It ain't easy, but somebody has to do it. A lot of work but great payoff!
Here's a huge hint for people trying this; the words of the lyrics are made of consonants and vowels. Words with leading consonants, and sometimes vowels, are the beats of the vocals, and the vowels are the notes. When I mark up a song, I underscore and bold the letter that's the 1 of each measure! Figuring this out helped me tremendously!

just do it alot... simple. embed the song within your soul before picking up, or singing, anything

I've been working on it but I think there's a thing thats holding me back. I'm left handed playing a right handed bass and, when I'm playing and singing I find myself stuttering and gasping for air. Especially when its both complex separate rhythms.

Been trying to play & sing 'And The Beat Goes On' by The Whispers at the same time. I feel like it would count as an example. The Bass is arguably the main feature of that song even more so than the singing. Maybe one day I can pull it off..

This is a pretty good introduction on how to do it. Thanks! (you might consider recording the bass directly in an other channel of your sound card rather than with a microphone, for you get a lot of echo and this slappy bass line sounded terrible)
