@@floridacracker_ I agree 100%. Grew up in Chesapeake Va on the the Elizabeth River. That’s how we did it. Anchor the John boat and throw some Chechen over the sides and wait for the line to pull tight. Pull it in super slow and dip net time! We did from our back yard at high tide too.
As far as I know the viniger breaks down the albumin and connective tissue hence making is easy tp peel and the sweetness I thing is the flavor of the connective tissue. Hope it helps also I could be wrong but one of my culinary professors explained it when I went to chef school for me culinary degree. Thank you. And your channel is great.

I was a bit sad with fishing....and i dont go for 4 or 5 years...and because of you, i´ll start fishing again.

I’am a crabber here in Connecticut and I am good at it ( pat on the back) I used a kayak and crab the tributaries off Long Island Sound on the Connecticut shoreline. I use chicken wings. I make a knot a foot above the chicken wing and crab about two hours before the incoming tide. I move in fifteen minutes if I don’t get anything and then move again after catching the big ones for they are territorial. I also make a awesome crab sauce. Crabbing is free no license required in Connecticut
We go crabing over in Taylor County at a place called Hickory Mound. You gotta ride down a 7 mile long dirt road to get there but when you do and if you time the tide right, it don't take long to fill a big cooler full of crabs and you can be choosy !!!! Thanks Rob !!!! I never get enough of watching you and my girlfriend is hooked on your channel too !!!! I got a keeper this tyme !!!! I can't remember if it was you or Blue Gabe that had the friend that went crabing with one of ya'll and when he got back his girlfriend was gone !!!! You said the only way to alleviate that problem is to get one that will go with you !!!!! Thank you Lord fore sending me one !!!! No catch and release this time !!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I'm out !!!!!

I love it when you take us on a crabbing adventure in Jupiter. You are so at home anywhere in the backwaters of the river or whereever you decide you want to go. You take. us many places and on many adventures but as that old saying is so true....there is no place like home. Rob, you have worked very hard to have the kind of life you want for you and your family. I know it's gets hard to come up with interesting different videos every week but so far you've never let us down. I just wanted to let you know that as time goes by we still enjoy the around Jupiter and the community which you live in, not to mention hanging around the house cooking something. I do miss some of the old gang but I understand that sometimes too much of a good thing is not the best thing. Still, we need a reunion.

One of the first videos I watched if yours where I knew I was hooked was the first crab bake where the trick to make the meat separate and sweet is vinegar. Such a good trick and what a journey from then till now. Keep it rocking!

Some of my favorite memories were dropping crab pots the moment I got down the shore. Big ol pot, lotta ol’bay splash of vinegar to help the meat release. Man I can spend hours picking blue crabs

Hey Rob, on the vinegar trick, they tell you to boil eggs that way too because it makes the eggs easier to peel, so it make sense it may work similarly for crab.. as long as you like it that way, it works.

In the everglades near Everglade City they use trot lines. I have crabbed only once in Florida in the Everglades using a trotline. We caught some of the biggest Blue crabs I have ever caught 8 to 10 inch point to point.I have crabbed here on the James River all of my life.It is very rare to catch Jimmies over 6.5 inches point to point.My Dad passed in 2013. He was a navy vet from WW2,a lifelong fisherman and hunter. You remind me of him,the way you are raising your children,and the things you value in life.Love of god,family,and country,
I finally moved myself and my sisters to Tampa,FL. Can't wait to get my fishing license so i can go fishing and crabbing somewhere lol. You know you're a fisherman/Woman when you just don't care if you catch something or not. I just want to sit by the water and look and watch nature and if I'm lucky I'll get some fresh fish for the table. Blueclaw crabs are so sweet and tasty. Loved them all my life even when i was a young one.

I'm just a farm kid from Indiana and I can tell a difference between fresh caught and store bought 🦀. I always love getting close to the water for the fresh seafood.

Hey Robert I’ve been watching your videos for quite some time now and I love what you do I also know you have a passion to preserve and give back to nature. Currently a lot of species are being driven down to near extinction due to mass comercial fishing in China and Japan I know this is bigger than you but I do feel like you have a good platform and a voice to bring attention to this huge problem I’d say if you were to make a movie or documentary where you address this big issue it would save a lot of lives. Again so sorry to pin this on you I just know you’re a truly genuine good person not too many left and it’s exactly what the world needs much love appreciate you.

You're living my dream. My girlfriend and I talk about moving down to Florida after her nursing school and my medical school. Living next to some inlet of water and going out to catch our food off our boat is my idea of heaven. Thanks for leading me to that dream.

I went to Florida once for vacation when I was younger we had a huge ship in the back of our hotel with a slide into a pool with white sand and a whirl pool it was so nice. Right now I'm in a hail storm in Washington state ,just not the same. God bless you guys in Jesus name!

It's not quite the season for blue crabs. You have the right spots and is in the right area but give it another two months and you will see a difference. That area that you are in has always been great. Jack Island and Queens Island are also great spots for blue crab.
