The 772 is a Lima Locomotive Works ‘Berkshire’ 2-8-4 type locomotive, probably built in 1945. The engine declared to be the Polar Express’s real life counterpart is Pere Marquette 1225, even though it’s the same locomotive type.

The beeping is to warn you you are speeding, it is a seventy feature.and yes, it is sad, Amtrak doesn't want their trains speeding so they put in an abs. Union Pacific is a railroad and the big boy was not the first to go over 100 mph. The big boy is the biggest locomotive ever built. The first American steam loco to surpass 100 mph was in the early EARLY 1900s the big boy was built in 1940s and streamlines already surpassed 100 daily...

i got a suggestion for ya, try to put the inversor (is it how we call it) to neutral position when going to arround 100 mph, because like it is on a car, if the gearbox is engaged, the car can t go faster than the engine, and in a slope like this, the engine could actually slow the train, so i suggest putting the inversor on neutral to let gravtity do its job

I think what happened with the Big Boy was that a few seconds before derailing, the front set of drivers started hovering and the hinge pin that separates the two sets of drivers caused the front set to swing to the left and derail the Big Boy which is why the Big Boy was too long.

LaZeR JET! You were right about the pacific diesel engine is ours, but the brothers and sisters of that type is what pulls our freight.
You wanted Big Boy to go faster, but you removed the throttle and power to do that, so he failed the speed test because you have no understandings on how a steam engine works.
That "Pollar Express - 772" Train Requires a redo on testing and that Engine is referring to the "Nickel Plate 765" ((Nickel Plate Road no. 765 is a 2-8-4 "Berkshire" type steam locomotive built for the Nickel Plate Road in 1944 by the Lima Locomotive Works in Lima, Ohio. Classified as a "S-2" class Berkshire, the locomotive operated fast, heavy freight and passenger trains until retirement in 1958.))
BTW Daylight would go faster if you were using the throttle and power at max, it works the same way as you use them on the diesel and electric.

11:10 this is a phenomenon called rolling oscillation and it happens at high speeds due to the shape of the wheels of the train, the reason bullet trains dont do it is because their wheels are farther apart and are almost complete cylinders rather than the slight cone shape of most train wheels

That beeping is the over speed controller. Here it's set to 100 MPH, but in real life it's set to 79 MPH. If the train goes over the maximum allowed speed, the alarm sounds, and the driver must acknowledge by setting the brakes to Suppression and hit the alerted reset button. Otherwise, the computer takes over, putting the brakes on and bringing the train to a screeching halt.
