For the finale of our series ‘Debut vs. Recent Analysis,’ we will doing something special and watching THREE videos! First, we will watch #2PM in their debut music video #10outof10 , followed by a special live performance of #MyHouse and then, finally, their most recently promoted comeback #Promise before talking about the changes and growth we noticed!
If you missed our first video, a quick reminder for how we chose groups and will be doing commentary:
Groups that were chosen had to meet the following criteria:
Appear on at least 3 different articles relating to change since debut (i.e. Billboard’s “Most Changed Kpop Group Since Debut)
Debuted in 2016 or before (so that there is enough to work with)
Be at least somewhat familiar to the both of us
We will also be focusing on growth in Singing, Dancing, Performance, and Concept since debut! If you would like a full explanation on the series, it can be found in Ep. 1 :)

2PM is my favorite KPOP group and Junho my bias. I can't seem to get into 3rd gen KPOP groups. I just learned about 2PM about 2 years ago. I feel like I lost out on seeing 2pm grow from the kids they were to the mature artists they are today. They truly are professional and know what they are doing. I really see this growth , especially in Junho, with their solo concerts. I can listen to Junho every day. I watch MV of him and also 2PM several times weekly. THey just lift me up. I was sad to learn that 2pm doesn't perform in Korea as much as they do in Japan and that Koreans seem to think that they disbanded because of this. I find it strange that their Japanese concerts/albums are not popular to Korean fans. As an American, not knowing the language of Korea or Japan, has never been an issue. I just love their music even though I've no idea what they are singing. But that's just me. A question I always have is who is the hottest KPOP solo artist performing in solo concerts today? I wanted someone to answer this question because Junho's concerts blow me away and wonder why he's not as popular as he should be. But...he is my bias so..... Recently watching his solo performance of "Souzou" on his Flashlight concert tour DVD showed me his skill as a singer, dancer and overall PERFORMER.......it was perfect and wonder if I'm crazy for thinking that way...cuz I don't think anyone does it better.

No because I agree… the way I’m obsessed with Junho, Jun. K and Wooyoung’s solo concerts cannot be explained. I mean I’m obsessed with all the members’ concerts, but something about the three of them, makes my heart so “proud” to watch them?
2PM literally debuted as perverts 😂 but they're the only bold and manly idols ever. You guys should react to their live concert performances. They're just so fun watching, cuz they have so much fun on stage trolling around. I don't think any other kpop group have the vibe 2PM has. At least not all the members like in 2PM. They're like a bunch of very close guy friends hanging out together. That's why I love them the most

2PM was my start into Kpop, when I migrated from Jpop to it, even though back then I just heard their music and didn't know anything about the group. Then I watched Dream High and had my first experience with kdrama and had my first contact with some of 2PM's members.

I got into kpop because of 2PM around mid-year of 2009. I watched a few kpop mv (forced by my friend) but I was not interested until my friend forced me to watch Again & Again mv. 2PM is so different. I was 14 and already prefer manly man. 😂

My reactions exactly and I think your analysis is spot on. And I know this would offend some fans, but I truly am glad that they became 6. Because of that moment happened, they all had equal opportunities to shine which I doubt would happen if they stayed as they were. I try not to watch their debut MV because the secondhand embarassment is real 🤭 but I love to see how grown they've become over the years which makes me realize how grown I am in turn. Growing old with 2PM doesn't seem so bad afterall 😆🥰

I've really enjoyed this series, and it looked like y'all enjoyed it too so I'd count that as a win. :)
So comments on this video... 2PM has definitely grown and matured in their artistry, but I think they also really highlight how the language of KPop has changed over the past decade+. From the evolution of their sound to their visual presentation, it's just really cool to see how they not only adapted as they got older but also as the KPop landscape changed around them. Though really that's probably not giving them enough credit, I see their influence in other artists' work as well. Got7's You Calling My Name comes to mind, which makes a lot of sense as younger JYP group.
