I’m not a Gibson man although I do love lightweight guitars. This thing is making me consider getting an SG.

I hated SGs my whole life. Until I played an SG.
They’re now one of my favorite guitars to pick up. They’re really slick and classic and comfortable guitars. Gotta have one (or two) in the collection. (Red is my least favorite)

I just picked up the same guitar from Musician's Friend, and she's a beauty! I had to shape the Nut corners and remove scratches from the last three frets, as well as the last few fret markers were unfinished and show rows of lines across them. The guitar plays too well for me to chance returning it for a replacement. The rolled fretboard is nice, mine had no neck dive. The pickups are nothing special and should be higher output for the coil splitting to be really usable. Thanks for sharing. This is my first SG and I bought it for that Metallic Gold color! 😁👍🎸🔥

Great video of the unboxing. If you lift the amp up to microphone level (camera or phone) the sound quality would be a bit better.

Recording on a FujiFilm x-s10. Audio from a WA-47 Mic (seen on the right of the screen) it’s being used as a room mic for sure. When I first started this channel (about a year ago) I tried a shure sm57 on the cab. May switch back to that. Or might switch from the condenser to a shotgun mic for main audio. I usually do amp sim tones too. Thanks for watching!

@TheMixWithABD The guitar sounds a bit distant and like it's really low. No worries. Good channel and well done reviews.

Where is the best area to place the strap button to alleviate neck dive?

Honestly. I don’t love how SGs feel when standing. But when sitting they feel great because you balance them towards the back when you’re playing so there’s no neck dive.

Look up the Tony Iommi monkey SG. No neck dive

I’ve seen quite a few folks move the strap button to the upper horn. I’ve also heard of folks adding weight to the electronics cavity, but no clue how best to accomplish that.

My SG didnt have better QC than Gibson. It came with the truss rod cranked so tight it cracked the finish on the neck. Fretwork is often questionable too

I agree a lot of epiphones can be bad. This one is nearly perfect
