Yup, we've all blundered like that before. The kids played a great game!

Great sacrificing and tons of derring-do by to young knights of the game - breathless. Well done Mato

2:49 Why not take the bishop anyway? Rook is defended. And if Qb6 then Qe7. If Na5 then Rxc1+ Nxc1 Qxc1#. If taking immediately, then after the recapture, you play something like Qc7 then Qd8.

Except black doesn't have to take the bishop. Qxg5 Bxb5+ Ke7 and white is a move too slow to win material and must trade instead, giving black time to defend himself without losing material, winning the pawn too in fact whilst the bishop is still hanging. And yes, I'm aware of the line Rxc8 Bxc8 Qc7+ then Kf6. If Qxc8 then axb5.@williamhu1554

Should he not exchange queens? I mean white was ahead in material and by exchanging queens, black's knight sacrifice would have been unsound?

Same for me, but the pawns may still crush it, because f5 or g2 will fall also.

Two connected passed pawns in the center with three pawns for a piece theatening to win another pawn should be more than equal imho
