    this video is a fantastic gift to the world - a fabulous demonstration of close to long forgotten craftsmanship = sensational.

      @goognamgoognw6637 Před 6 lety +5

      Apisto Group, actually this is not a long forgotten craftmanship, he is using tons of power tools, the tool he tried to duplicate were originally made to perfection in the 18th century BY HAND WITH HAND TOOLS without any power tools.

    • @apistosig4173
      @apistosig4173 Před 6 lety +4

      Granted & agreed but - he still knows how to get the job done even if he took some short-cuts - for me I think the end result speak for itself. I was recently in the workshop of a local wood-worker (Melbourne) and delighted in his hand-made wooden spoke shaves. Q: how long would a video have been if the entire construction was done by hand? You of course are right - I of course remain impressed ;-)

      @@goognamgoognw6637 True Goognam, but you must realize that if the 18th century craftsman had power tools they would have used them too.
      I think it is about the quality of the end product.
      The pride in doing the job right and the satisfaction you get from knowing you did your best, and end product was better than average.

    Nicely done! I like the design, but could you clear something up? If i'm understood correctly front of the bottom, before the blade is usually little bit higher compared to rest of the bottom, so excess material is fed to blade, but not too much. I didnt see you make it into this plane, could you elaborate why is that?
