Engine sound IS amazing
I have an X3 (not an M version) and it will happily cruise at 180 kph, the problem is, too many soccer moms and truckers don't know to stay out of the left lane! Agree with another poster, in Sport Mode, the X3 is a blast to drive.
I have this exact car.. love those burbles on sport pro mode.. The car is a little stiff for usual city roads, but is a blast on highway..

Yes, BMW lies about the real power output. I saw someone who ran an AWD dyno on the 2018 M40i and it read 394HP to the wheels with 93 octane. That’s insane. Also I’ve seen several posts where owners hit 4.3 seconds 0-60. Who needs an X3M when you have the M40i for $20K less?
I wish there was a larger brake kit as an option...larger 14" slotted or cross drilled rotors with 6-piston calipers would have been nice :D

Especially with that much traffic on the road. He has to be going 80 Km/h or more then the flow of traffic. Just crazy this is in a X3. And a SSUV at that. Nuts.

BMW is way better than Audi these days. Ive had a new Audi and it was poor value and apart from premium interior materials, the build quality overall is not what you would expect, and mine developed faults. Very very poor overpriced VW in disguise. At least BMW only make BMW cars ! Thats the difference. The ultimate driving machine, yeah they still are.
Agreed. When looking to buy a premium SSUV I ended up getting loaded X3 xdrive. Plenty of power but sort of wished I got the inline six. That motor is a beast. Really don't need 350 HP but that motor is truly legendary. The best inline six ever made.

Idk what you're talking about but my 4 series was squeaky and rattled all over. BMW leather is also cheap and not comfortable at all, probably the worst of the 3. Door closing sounded like a damn Honda.

What would´ve happened if you continued to accelerate and reach lets say 270 km/h ? since the max speed the dials say is 260 but it can go more than that for sure
Its limited to 260, thats why he couldnt go further. It could propably do 280-290 even without a Limiter

I previously had the Evoque. I looked at the Velar,Sport and decided on the X3 M40i. I picked mine up 2 weeks ago and will never look back. The technology shits over Range Rover with so many more features.

What would you choose between X3 M40i / SQ5 / GLC 43 AMG ?? Could you tell me some biggest differences ?
I know I'm 2 years late here with a reply but I just purchased the X3 M40i after comparing all of the ones you listed above. The SQ5 just felt more clunky and the instrument layout/interior didn't feel as superior. Exterior was also pretty boring. The GLC 43 AMG was a beast and I was close to getting one but the dealers here wanted $6K-12K over MSRP and I refused to pay that. Also their colors were pretty boring at Black, Grey and White. Especially in my areas.

Yeah i'll be putting my order in for the 2019 x3 M40i in a few months. Will be my first BMW. So i'm beyond excited. I live in the state where they're manufactured, so I have worked things out so I can take a delivery of it straight from the factory that assembled it, along with some hot laps in the M5 and whatnot. Super excited.

I've got one and got it up to a hundred once and it was loafing. Did not seem fast at all at that speed. Looking up top speed on the 30i gives it 130MPH. And I can assure you it will do that easily. Problem is in the states you basically go to jail if they catch you doing it.
The roads you drive on are always traffic free be it the autobahn or country roads her in england doesnt matter what road or what time your on they are always congested
Peter benn pan Because in countries like Germany or Austria driving and having a car is becoming more and more expensive and less people can afford it also on a lot of highways the legal speed is set down from 130 kmh to 100 mostly due to green parties which also makes going from A to B in a car much slower compared to trains for instance.

The new X3/X5 don't look it but have really good drag coefficients. The do really well at high speeds. Got my X3 up to 100 mph once and if was loafing. And that is with the 2.0 bi turbo. The inline six in this video is a beast. What a great motor. BMW has made it for decades.

My 540i makes 13,5 s 100-200 with driftbox. Don‘t be envious Mrs Duklus😂 We have 102 oktan and the Autobahn here in Germany🇩🇪 A 540i with Automatic 91 oktan an high milage has no chance thats for sure.
