- WHERE AMERICAN MUSCLE BEGAN!! The boats start up for the Antique Boat Parade at the 2023 antique boat show in Clayton, NY. These antiques and classics can give modern performance boats a run for their money in terms of raw loudness coming out of those pipes! www.abm.org/
I don't know which is more beautiful, the boats themselves, or the wonderful symphony they produce. Love old wood boats!
Yup its a tough call.. 😊
Peanut butter and jelly! 😎🇺🇲
How old could it be with a name like “yolo?”
To me it's the sound by far
That one with the rounded rear end looks like an older Porsche for the water! What a beauty!!
These type of boats is what gets my attention. They sound and look amazing. Spend all summer running it and all winter keeping it clean and using it for art
Absolutely stunning!
These were REAL boats!
Awesome Boats
I love these boats. The craftsmanship put into one is amazing.
I love that sound
Growing up in the 40 and 50 these were about all you could fiberglass was just coming along. Got to see the engine in one was a flathead Ford. 3 carbs aluminum heads and cam. It had a serious rumble and then he hit it! Oh wow
EXTREMELY spectacular!
I love the hard top boats 🚢
Yes those boats cool Peace out
I get the same feeling when I see and hear a P 51 Mustang that has been refinished you get it or you don’t
@@michaelhrivnak1719While the P51 is a favorite of mine. A big round engine really grabs my attention.
@michaelhrivnak1719 They just have such a unique sound. So does the P51, but that's more of a whine than a chug like a radial. There have also been a lot more radial engines used in various airplanes than 12 cylinder Packard Merlins. Some radial engines had as many as 28 cylinders. They have an almost diesel locomotive like sound.
I expected to see Thurston Howell III and Lovey show up at anytime………beautiful boats .
They would fit in perfectly on the canals of Venice.
What a treat seeing those beautiful boats, thanks
Reminds me of the movie on golden pond. My mom’s favorite. ❤️
Nothing more beautiful than the 1000 islands.
Spent my childhood summer vacations up in alex bay ny and would see these beauties all lined up and down the dock. Love them!
This is real music ❤
Love those old timey super shiny wooden boats!
That is some great sounding beautiful art work. “Love Wood Boats”
That's a lot of money right there beautiful boats fo sho
Would like to have heard those engines opened up and wound out at full throttle.
Been there many times! What a great place..
So freakin cool!
Nice! Love it! Seen some in Coeur d Alene occasionally.
The Baby Gar with the bow thruster was a let down, doubt that was an option back then. The SuperSport at 6:19 was sweet.
The last boat in the video also has a bow thruster. I understand the convince of that on such a long boat, but not sure how I feel about it on a classic!
@@LFMotorhead I saw that as well but had already commented. Makes me think they are remakes or reproductions..?
A-Bay!
gorgeous, shame the video ended with a replica and the ghastly noise of I'm new to this but really rich bow thruster.
Now show us a P.T. BOAT.
All I said?? Was WOW
I think one of them almost hit 850 RPM
Never knew old speed boats had a bow thruster !! SMH
Crazy enough, Gar Wood Custom Boats still exists in NY state. I believe the one with the bow thruster is modern. Still made as if it were the 1920s, but with a modern engine, rigging, and of course a bow thruster. www.garwoodcustomboats.com/baby-gar.html
How bout life jackets for all aboard ?
The days of iron men, and wooden boats.
Some period costumes would give the event some authenticity.
Yes, and YES!
: )
Half of century ago I serviced the Clayton boiler . It was terrible , so many damages of water level switches made by Westinghouse . Never more !
Was disappointed that they were not opened up. I remember riding in wood boats, and they ride smother than fiberglass but at idle? Come on, let's really hear them breathe.
According to Americans there isnt a fuel shortage going by all the old muscle car restorations as well. Why would you want to restore some of these fuel guzzlers with the current fuel shortage and prices. I know these probably don't run often and it is nice to see them.
Didn't they use these boats in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade?
Very similar, yes. They could have used old or custom-made Chris Craft "barrel backs," the boats in Last Crusade would be styled more in the class of Italian-made "Venice taxis;" presumably the Riva Rivarama (though they wouldn't destroy one for the film as this is a very gorgeous & expensive boat; all Rivas are. Think Ferrari mixed with Rolls Royce). Internet opinions vary, the boats could have been Chris Crafts or Hacker Crafts, and modified to be destroyed, lengthened for easier filming while being chopped by the ship's propeller, and perhaps styled to look more Italian and less American, with no identifying marks, different hardware, more Italian looking windshields, etc. etc.
Real old s hool rum runners with the safety item commiserate with their age, ( no life jackets in sight😢😢)
Where the hell is everyone's life jackets ??
What a waist! Stop the engines, put up a sail, really...
I dislike everybody in this video
