would be fantastic.
Really hope this is an indication that metal virus/starline arcs are going to get some TV/movie/video game love.

Wait, if you really think about it, this is the first time in sonic history the comics had physically been seen in main line media I mean frontiers only slightly talked about them but we actually see them I hope we get more comic characters as figures
More than that. The Takeovers referenced IDW and the second to last TailsTube, the canon in-universe web show Tails hosts, had the gang go to Restoration HQ and name-dropped Jewel. This also isn't the first merch drop for IDW, as we've had plushies, stickers and toys for Tangle and Whisper
