Amy always consider Penny her best friend early on and Sheldon should know better than anyone that leonard is his best friend. This just feels like a filler episode the writers put in but the audience knew better.

That's why, from the start, she always referred to Penny as best friend, bestie, etc, and inserted herself into best friend situations. Amy also did it to Sheldon later eps about children. Ms.Pink is easily Sheldon's mom. Sit her right beside Sheldon so that she can help him calm down from any anxiety about the day not going perfect, and because he will not drink. Doctor Purple is either their boss or suggests they sent Beverly an invitation. If it's Beverly that raises a problem because she very clearly cannot sit anywhere near Leonard but Penny is one the only people who can handle her. Georgie might be able substitute since he grew up with Sheldon. Missy is a no go, given that at the time she is pregnant and getting a divorce, both things which Beverly would analyze and rip her apart for.
Is this like, wrong in any way? If you have a really close relationship with your friends, then of course you are going to have a lot of trouble picking the best man/bridesmaid, so at least you could tell yourself "you picked the best choice" by testing them all, its YOUR wedding and you are chosing among YOUR friends Whats the wrong thing about it here

In case you really don't see what's wrong here: It's generally not a good idea to make your friends compete against each other *without their knowledge.* If you can't so much as ask beforehand whether or not they would want to participate in such a game, you don't deserve any of them. People aren't your toys. Furthermore, as a bride or groom, it's your responsibility to pick a maid of honour or best man. If you can't handle that, you should probably ask yourself if you're even ready to handle marriage.
